For the accolades this place gets, it's pretty mediocre. The inside is ok and it's quiet. The service; well no smiles here she was just there doing a job. Food was ok. The Ruben was average the sauerkraut was sweet not sour and the potatoes salad was awful. Too much of whatever the sauce was and I think I tasted tarragon. Get the chips. My husband at 1/2 of his club he didn't like their sauce or condiments. All in all the meat was fresh and the bread was good. You may like the tarragon flavor. read more

We are here for lunch of a Tuesday at 2pm. It wasn't busy and we seated ourselves on the patio. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The place, including bathrooms were spotless. We were greeted by our server 3 minutes after we sat down. We reviewed the menu and the server returned for Q&A session from us. No kidding- we got our food 7 minutes after ordering. She rechecked on us frequently. It started to rain and we lived spitting under the umbrella on a warm day with delicious food. The sandwich was spectacular. Loaded with meat and flavor, super soft bun. We tested the herb slaw and potato salad sides and would recommend both. The slaw had more vibrant flavor. The two of us ate for $37 including tip and a $3 beer!! that was first rate. We will return. Highly recommend. read more

I really can't say enough about this restaurant. The staff is always really pleasant to work with and the food has always been delicious. I always seem to get the Reuben sandwich. I've enjoyed Ruben's since my 20s when I was stationed in Germany and this Reuben sandwich here is very delicious. I also enjoy their salads . This is a nice little sandwich shop in the Heart of downtown Anderson with outside seating as well. read more

We ordered take out today from Groucho's. I have to say that I wasn't thrilled. I don't understand how to eat the sub. It's basically a flat, wide bread that the cut down the center instead of like a normal sub. Then all the meat and stuff is jammed in the center. There's no way to eat it like a sandwich? Had a great lunch today at Groucho's Deli. Danny or Danielle handles our special orders without a fuss and was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and the place was cool and the busy takeaway business did not interrupt the soft rock playing on the video screen. Always great to see the owner working out front our in the back because it shows he cares and the business is important to him. Also has outdoor tables so you bring your dog. We tried Gouchos Deli for the first time. It was a Sunday evening and we were planning takeout. we reviewed the online menu and made our selections. My husband chose the club BLT. What he brought home looked nothing like the photos! Not only was his BLT falsely advertised, the sandwich had "some" BACON BITS no bacon strips, there was barely a tomato used and a few leaves of lettuce. It was such a disappointment. Not very often for me to leave a bad review.... Wife and I each had a sandwich and were completely disappointed! Wife had the pastrami. Was told it came with lettuce and tomato.. It came dry on stale bread... No mayo, lettuce or tomato. Literally threw the bread away. I had the STP Dipper and got more bread than sandwich. Sandwich was a three inch roll with two shaved pieces of meat and cheese. Chips were the best part of both meals. I would rather get a sandwich at Subway than return! Appreciate the reply Michael! The person who took my wife's order said the pastrami came with lettuce and tomato.... Only reason it was mentioned. Understand the new employees especially in the current pandemic. While it's not the huge thick, hot, gooey, too thick to bite, grilled and messy gob of goodness, it's DELIGHTFUL! Well, we waited till the newness wore off and went. We were genuinely pleased. Our server recommend some sandwiches to us, since it was our first visit and he nailed it. I had a hit sandwich called 'appolo slider' and wendy had a Turkey BLT. Bother were amazing for a sandwich. Also tried thier Formula 45 sauce , the Cole slaw was good, different but good, they put mustard it it. Give it a try, you'll be surprised. We sat outside on the patio because it was a beautiful day and enjoyed ourselves eating lunch and listening to the children playing in the fountain at wren park. Will definitely go back. Within a short distance of a few big schools, Groucho's was the lunch spot of choice between college tours. We didn't know what to expect when we walked in the door, but were sure glad we did. The service was fantastic, our waitress was able to recommend the STP Dipper as their most popular item and it did not disappoint. The hearty sandwiches Groucho's offers will fill you up and won't break the bank. The best way to describe the food would be classic New York deli meets southern comfort and charm. we finished our meal with a pretzel brownie and WOW was that delicious and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. Vegetarian so I ordered the baby Bella thinking it would have a little more than just cheese and mushrooms (peppers onions etc) but it was basically a mushroom and cheese quesadilla. Not my fav. But my party was pleased with their meat sandwiches (roast beef and tuna). I tried the caprese sandwich the next time and it was better but a little cumbersome to eat. Their slaw and potato salad is mustard based and (IMO) over-seasoned with an herb (perhaps thyme). Some people like it, some don't. The 45 dressing is amazing and definitely one of my favorite things at the restaurant. The wait staff is absolutely lovely. They're friendly, willingly to help in any way possible, and if you don't like something they try their best to correct it. It's definitely a highlight of the restaurant. I am slightly put off by the limited vegetarian options but at least their trying unlike some of the other restaurants. read more

Excellent service......I first ordered potato soup, which was good but there wasn't any potatoes at all in the soup I recieved. Next I had a roast beef sandwich with chips and pickle spear...it was good but I've had better. I also tried the potato salad which was very good but the portion was small. I may try them again but the soup will definitely not be a repeat order..... it was over priced for what I recieved......again the service was excellent and the restaurant was very lean. read more
