Jeanine was our server and she did a fantastic job. She was kind, attentive, and helped us pick a great selection of drinks. We ordered the filets, side broccoli, macaroni & cheese, & Brussels sprouts. Everything was absolutely delicious and to die for. We left happy campers. The experience here was flawless. We will certainly return.

Most hotel restaurants are generic and provide food simply for convenience. This is not one of them. The sitting area, bar and dining area are nicely decorated and furnished, a slight notch below higher end steak houses (like STK, Capitol Grill). Most patrons, like myself, were dressed business casual. Hostess was welcoming and friendly, and water order taken and filled immediately. The server was eager to answer any questions and offer suggestions. When I couldn't decide between two soups, he offered a taste of one, without prompting. I ordered the lobster bisque - on the saltier side but delicious flavor. Not too much sherry, and the lobster pieces were the perfect size for multiple spoonfuls. Just wish there were more. Wedge salad with grilled shrimp added - crisp lettuce and generous tangy blue cheese, creamy dressing and smoky bacon pieces. The grape tomatoes had a burst of sweetness and the shrimp was grilled perfectly. My favorite part of the meal came in the complimentary bread basket: a pop over. Light, crusty with a thin chewiness inside. I could've eaten a whole basket of those as a meal.

Came for the thanksgiving day buffet dinner. Was a very cute and classy venue in the La Salle Hotel. Attentive black tie service. The buffet had a carving table, seafood cart, and tons of sides and desserts. It was delicious. The drinks were tasty. Kid friendly options too. Very nice time w the family.

Service was amazing. We came for a graduation celebration with ~10ppl. The room is gorgeous and our server was phenomenal. The food was ok but has gotten noticeably lower quality for many of the dishes that were on the menu previously. Like lobster thermidor? But with gnocchi? No, terrible, flavorless and not lobster thermidor. There was little flavor, none of the traditional fixings that come with lobster thermidor, and the little tiny chopped pieces of lobster was definitely not what I received the last time I ordered this at this restaurant.

    Steak Frites Dinner Potato Puree

Our waitress, April was attentive just a little standoffish and in a hurry. My meal, wedge salad was pretty good, crumbles a bit sharp/puckering. Steak frites was set on mashed potatoes and outside the sauce the steak was bland. My dinner companion ordered shrimp de jonghe and twice baked potatoe.Which upon eating the potato discovered it had an off flavor and discovered corner of it was black. Our waitress and the manager excused it away first indicating it was burned but that's not what it was. In the end an apology was given and the meal was simply comped. Didn't take a picture of that

Mac and cheese. Delicious, but about the same as other places.

Everything here was delicious from the bread selection to the New York Steak, to the potatoes and the Mac & cheese. All very good. The only problem was the steak came not cooked enough. Ordered medium but got medium rare. But I sent it back to cook a little more and it came back perfect. The service was great. Lots of people making sure you have a great experience. I would eat here again.

Irene at the host stand was so welcoming and warm. She made me and my service dog feel right at home. She even made sure we BOTH had water. Nate at the bar made great recommendations. The Caesar salad is delicious - very light and citrus-forward. The wine selection is amazing. Prisoner company - the famous blend and the zin (Saldo). If you prefer heavier Pinots, they have Lyric by Etude by the bottle. Roasted chicken was like Thanksgiving on a plate. Two thumbs up!

I have to give it up to the hotels that serve food and do it perfectly. Grill on 21 did not disappoint my friend and I during a nice lunch for restaurant week. (Missing cocktail photos) We arrived super early before the lunch rush and thank God we did. The staff - a thousand hand claps - they were quick, attentive, assertive and knowledgeable. They paid attention and kept an eye on us. Each time I finished a dish, there was someone nearby to grab it. The food was great. The lobster bisque had actual pieces of lobster and lemme tell ya ,.. they weren't stingy. The pieces were so large I cut them to even them out as I ate. The bisque was thick and creamy. The flavors were there. Oh! My friend and I didn't need the salt or pepper the entire visit. That's a first for me Poke bowl- fresh raw tuna and salmon. Couldn't miss it. It was on the sweet side for me but I appreciated the portion size. I was able to finish it and still feel energetic and not weighed down. The salmon was a large portion. Usually restaurants give thin or skinny slices of salmon and attempt to ration you out with starches or veggies. Not here. They also gave butternut squash and sweet potatoes. I loved the variety of veggies given to elevate the flavor of the perfectly crisped salmon. My heavens honey pannacotta did what it needed to do! Mmmkay! Very rich and didn't taste like gelatin. They even sprinkled pistachio on top and that's a winner for me. I will be returning. Now I know my money won't be spent in vain.

