From the moment you walk in, you're immediately greeted like family. The restaurant space is modern and the ambiance is very family centered. It was our first time here and we ordered the chicken pesto pasta, chicken picccata, and the calamari. If you're looking for an authentic Italian home cooked meal, this is your sign to make the trip and give it a try! While waiting for our food, my partner and I were talking about all the people we want to bring to have them try it too. THANK YOU SALI's ITALIAN, OUR EXPERIENCE WAS 11/10!! read more

Our pizza and Mozarella sticks were delicious!! Staff was so friendly and made me feel very welcomed. We will definitely be ordering again soon! Also, the limoncello cake might just be our new favorite dessert!! read more

This is my second time to come to this restaurant, Sally in the last 15 years, but it's very good. One of my favorite local pizza places closed in the last six months and their pizza here would be a good substitute. Lots of vegetables on this special. Almost too much. The crust is really good, the service is very nice and it's a family restaurant. I'll be coming back. read more

I ordered a pepperoni pizza with NO cheese, only to get home and there no pepperoni on it. WTF. I tried to call but they closed before 9pm. It a sad day when the order taker can't get the order right!! read more

If you're looking for an Italian restaurant that truly makes you feel at home, this is the place. The owners are incredibly friendly and make it a point to take care of every single guest personally. Their hospitality is unmatched! From the moment we walked in, we felt like family. Every dish we tried tasted like it was straight out of an Italian grandmother's kitchen. Everything is freshly handmade, and you can really taste the love and quality in every bite. The flavors are unbelievable, truly to die for. Their staff is just as wonderful as the owners, and the whole experience from start to finish was unforgettable. We will recommend this place every single time. It's rare to find a restaurant where the food is perfection and the people are even better. This one is absolutely worth every visit! read more

Nice little family owned Italian restaurant in West McKinney. They do a brisk takeout business - there was a steady flow of takeout orders the entire time we were dining there. It's small inside but the atmosphere is warm and cozy without feeling to crowded. Order and pay at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. Service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the chicken piccata and really enjoyed it. It tasted fresh and I liked that the white wine lemon sauce was tangy which balanced the creaminess of the dish well. The portion size was decent with two chicken breasts on top of a bed of spaghetti noodles. My partner got the spaghetti and meatballs which was basic, but good. They gave us a basket of rolls - they are huge! It's served with a delicious side of garlic oil. I chatted with another customer while waiting in line who told me her family has been coming here for years. She raved about the chicken pesto and said that's what they always order. Sali's isn't a fancy place by any means but the food is solid and it's totally worth visiting. read more

Hubby wanted a good Stromboli so Yelp said this was the closest place to try! The bread was amazing! We both wanted the inside temperature of his Stromboli and my calzone to be a little hotter but not a big deal. Friendly counter service but she brought the food out to us. Can't wait to come back and try their pizza next! read more

Five Stars Ain't Enough. I'd Give It a Standing Ovation If I Wasn't in a Food Coma As someone who Ubers for a living, I've sniffed out my fair share of restaurants from the front seat. Some places smell like disappointment. But Sals? Sali's smelled like joy, garlic, and the kind of love that can only be passed down through generations or by someone's Nana who doesn't measure anything but feels it in her heart. I've had this place bookmarked on my mental "must try before I die" list, and today I finally made the pilgrimage. Sweet baby marinara, was it worth it. Let's talk about the bread. I almost proposed to it. The zucchini fries? Crispy little miracles. The ranch? I'd drink it from a wine glass. And the shrimp Alfredo? If comfort had a flavor, this would be it. I felt like I was being hugged from the inside out by a shrimp slinging angel. I now have a new favorite restaurant, and I can't wait to bring my friends, my family, and possibly a few strangers off the street just so I can watch their faces light up. The service was top notch! Sali's, you've earned a loyal fan. I'll be back. Probably tomorrow. read more

