Fried Ravioli Appetizer
Katrina D.

When we first arrived and seated, we were told that the bread was still baking, and they would bring it out to us. So we placed our order for pizza slices, and an appetizer of fried ravioli. The food is really good, but oh my word the bread!!! It has to be the largest "roll" I have ever seen served at a restaurant in my entire life! It was like an entire loaf of bread! It's homemade, it taste homemade, I could have just eaten the bread and walked away extraordinarily happy! We are definitely going to be back and we are going to order the pastas because that bread deserves to be dipped in some sauce! Go for the bread and stay for the food!

This is a petty decent pizza place! The large pies are smaller than I'm used to coming from New York but the flavor is good. I can't say they are always sliced evenly. A lot of times there are a few huge pieces and then others that are smaller when we order the pie. I'd love to see more consistency with that. I wouldn't be able to give 5 stars because it is not New York pizza but it's the closest thing I've found thus far. The garlic knots are not that at all, it is just big huge rolls that really aren't soft at all which was disappointing when expecting garlic knots. I have been ghere at least 5 times and will continue to zone here until I find a place that's spot of for the NY Pizza I'm used too. For now this is the closest thing to it but not perfect.

Loved my first visit. My husband is Sicilian and would come here often. Clara is awesome. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt welcomed. She greeted us immediately with a smile, asked our seating preference and got drinks and bread to our booth right away. She's sweet and kind. Checked on us multiple times, just overall awesome. Hot the chicken parmesan with pink sauce and he got the sausage hot sub. Every bite was delicious and exceeded expectations. I usually always get eggplant parm, but this place just made chicken my favorite. I'd never pick anything else after this experience. Mwah! So good. There are tables and booths all around. Plenty of seating for big and small groups. Highly recommend the tiramisu dessert. No photo unfortunately, we ate it too fast. Lol.

This is a shrimp Alfredo

The food was nasty,no seasoning,no favor, the service was horrible, the manager force me to pay for the food I only took two bite out of it and I didn't like it at all. The manager also stated me down while I was trying the food and also tried to charge me for food then not give it to me. I felt profiled. I am a Black LBTQ+ transgender woman and I was profiled. I would not recommend eating here. We are not accepted here. Period.

Italian dinging nights out bring about memories of the movie Lady and the Tramp. Very inexpensive and delivers on what you order in a timely manner. It is BYOB and I did bring a bottle of chianti to have with the meal. Getting ready for summer pool time, I have put away my pasta consumption and will order salad to go with pizza, yet start the evening with calamari. Yea, I know, breading in pizza and grease and breading on the calamari, I could have had the pasta and probably a cream sauce and still kept the carb count the same. But let's talk about the food. The calamari was a large portion and tender, though we ran out of sauce about 3/4 of the way through. The flavor of the breading was tasty, but the calamari itself was very bland. We asked for the house salads ($3.99) to be served with our 12" Special Toppings Pizza ($17.99). The pizza crust (thin) was textured well, but once again, not much flavor. The toppings and sauce were similar in offerings with salads, which were mainly head lettuce with some red cabbage. Choice of dressings were limited to house (like a Catalina) or Ranch, which I chose and again, thin on flavor. I was really looking forward to their free dinner rolls, which I read about in other reviews. The serving looked impressive like other reviews stated, however, our two rolls, which stand up 4 and 1/2" high were dry. The density of those rolls was very think . We had to pull apart pieces from each to dip into a garlic, olive oil dipping plate. Our server was quite efficient and very pleasant. Water glasses (we requested lemon slices and were served huge slices) always refilled in a timely manner. A very large to go box was supplied to us to take the other half of the pizza home and it did reheat in aluminum foil in a small oven. Our check was presented at the table and I took it to the front counter where the cash register attends to To Go Orders. I left a cash tip, which I recommend everyone to do. So, would I recommend this restaurant? It is a very basic serving of Italian food, good for very casual dining. It is close to home and would be easy to go to without caring about getting dressed up, but then, the Tramp in the movie did not even wear a collar. Yup, will probably go back.

The dipping oil (with garlic mixed in) that comes with the appetizer, Garlic Rolls with Goop. Delicious!

A friend mentioned this is her favorite Italian place in McKinney, so I had to try it. My review is based on having it delivered (via Favor). GARLIC ROLLS. These are not your standard bread rolls...these are huge, homemade (yes, you can tell!), dense, and moist rolls. I ordered the "with goop" option which came with freshly minced garlic and olive oil mixed for dipping. I also ordered a side of alfredo to dip as well. The rolls are a must! The fettuccini alfredo was good. Plenty of sauce and a huge portion. The chicken on my husband's fettuccini was a bit chewy. I also wish the entree came with cheese on the side or on top of the fettuccini alfredo like you usually receive at restaurants for this dish...a key component! Everything was packed well by the restaurant and still hot when delivered. We will order from them again!

