When placing order at the counter, was ignored while the two employees I could see continued their conversation. Finally got order placed for Cuban sandwich and potato salad. Tasted good yet very meager on the meat and bread slices rather thick. Potato salad was good. Won't be back again though as I can get a much better Cuban sandwich at the Publix deli area. Best spud/baked potato I've had in a while. I had to have it with the cheese and the sour cream (extra sour cream too). It was delicious and cooked perfectly. There are many spud options to choose from that include meat. Ours had turkey in it and we enjoyed it very very much! I didn't think Turkey would work that well with a baked potato but it was delicious! Will definitely stop by again when I'm in town! read more

Ordered delivery from your website as a loyal customer. You had Door Dash deliver my order. My salad is missing grilled chicken I paid extra for. I called McAlister blamed it on DD. DD says file a complaint on the app. I do not have the app. I ordered from McAlister's site. Poor, poor service for a $30 salad! Added peppers that are the consistency of pasta noodles and unidentifiable as a fresh, crunchy pepper. Tomatoes chopped smaller than dice. Cucumbers chopped to the size of a nickel or less. 6 months ago to a year I came from Houston to this establishment... I left a bad review because of the poor service and swore never to come back .... BUTTTTT WE decided to give it a shot .. Hands down this experience was amazing Super clean and attentive workers ... I want to make note is mister correen ( sorry if I misspelled your name ) but we had chosen a table from the far as my mother was walking away because it was slightly dirty he called her and said he would take care of it .... Really come to show the attentive customer service .... And miss sam the cashier was very polite with the kindest smile ..... And the whole team from the people in the front to the people in the back with huge smiles ..... There has definitely been a change to this place ... Keep up the good work ... Definitely not the best McAlister's I've been to (and I've been to dozens across the South/Midwest) but in Clemson it works. Located off campus and away from the busy part of town this location has been here since late summer and offers a quick, affordable lunch or dinner to people looking to munch on sandwiches, soups and salads. The service is quick and good, likely because it never seems packed (yet). I'm sure it'll get busier as more learn it's open. Normally, this place makes good baguettes, but the one I had with my turkey sandwich here wasn't like I've had at all the other locations in this major chain. It was bland, doughy and weak. I asked if it was the correct bread for my meal and they said yes, which tells me they haven't dialed it all in yet. Still, the soup and salad was good and the sandwich was a normal chain deli sandwich. This spot has an excellent assortment of different sandwiches, soups and salads and makes for a great lunch. read more

Went there for the first time last week, almost a Panera vibe but BETTER. Super reasonable prices and portions. I got their baked potato soup thing and LOVED it. With limited seating it's important to clean what tables you have available. We saw no evidence of this. Dirty tables with spilled drinks and food all around. This is doubly worrisome. Not only is it unpleasant to look at, its also unsanitary during the Covid crisis. What's the use of limiting seating and closing off tables if you don't clean the ones that are available? Also the bacon was cold and uncooked on two sandwiches. One might be a mistake, but two seems like it might be commonplace. Uncooked foods are also dangerous. Overall it was not a very good experience today. The food tasted ok, but based on taste, portion size, and cost, I would not consider it a great value. read more

I'm extremely disappointed. I've eaten at McAlister's Deli dozens of times and thought that when I changed my diet to vegan it would be a good place to go since they had so many vegetarian options. WRONG! When we came in we looked at the menu and every single "vegetarian" item on the menu contains dairy or eggs or both. We talked it over with the cashier at the counter, telling her we were vegan, discussed items on the menu and eventually settled on the loaded veggie spud for me with no cheese and no sour cream, but the addition of an item on the menu that was simply listed as "Ro-Tel" and I assumed was the same Ro-Tel I use in Mexican dishes at home - canned tomatoes with green chiles. Despite the fact that I had told my cashier we were vegan, and our very careful discussion about what we did not want on our food, when I asked if Ro-Tel could be added to the potato in place of the dairy, she never said a word about Ro-Tel being cheese queso. My companion ordered the vegetarian club without cheese. It also never occurred to him that after our conversation mayo would be put on his sandwich. When we received our orders I was shocked to see my potato swimming in cheese. My companion was similarly shocked to find that his sandwich had mayo on it. We had little choice - my blood sugar had dropped and I needed to eat right then. I scraped as much of the cheese off of the potato and veggies that I could and ate it, but I really couldn't enjoy it. My friend ditched the bread and lettuce that had mayo on it and made do with the rest. One last thing, and it's a small one - but added to what had already happened, it said a lot. The door said the hours were 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. We got there about 8:45 p.m. A few minutes after we sat down, some people tried to come into the side door and it was locked so we let them in. A few seconds later the same woman who waited on us rushed up and told the party that the restaurant was closed. As she walked back by me, I asked her about the hours on the door, and was told that they had summer hours, closing at 9:00 p.m. When my companion said that they should change their door then, she said there was a "note" on the door. When we came in there was no note on the door. I particularly despise businesses that list their hours as one thing and yet run their business on another set of hours. I note that even here on Yelp it says they are open to 10:00 pm. I'm extremely disappointed with our visit and I don't think I'll be going back again. read more