    Steak and Eggs Brunch

Grill on 21 is a beautiful restaurant located on the 21st floor of the La Salle hotel. Location is right on the edge of the financial district. We decided to come here for our last meal of restaurant week because we wanted to try something different. I wish we would've looked at coming here for dinner because the menu seems divine. For starters we got the lobster bisque, which came with old Bay season croutons. The lobster bisque was really good and you could actually see chunks of lobster included in the soup. For brunch we got the steak and eggs, which is included potatoes and toast. The steak was good and was served with a delicious chimchuiri sauce. The last item in our brunch for restaurant week was cheesecake. Overall just a really nice set up and well worth the money spent. I really like this restaurant and would come back for dinner for sure or even to bring people for drinks that are from out of town. I like that not only was the restaurant located up high with a view but there were several seating areas there was a library, area a full bar, and a big party area. Our server was also very nice I believe his name was Rory.

    Grilled Octopus. Best dish!

Went here on a friday night and this place was amazing. When we first walked in, it was quite empty at 8pm so we had some iffy thoughts but this place turned out to be a hidden gem. It was also very quiet when we walked in but thankfully music started playing around 8:30pm. About the food, the grilled Octopus was absolutely amazing. The char, salt was perfect and it was very comparable to some of the best ones we've ate in Greece etc. The lamb chops and ribs were also great on top of the drinks, making this dinner one to remember. Our server was really nice too. Highly recommend!

THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM - if you haven't come here yet, you are missing out. Buddy and I are out here for vacation and we have made reservations at the Michelin places. Thankfully we were too tired to get to the caviar place on time and we ended up in this place. It is the land of yes, we love yes. We had the caviar set, the steak tartare, the steak Diane with Foie Gras and truffle oil and the opera cake. 11/10. Service was phenomenal - Chris is amazing, we love him. LIVE JAZZ Friday and Saturday evenings. Pics of the place do it no justice. It's a speakeasy vibe in an art deco hotel. 21st floor. Magical. You don't have to save this for a special occasion, it's not too pricey at all. Make it a regular date night spot. We will be flying back specifically to come here. XOXO Grill on 21, we love you!!!

    Kathleen W.

Ordered from here through room service at the hotel. The egg, game and cheese croissant was excellent but a little watery so it made the croissant soggy. The potatoes were a bit cold and some pieces didn't taste fully cooked. The berries with lemon cream were also very good. The creme was extremely light! Bacon was okay for us but if you want crispy, make sure to mention it. The actual restaurant looks really nice and their menu looks good too. Live Jazz music on Friday and Saturday night

