The pizza at Grimaldi's was great, as usual. Unfortunately, things changed when we got the bill. We wanted to try sampling a few different specialty pizzas so we ordered two large pizzas and were told that we could split each pizza half and half. What we were not told, however, is how much more going half and half on a pie would cost us. If you guessed $100 for two large pizzas, you would lose according to price is right rules... but just barely. In this case I was the only one who lost. Yes, my bill for two large pizzas and an iced tea rang in at $93. When we spoke to the manager she agreed that 'the price was high' but was rather indifferent claiming that 'this is how it's done at the other locations' and she was unable to make any adjustments because that was 'above her level' I only wish I would've known what I was getting into from the beginning. I would've just bought four large pizzas instead or perhaps a Little Caesars franchise. Please, if you choose to eat at this location, speak to a financial advisor before hand and absolutely get everything in writing before finalizing your order. I will not be coming back. Decided to have a quick late lunch date with my mom. She wanted pizza and really likes Grimaldi's. I was leaving work for the day so this sounded perfect. Lunch Specials are GREAT! So I was happy with her choice. Tuesday half off Sangrias ALL DAY are even better! They have four sangrias on the menu. Peach Sangria and Berry Sangria were my choices. The berry was my favorite of the two. I loved the fresh strawberries in it. It was so good and I enjoyed it. The peach was good, but not as good as the berry. It has tiny bits of peaches in it. I'm getting to the point I feel RED Sangria is better than WHITE Sangria. I do love you can get 2 Sangrias for the price of 1 only on Tuesday's. The thin big slice for lunch was delicious. It comes with cheese and I added pepperoni. I rarely get dessert, but today I ordered the Oreo Cheesecake. It's a BIG slice and definitely can be shared. So me and my mom indulged. Grabbing for a picnic with the littles has become such a perfect pastime for me. I highly recommend you place your order online at least 30 kin ahead of arriving. I've never had a pizza ready earlier than that from this location. They're always slammed! Top dog for me right now is the hot honey pizza. So much sauce and the perfect amount of cheese sitting under layers of pepperoni and hot honey drizzle. Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's mom's birthday -- she loves Grimaldi's and always makes it a point to visit a location when she's in town from abroad. I hadn't been to Grimaldi's in years due to a bad past experience, but this location totally redeemed it for me! We ordered the small antipasto, a 12" Quattro Formaggi, a large The Don, and a slice of tiramisu. I also had the Peach Keen mocktail -- so refreshing and flavorful. The pizzas were fantastic -- perfectly cooked with crispy crusts and served piping hot (which I love). The cheese was gooey, the meats were juicy, and everything was super flavorful. The antipasto was also a hit -- I wish I had taken a photo before we devoured it! Only minor thing: they don't do anything for birthdays unless you're part of the rewards program, which didn't really help us since she lives overseas. But no biggie -- we brought our own candle and made it festive ourselves. Overall, great experience -- this location left a much better impression than my last visit years ago. Grimaldi's is a favorite in our family. They have a wonderful birthday program and a good points program. The pizza is really good. Usually. We always get extra sauce because we like our pizza with some sauciness since we feel the pizza is always a little dry with their regular sauce. And extra sauce is a real menu item you pay extra for. The past couple visits have not been spot on as each time we had a pizza without extra sauce when it was ordered with extra sauce and confirmed when they read back the order. This last time they offered to remake the pizza but the passive aggressive remake was drowning in the "extra sauce" we ordered. We didn't say anything to staff about it because we did not want to wait for another pizza remake but also they delivered the pizza looking like pizza soup and did not seem phased by how wrong that appeared. We will still visit but if this happens again it may be our last time except for birthday month pizza because the pizza is a premium price and service like this is not acceptable. I don't think Grimaldi's is run very well at Watters Creek - I did not have a great experience grabbing a pizza to-go, and I think their employees could be better trained to handle orders. Firstly, I think a restaurant joining the inKind network is a great thing, but only if restaurant staff are aware of it. This is the second time someone at Grimaldi's had 0 awareness of inKind when I asked to pay that way. The hostess at the front had to ask 3 other people if I could pay through the app, and once I ordered, she prompted me to pay with my cc and get a refund through the app (which is not how it works), and got annoyed when I said that is not how the app operates. I understand it was busy in the front of the restaurant (which is cramped as is), but her frustration should be directed towards her manager for not training her on one of the restaurant offerings. Secondly, once we placed our pizza order and they requested our phone number, we left and expected to receive a text when our pizza was ready as no time estimate had been given. We came back after 25 mins to check in, and the pizza was ready and in the warmer. I would love to know how