Looks like they modified the kbbq to more Korea meal sets. You select a main and get all the sides with the purple rice. Service is quick and polite. There is parking out back. It's tight but it's free. The inside is same as before. Booth like seating. Nice atmosphere. No cash discount.

This spot has take over Daldognae so all their old decor is still there. This "new" spot is still serving up Korean comfort food. No BBQ. But we enjoyed the spot with all their side dishes. we were so full!! The banchan was top tier. I could eat that salad all day. I don't know what that sauce was but it was really good. Between 4 people we only ordered 2 main dishes/entrees and 1 "side" dish and we could not finish the food. Each main entree. Comes with rice and 6 dishes of banchan. Which included 4 (refillable) Banchan dishes. Service was barely there. We had to wait and calll rhem over each time to order. To refill to take away some dishes and to get the bill.

Located in the old Daldongnae spot, the interior remains while the concept changed to a Korean food restaurant. There is parking in the back which can be tight with snow. Loved all the side dishes and the pork kimchi chigae. There are side dish refills available especially for the salad, japchae and kimchi. Ordered a seafood pancake which was crispy and full of seafood. Service was great from the start until the end where it was hard to get their attention for takeout boxes and the bill. They don't allow bill splitting even for a group of 2.

One of the daldongnae bbq transformered into this. I never noticed the decor in here as we're always busy grilling away. During this visit I noticed how cute it was with the little roofs and windows. You choose a main dish and it comes with all these Bachan -- small side dishes, unlimited refill as well. Love the presentation and concept will definitely visit again. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant for customers. Otherwise you'll have to find paid street parking or park in the neighborhood. The front door was closed when I visited so we had to use the back door.

Came here with my family for our birthday celebration and we each ordered an entree which came out with an abundance of individual and shared side dishes. My favourite was the eggplant and apple side dish. The kimchi here was quite sour and over fermented. I got the beef soondubu and felt it was okay, I definitely had better stew. My family thought their beef tartare bibimbap, LA beef galbi, and pork stir fry were okay too. My brother's galbi was quite chewy actually. Gwangjang is a good place to try especially if you are a foodie but I do think the strength of this restaurant is more in the variety of side dishes less so the entrees. Service was actually quick and prompt. All our food came out around the same time. It also started getting much busier later on when were about to leave. This used to be a Korean BBQ place so it just looks like a very dark spacious restaurant with a lot of enclosed decorative items.

Such a delicious meal we had here. Really enjoyed all the dishes and the side dishes too. Black sesame dressing used on the salad was amazing. Everything was seasoned well. You do get a decent amount of food per order. Definitely worth a visit. Service was alright as well.

This is a great place for a casual meal. Located on Yonge just north of Steeles (across from Centerpoint Mall) the location used to be a Daldongae BBQ. There is parking behind the building (off Abitibi Ave) and you can enter the restaurant from the back as well. Interior has not changed but menu is now full of home comfort meals such as stews and rice. What was ordered: Green Onion and Seafood Pancake GamJaTang Beef Bulgogi Beef Bibimbap We received 3 sides to start but each meal comes with its own set of sides. Our meals arrive on a tray surrounded by a set (6) of small sides. The kettle pot rice that comes with some of the dishes was great. Mixed with a selection of beans with a slice of pumpkin on top it was a nice change from regular white or purple rice. The pancake was thin and crispy but we didn't notice any seafood. Was still yummy though. Good prices and service was decent. Good experience, we would come again!

I have never been to Gwangjang Market itself in Seoul, but this comes close to the experience! Upon entering the restaurant, you immediately get the vibes from the market as this spot emphasizes on creating classic Korean comfort food dishes and banchan side dishes with fresh ingredients and clever techniques. The menu has a few set options to enjoy with the rice sotbap and colourful array of traditional banchan. Whether it's the gamjatang, galbi tang or bibimbap, you will enjoy a delicious variety of balanced flavours and textures in every bite. The side order of Grilled Yellow Croaker is a great compliment to the hearty flavours of the main entree which is worth the extra money to order so that you can enjoy with your table! A fun place to visit with friends and family, Gwangjang Market is a great place to share fun memories and flavours with your loved ones!