From the moment you step through the doors, you're greeted with the unmistakable aroma of true Old-World Italy--warm, fragrant, and absolutely intoxicating. This isn't just another Italian restaurant; this is a culinary experience built on tradition, craftsmanship, and genuine love for the art of food. Every ingredient is prepared fresh daily, and you can taste that dedication in every bite. The house-baked bread arrives perfectly golden with a delicate crackle, giving way to a cloud-soft interior that begs to be dipped in their rich, velvety balsamic glaze--also made in-house from scratch. The pasta is hand-rolled, the pizza dough slow-risen, and each sauce simmered to perfection, layered with depth and flavor you simply can't fake. Their seafood offerings are a standout, with rotating specials that highlight the freshest catches available. The calamari alone deserves its own spotlight--lightly crisp, tender, and widely considered the best in DFW. It's the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. And just when you think the experience couldn't get any better, dessert arrives. Never the same, yet always authentic, each creation is a delightful surprise that stays true to Italian roots--decadent, elegant, and unforgettable. read more

Based on my initial review, I was thinking it was a stand alone restaurant but this location is in a strip mall with other businesses and restaurant. There are lots of parking spaces in the plaza. This is a small restaurant where you order at the counter and then grab your table. The decor is cute and I really liked the light fixture. They brought Texas sized garlic rolls to the table with garlic infused olive oil. The waitress at the counter and the server were very friendly. The food came out quickly even though they had a hopping take out service. The food was decent. My gluten free pizza with no cheese was ok. The table favorite was actually the olive oil brought for the garlic bread. read more

My friend and I visited yesterday and we will definitely be going back. Aside from how incredible the food was, the service was even better. The sweet young lady who helped us was so beyond kind and attentive. She really did go above and beyond. Even the guy who was working the back came out to clear our table. The restaurant itself was very clean and new. read more

Sali's has a new owner, who is extremely friendly and welcoming. The salad greens were crisp and the house dressing delicious. Warm garlic bread was brought to our table with side dishes of oil with herbs and a homemade vinaigrette. Both were excellent. We chose half meatball and half cheese pizza. Generous amounts of meatballs were on the pie along with the right amount of sauce and mozzarella. The crust was perfect. The establishment was very clean with freshly painted walls. Tables along the walls had high back booths. If you haven't been to Sali's lately, I recommend you visit and enjoy the pastas and pizza. read more

Very disappointing. Based on look of establishment one might assume a hidden gem of authenticity, but it's not real. Food was clearly highly processed prepackaged - and the sloppy cutting of the tomatoes was a clear example of the passion in the food. The dough of the flatbread appeared to be out of a package - very processed and frankly not good. Profits might be better, but passion for quality Italian food has been sacrificed. Would not return and recommend, but service was acceptable so gave two stars instead of one read more

The food was amazing! I had meat lasagna that was the best I ever had. The rolls were amazing. The cannoli's were also amazing!! Large selection menu too. Can't wait to go back in the near future as there are plenty more options on the menu. read more

Had dinner there tonight and met the new owner who will be changing the name in January to Bari's (I think). Been a long-time customer for Sali's and liked it, and it was even better now. He said he upgraded several things and it showed in the pizza dough and the bow-tie pasta with pesto that we had. Very nice owner that seemed to really care about what they were making - always nice in this age of bland franchise food. Two thumbs up. read more

I got the lunch special, which includes salad, angel hair pasta with meatballs and bread. The house dressing was pretty good. I really liked the marinara sauce and meatballs. Stopped in for lunch first time here. Very hospitable and delicious food. Our family will definitely be back!

I used to love this place. I believe it's been taken over by new owners. The good: the owners are super nice and really aiming to please. They've done some remodeling and the place looks great. The name & menu (for now) have not changed. BUT. I can taste the difference. Was this place bad? No. Not at all. It was decent. Same rolls, just no butter, now olive oil & seasonings, which tasted fresh. Same house salad and same Look of the house dressing but definitely not the same Taste. My go to is the chicken parm sub. Again, it was fine. Although, this is the first time I willingly handed over my leftovers to my husband. The sauce is different. I don't know how, but it is. Would I go here again? Maybe. But do I like it as much as before? Sadly no. read more

Love stopping in for lunch the food is always on point, the staff is so friendly. I love the fresh flowers on the tables!

This place is a literally a tiny little restaurant that has great food. You'd never guess that a restaurant in a Tom Thumb mall would be this good. Only trouble is that there are more people working there than customers and it's so little that it will never be romantic with all the staff standing around listening to you. There's no other place for them to go except10 feet or less from any customer and the staff is all kids. To bad they could be great with a little tweaking. read more