customers are supposed to know their food is ready with no communication from the restaurant. This was really disappointing because we were in a rush. And lastly, the food. These pizzas are not cheap. Charging $4 for each vegetable topping is crazy. I would expect at least high quality pizza, and not one completely burnt on the bottom (photos included). I didn't feel I needed to check the bottom of the pizza in the restaurant to make sure it wasn't burnt, but apparently I should have done so. The restaurant is better for dining and pretty clean, but the chairs are scratched up and uncomfortable at some tables. It's a cramped restaurant to do anything but sit down for a full meal. Regular here and always get the same thing: white garlic pizza with ricotta, mushrooms, and Italian sausage and it is delicious! It always comes out piping hot and fresh. The ricotta is creamy and sweet, the garlic sauce is light and adds a bit of salt, and the sausages and mushrooms adds a wonderful flavor. The crust is really thin and delicious in the coal oven, and this pizza is flavorful but not heavy which I love. I think for pizza, red sauce is good but it's harder to make tomato sauce special from regular pizza you can get anywhere, so the garlic sauce really shines. Service was awesome! Lydia was my server and was super friendly and kind! Everything came fast and I never had to ask for anything. Really great! A good Grimaldi's pizza is still one of my favorites in the area, but this location has just been inconsistent lately and we have twice been disappointed in the quality recently. While once I would have given them 5 stars, I struggled to hand out the 4. The pizzas have been really sloppy lately and while the taste is mostly still there, a little more quality control could go a long way. Grimaldi's is a chain, but their pizza has a distinct flavor. I love it and usually the ingredient quality is spot on as well. In our recent visits, the pizzas were a mess. Unequal distribution of cheese, sauce haphazardly thrown at the pie, and even the toppings looked like they came from a bin at Subway, not really deserving of their price tag. Both visits were at 4:30, when the place is quiet so there was no excuse not to take their time in making our pizzas long before the dinner rush. Flavor wise, the food mostly holds up. It's an extremely floppy pie that you need to fold or cut to eat, but we find it generally delicious. Price is definitely high per topping...you're not going to want to order different pizzas for everyone...you want to find people that eat the same flavors as you do and split one. I appreciate that they will bring a piece of pizza dough for kids to play with. Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 - Cute New York decor, but it's Watters creek so parking sucks. Im sure if I visited the original it would blow my mind. That being said, the overall experience is well rehearsed and you always get a pretty predictable experience. As I described in 2017. I live in a "Pizza Desert" and have to travel far, 25-45 minutes, for my favorites. There was a wreak on the freeway yesterday blocking easy travel to my intended dinning spot so, this was plan B. The original was a steak so, the fact I defaulted to Pizza may tell you Ive been craving it for some time. We've gone to Grimaldi's four times. The first time was a great experience, even though I felt like the prices were steep for the pizza. Good pizza, but nothing to write home about. Their gluten free option is my daughter's favorite so I knew we'd be back again. Second time, it was a slow evening so our pizza was made promptly, the server was a kind gentleman who was attentive. Exceptional tip was give . That led us back to the third time where they made two mistakes on our order; one right after another. That wasn't a great evening because we were tired and the repeated mistakes delayed our pizza two times. By the time it was corrected, our other items were cold and some of our part had already eaten. Solid tip was given. Fourth, and now last, time was a terrible experience. We have a younger kiddo who is a mover so we ordered ahead to dine in so we wouldn't disturb other patrons. Upon arriving, we were told that wasn't allowed. I was kind and understanding and sought to cancel the order (it hadn't been made yet), then be seated and order there. It was quite the fight to have that happen but because it was for a birthday celebration for my Gf daughter, I persevered. What regrets! Drink order was mistaken TWICE (two kids waters, 2 adult waters, and a DP, not difficult). Then an entire pizza was missing from our order. We had only order three pizzas. At this point, I was not ready to be kind so I decided to say nothing and just tell them to remove the pizza once we were ready to pay. Server came once to refill drinks, even though we weren't busy, pizza was sub par. Manager finally came to us and apologized for the missing pizza. He said he would take 50% off our bill since our experience was terrible. Unfortunately, that did not happen whenever the server came to collect payment. I plan on working with the Grimaldi corporate office to get a refund for our pickup order. Additionally, I will request a refund on our dine in experience. I rarely post bad reviews but I was really upset with the service my friend and I received. After we were sitting for quite awhile with our menus closed, I had to go get the waitstaff since she didn't even acknowledge our presence. It did look like she was the only one serving two areas by herself. I asked twice for lemon for my Pepsi and never got it for the entire meal. Not once were we asked if we wanted refills.