I love this place! They took over the previous Daldongnae location and inside was pretty much untouched. It was comfortable and the servers were attentive. We ordered 3 sets and a steamed egg to share. We got the beef soybean jjigae, army stew and braised mackerel. The mackerel was tender and was definitely different since it's usually seared at other places. The jjigae was definitely spicier than I thought. The army stew broth was also on point. All the side dishes were amazing and it's unlimited refills. The rice had a tea taste, which made it extra tasty. Limited and tight parking space at the back, so I would suggest parking at Centrepoint mall. Overall, it was really affordable!!

Slapped so hard. The free japchae was really stand out (is that wierd?). Friend and I split the spicy chicken entree and the seafood pancake side. I would say that's a good way to do it if you don't want days of leftovers. With the free sides and the banchan, you really don't need two entrees for two people. Seafood pancake was also A++ and not too doughy. There is free parking in the back of the building. Would come back!

Little bit difficult to find because I thought entrance was along Yonge but it's behind the restaurant. Very spacious place, looks like it used to be kbbq. It was quite cold inside because the front door was open, and the washrooms are downstairs. Honestly considered wearing my jacket to go to the washrooms because the draft was cold on a -15deg C day. Food wise was great value for the food. Got the seat meals, where soups and proteins came with the clay pot rice. Rice was nicely mixed with pumpkin and beans for a heartier dish. A good mix of banchans too and soup.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Vibe 5/5 This is such a hidden gem! Highly recommend I was just looking for korean food and saw this new spot. I rmb it was korean bbq spot before but now became a set meal kinda style restaurant instead. Didnt start with high expectations, but this place blew me away. Prices were reasonable, portions were huge and all side dishes are free to refill. Like WHAT A STEAL! I loved my Kalbi tang (beef bone soup). Nowadays, a lot of Korean places go cheap and give you beef slices instead of the chucky meat with the bone, but this place goes HARD! Super huge meat but still soft! 5/5 Also their rice is like a steam clay pot style with pumkin, nuts, peas and date. Which makes you feel like something homemade, healthy and good for the belly. Overall 5/5! Will definitely come back!!

This newest Korean restaurant serves crazy Banchan / side dishes that come with your main entree ! The portions are huge, especially the LA Galbi entree! The Jaeyook was my favorite during the visit. Some of the side dishes that we tried were: pancake, Konjac Jorim, Kimchi, Japchae and Salad with sesame dressing. Don't forget that these sides were refillable if you still have room!

We both ordered omelettes; I chose their Spinach Feta omelette and Mom chose their Western. Mine also had feta cheese; both were 3 egg omelettes and came with breakfast potatoes and whole wheat toast. I've started a comparison between spinach omelettes at different restaurants; each one has been better than the previous one and this was no exception - the feta cheese is definitely what brought this one over the top in quality for me. The potatoes and toast were very good and Mom quite enjoyed her meal too. Again I consider my meal a pretty good value considering both the quantity and quality of the food. We had prompt service as well and overall my 2nd visit to this restaurant was quite enjoyable.

FOOD (3/5) We always order a Soon Tofu stew and Kamjatang (pork bone soup). Both stews are served in a traditional hot stone bowl and comes with rice and some banchan (side dishes). Both stews are have a flavourful and mildly spicy broth. The Soon Tofu comes with a decent amount of tofu but is a bit shorter in seafood with usually a shrimp and pieces of squid and mussels. The same can be said for the pork bone soup as it doesn't typically have as much meat on the bone as other Korean restos. The side dishes it comes with are bean sprouts, kimchi, and pickled turnip. SERVICE (n/a) Since it's part of a food court, it's all self service and served on tray which you bus yourself back on the rack in front of the restaurant. VALUE (4/5) The dishes are usually about $3-4 cheaper than comparable Korean sit-down spots (eg. Owl, BCD). Because it's food court style, you don't have to pay for the service or tips. OVERALL (3.5/5) Jinmee is great spot for a quick hearty Korean meal. If you're looking for a nice sit down spot with homey ambience, this isn't it. Quick, easy, tasty, and good value. Will continue to be a go-to spot for me.

We had the pork bone stew (#1 on the menu) and the spicy seafood tofu stew (#3 on the menu). Both were $10.99 so pricing here is pretty decent considering most places charge upwards of $15 these days. There was a sign emphasizing that they don't use MSG in any of their dishes. Stews are served with purple rice and 3 side dishes - kimchi, bean sprouts, and cucumbers. The pork bone stew was good but the meat wasn't "fall off the bone" and could have been softer. The spicy seafood tofu stew was as expected and had a bit of seafood, zucchini, tofu, and an egg in it. Both soups for the stews were flavourful!