Friendly staff, good menu choices. Everyone in my group loved their choices. They said the Rueben and the beef dip were both good and 2 people loved the baked potato soup. I got the biggest baked potato I ever saw and sort of customized it to what I wanted on it. It was really good! I asked for shredded cheese, bacon, red onion and bell peppers. I also got a sugar cookie that was good and their lemonade was good. The only thing we weren't impressed with was the Mac n cheese as a side with one of the sandwiches. It wasn't horrible but just wasn't a great choice. I would definitely eat here again though and try something else on the menu or get my potato again. read more

Good, solid sandwiches for a reasonable price. Have healthy options, and also the 'extra' delicious options, depending on what you're looking for. I had the classic Italian sandwich and it really hit the spot. Thought it was a Southern thing (lots of Tiger Paws and many tea options), but turns out they have some in Illinois as well. Nice neighborhood deli. I have taken my mom twice and both times ordered half a sandwich and half a spud max. I was finished with my sandwich when I realized that I was not served what I ordered. I ordered a turkey sandwich that had guacamole on it and ate an entire different turkey sandwich. I didn't even notice because it was really good but I really wanted to try the other sandwich! The quality is very good but the restaurant seems chaotic for the staff. I plan to go back and finally get the turkey with guacamole sandwich! read more

The service here is very subpar. The ladies at the front are not pleasant whatsoever and don't work with the customers to create an enjoyable eating experience. I suggest that management reevaluates the politeness of their servers. Also, my friends and I tried to use tigerstripe and they were unwilling to help us and complained about how long it will take. The only reason I gave it two stars is because of the atmosphere, otherwise I would give it zero if that was an option. The country potato soup tastes like they took powdered mashed potatoes added too much water and then threw some overcooked potato chunks in it. Also the bread bowl was soggy white bread. I have been here with my family numerous times. The food is always good, the service is prompt and professional, and the restaurant and bathrooms are always clean. This is one of the best values for the price anywhere in Clemson. Update 11/4/15: I hate to do this but I'm downgrading to 4 stars. Every restaurant is allowed to have a bad day once in a while, but recently it has become a pattern. Over the last several visits, I have noticed slower and slower service (up to 30 minutes compared to the usual 5 to 10), incorrect orders (order taker rung up the wrong item despite being told she had it wrong), incomplete orders (such as salads missing ingredients that are listed on the menu), dirty silverware, and on one occasion I counted over 10 tables that had not been bussed at all and the rest were all dirty (we walked around the entire restaurant and could not find a single table that did not have food crumbs on it). Are they under new management? They used to be totally dialed in! All that being said, it is still a good place and the food quality is above average so I still recommend them. I will be going back but I hope they can return to their former glory. One other recommendation: sourdough bread would make a better bread bowl. read more

We arrived at 12:30pm, the line was out the door, we arrived at the counter to order at 1:02pm. We have to be back from lunch at 1:30pm. There were five people working, 2 in back and 3 up front. However, Ciera was the only one working a register, had to stop to change the syrup in the drink machine all the while trying to take orders, while others were lolly gagging around. There was no sense of urgency. Being lunch time, a college town when the students are in, there should have been a lot more people working. Needless to say we were late getting back to work. I've been a patron of McAlister's (especially in Greenville, SC) for nearly two decades. It's favorite spot! But this location in Clemson is awful! After 5 separate visits, i won't be back. The food is always lukewarm, with much smaller portions than we're accustomed, and stale. It's as if our entrees have been sitting out all day. So very disappointing and unlike other McAlister's locations we've dined. Won't be back. read more