2 orders of Penne pasta and HUGE garlic knot yeast rolls!! YUMMMM!!!!

I used to work in McKinney 10 years ago for about 10 years and this was one of my favorite places to go to lunch. We got to know their daily lunch specials and they are all excellent! Whenever I am in the area, we must order some delicious comfort food. Today's order was my favorite- Penne pasta and the garlic knot rolls are HUGE!! Not too garlicky, more yeasty, and SO, SO good!! I love to support mom and pop restaurants and this is one of our all-time favorites.

This place is incredible i highly recommend the source is super good, the pasta is nice, the bread is fresh, the waiters are super nice, and I love the look of the place along with the music it's such a amazing restaurant I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Take out order.

Will call this a hidden gem for anyone, but especially for travelers since it's off the beaten path. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly. They have a lounge upstairs. The main dining room is lively and inviting. The space is tight keeping you from an intimate experience. The tastes in both plates were fresh and flavorful. The menu notes GF pizza, BUT they also offer GF penne. My only complaint was not having bread to soak up the glorious cream sauce on my scallopine. For the GF crowd, it can be hard to find fresh Italian dishes that taste less than the normal dishes. Outside of the substitute pasta, you wouldn't know the gamberi was GF. We were a party of 7 had appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts. The food was good but nothing special and amazing. I would give more preference to the food than I would the service. At 620pm the waitress asked us to leave as there was another party needing our table. Again we were there an hour and 20 minutes. Our bill as most had multiple spirits and wine was $400-500. I wish they were just a little more polite than you need to leave as there is another party with an upcoming reservation. Maybe a little warning. We grabbed our belongings and went and got a drink at the Landon winery. I will post the pics as I said I feel like their food is decent. They are a small quaint place in downtown McKinney and were busy when we left.

The cagliaritana had the PERFECT ratio of ingredients and the crunch on the pizza was unreal. Everything tasted and smelled insanely fresh. The Caesar was loaded with freshly shaved parm and somehow tasted way better than a Caesar salad has any right to. I think the croutons were also homemade? Perfect! The small three cheese pizza was also perfect -- great crust, great sauce-to-cheese ratio, and honestly the perfect size to split with someone alongside a salad. But the TNT panini?? Holy crap. The second you unwrap it, the smell of the garlicky focaccia hits you immediately. And the pink sauce was some of the best I've had. The tiramisu was also the perfect sweet ending to the meal. It wasn't overly sweet and soggy like most in this area. Cannot wait to try the cannolis! After years of searching for real Italian food, I finally feel like I found it. Fresh ingredients, amazing flavor, and genuinely kind people. The owner (or who I believe was the owner working the front) was so friendly, accommodating, and transparent about timing. We didn't realize until we were ordering that they do a BOGO half off deal on entrees every Tuesday, as long as everyone orders an entree. As a result we definitely had too much food on the table but it was nice for our party of 7 to try a bunch of different things! I didn't have time to take pictures of it all, but we started with the bruschetta and the sautéed mushrooms. Bruschetta came out hot and great as usual, but the mushrooms were a bit salty. The complementary salads were nice and light and our servers were great at refilling waters and bringing out more free bread throughout the night. For our entrees, we ordered the creamy lemon shrimp pasta with spaghetti, the eggplant parm with fettuccine, the lasagna bolognese, the shrimp spezia, the tortellini bolognese (one of the specials that day), and the dolce e salato & cesarini pizzas. My favorite items of the night were the dolce e salato pizza (the sweet and savory combo was excellent and the crust was light and fluffy) and the shrimp dishes - the shrimp was cooked very well. I'm not a big red sauce person but the bologneses were also pretty good. The long noodles were a little mushy in all the sauce but the tortellini was not bad. Portion sizes were huge so we took three boxes of leftovers home! And one of the ladies at the host stand helped us take some nice group pictures outside the restaurant after our meal. For a solid local red sauce joint that will fill you up and then some, look no further!

The food was amazingly good--one of the best italian places I've had in a while. Our service was subpar. We were a group of 5 people all around the age of 23-24, and it seemed like our server just assumed that made all his shortcomings okay because he tried to act kind of bro-like with us. There were multiple periods of time where we were left alone for anywhere from 10 minutes to 40. It took us a LONG time to get our food even though we were one of maybe 4 parties in the restaurant. One friend got told they were out of something, ordered something else, and the waiter went, "that's a joke, right?" and told him they were out of that too. His entree came out almost a full 30-40 minutes after the rest of ours so he just packed it up to-go. Only a halfhearted apology that everything was taking so long and no type of compensation. The food was good enough that I would go back to try again since partner and I live in the area. But i really hope we don't get this guy as our server again.