Also the ice cream was amazing! The standout for the table, though, was the Brussels sprouts--crispy, flavorful, and gone within minutes. She absolutely fell in love with the place and said she was having a great birthday. She wasn't planting seeds, I swear, but our server, ever the professional, said he'd take care of us. And he did, punctuating our dinner with a wonderful dessert with a birthday candle. Speaking of candles, the focaccia appetizer came out with a lit candle that melts a tasty, buttery dipping sauce. I had work done at the dentist earlier, so I had a hard time eating. Every bite was painful, but I heated up our leftovers and fell in love with my rigatoni with vodka sauce all over again. Yum. Especially not a good dinner option despite being excited for it for our Valentine's Day dinner. Food- really liked Caesar salad and Mac n cheese. However, this is a steak house. We ordered ribeye in medium and NY strip in medium rare. However, ribeye was medium rare and ny strip was cooked medium well. I considered telling our waiter but he never appeared at our table to ask about how our food was. He showed up half an hour later to ask if we wanted dessert. I didn't eat my ny strip because it was so dry and my husband had a few bites. Service- as mentioned above, the server barely showed up. Also our food arrived later than everyone next to us. The couple next to us got sat down after we put in our entree order and get they received their entree before we did. No apologies or context given on the delay. Also, I know they offer half orders for certain dishes like salad for takeouts and deliveries and saw older TikTok videos that mentioned getting half portions too. We asked if they do half portions so we can try more items in the menu, we simply got a "NO" without any kindness or explanation given. It was said as if we were asking them something stupid. Ambiance- I think the bar area is nice looking, but we were sat in the basement. It was crammed, the tables were small, and because it was a small room, you can really hear other tables conversations. For casual restaurants I don't mind that type of ambiance but if we are dropping more than $300 for 2 of us, I am going to compare it to comparable places in that price range: Bavettes, Gibsons, maple and ash, swift and sons, Alston, etc. this is significantly lacking compared to all of those "nice steakhouses". Theres not even a coat check. Also our leftover was packed in a cheap black plastic bag. Once again, not matching with the price point. We are locals and were very excited to try this place not far from us, but sadly, it was a truly disappointing experience and if anyone asked me if I'd recommend this place, I would say look elsewhere.

However, my experience at Perilla Steakhouse was hands down frustrating. Upon arrival, things were off to a rough start when I could barely hear the server over the music. At times, I felt like our server was rushing us through our meal based on how much less attention he gave us versus the other tables. I'm not someone who needs my glass refilled every minute either to be clear, but things did feel off with how slow our meal was paced out and the general disinterest the server had in us. For reference, we arrived early to a nearly empty restaurant that hadn't started peak dining time yet. I recognize the steakhouse is an upscale, chic take on traditional Korean dishes and I admire the chef for sharing his culture with the city. I also understand restaurants are going to be more expensive, the closer you are located in relation to downtown. Even so, in comparison to other nearby high-end restaurants, the price to portion ratio for our meal felt off. For example, our $16 dumplings included 3 dumplings on a plate. Yes, there's an argument for inflation and the cost of quality ingredients, but I argue that at this price point we shouldn't have left hungry either.

For starters, we had a reservation which I would recommend. We were seated right away and while the place is large inside, I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like. The food: we really enjoyed the octopus, escargot, I had the Filet Mignon Au Poivre, and the banana/coconut entremet. The octopus was tender and flavorful; octopus cooked right (especially in smaller pieces) is hard to find so I was impressed. The escargot was nice and buttery/garlicky, and piping hot. I LOVED my Filet with the green peppercorn cream sauce! It was delicious and my husband was surprised I ate so much of it. It was cooked exactly as I asked, the meat had good flavor, and the sauce was delicious and well balanced + the right consistency. Lastly, the banana and coconut dessert was a pleasant surprise. The banana flavor was fresh (not artificial) and had the right balance of coconut. It was creamy, not too sweet, and had the right balance of textures with the outer coating and the crumble underneath - if you like banana or coconut at all I'd say it's a must order! The creme brulee was just okay. My issue was the service - the table next to ours LIT ON FIRE because a menu was over the top of a candle. After burning half the menu and the fire was getting larger, our partners ran over and put it out with their napkins. They yelled and there was NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the staff at all - at least 2 staff saw and one waiters eyes got big for a minute and she turned away. Not even a thank you from anyone to our partners for putting it out, and they had to ask for new napkins because theirs had black char on them. We were in the middle of enjoying our appetizers and my friend was just digging into her French onion soup from our first round and the staff kept trying to take our plates away. My friend had to tell them 3 times to please leave the soup at the table, and overall made us feel very rushed. We weren't taking a long time to eat at all so felt very weird? When the entrees were dropped on the table, my friend got a steak and they kept trying to give her a butter knife. It took multiple attempts to get the correct knife. Then once we were done eating it took a while to get our plates and old glasses cleared away. Overall service timing was off and their aggressiveness in the beginning of trying to take our plates away + the lack of response to A FIRE in the restaurant was pretty alarming. While I enjoyed the food there, the service was pretty bad and I feel unsafe with the lack of response to a fire in the restaurant so I don't think we'll return.
