The place is very nice for date night, service was great attentive managed the order and speed so we had great slow night Steak and food was very good high quality. Had a pianist playing. Dark wood and low lights make for a great ambiance.

Made for a very special birthday while visiting family in town. Impeccable service, ambience & food. Delicious! Rum punch also yummy. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Everything was really great. Note that besides the salads, there's only 1 vegetarian meal on the menu and it was cheesy tomato in a crust like a pot pie kind of thing. My son said the rib eye was the best he's ever had. It's pricey. The service is wonderful. If you can get past the high prices, you must visit.

Where do I begin?! I'm a local from Charleston but I'd never been to this restaurant. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for 5:30 and it looked like we weren't going to make it on time. He called the restaurant and they were able to push the time one hour with no issues. Service was very friendly and convenient to make the reservation. I was worried about the dress code but I wore a nice sun dress, and my boyfriend wore a nice polo shirt, dark jeans and Timberland boots. I really thought we wouldn't be allowed in but it was not an issue. We were sat right away and immediately greeted by our waiter. He was very friendly and helpful explaining the menu and drinks. I got a Sweet Tea Nitro-tini and it was so neat! The glass comes with a warning and you have to wait 3 minutes to drink it but worth the fun experience. The don't skimp on the alcohol! We ordered Oysters Rockefeller to start and they were sooo good! I could have ordered 15 more, they are delicious. We both ordered the Prime Ribeye and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Absolutely mouthwatering steak and grabbed a side of fried green tomatoes. The sides are family size so for two people one side would be enough with the main meal. Despite being full to bursting after dinner, we ordered a slice of cheesecake for dessert to share. It was a large slice and even the two of us couldn't finish it. The final bill plus tip was a little over $300. It's definitely a great place if you want to spend some money, but it's a once a year kind of place for me, great for a romantic date or anniversary dinner. If you have time go to the roof top bar and grab another drink! The food was so good I forgot to take more pictures.

Located in the Market Pavilion Hotel (Market & East Bay). Reservations highly recommended. Children welcome but not a restaurant for children. Great menu variety that offers "a taste of Charleston " and more ! Make sure you try one of their famous "Nitrotini's" (martinis w/nitro's oxidized)- think smoking witches caldron. Impeccable service- Thank you Mr. Jimmy! With so many good restaurants in Charleston, if your a steak lover, this place is a "can't miss"

This is our second time at Grill 225 celebrating our anniversary. We arrived early for cocktails at the well stocked bar. They serve "Nitrotinis" which are novelty cocktails with a dash of liquid nitrogen for effect. Our table was ready promptly at our reservation time and our server, Ben was friendly and well versed in the menu and preparations. Ben took great care of us and was attentive without being overbearing. All of their steaks are aged a minimum of 42 days and masterfully prepared. I had the ribeye which may have stayed on the grill a heartbeat too long but was still delicious. My wife had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Family style sides of baked potato and baked tomatoes were also delicious. Grill 225 is one of the more elegant and romantic restaurants downtown. With low lighting and heavy wood trim, the restaurant conjures up thoughts of an old speakeasy which suits the location of this restaurant. I highly recommend this for one of the best steaks downtown Charleston.

Service was great. Food was bang'n. Ambiance was a great southern Charleston charm. Everything was good. Cocktails were great. We will be back

I came here because they were known for the nitromartinis. It has been a min since I was last here but they don't have the drink I ordered. It was a nitromallow. Yep, it has liquid nitrogen with marshmallows on the top. It was basically like a s'mores martini. It pairs really well when you go up to the rooftop and enjoy it while watching the sunset. Service was wonderful, you get a cool show when the bartender prepares it. Honestly, I recommend getting any nitromartini. It was slightly expensive for a drink.

You can tell they really pay attention to the details. For dinner, we ordered the 8 oz filet and the mushroom risotto. The filet was cooked perfectly (medium rare just as we requested) and was everything you want in a great steak. The mushroom risotto was delicious and full of flavor, but for me (wife), it was just a bit too salty. My husband agreed. Next time, I would definitely ask for less salt because the dish itself was excellent otherwise. We skipped dessert, but honestly didn't feel like we were missing anything after such a great meal. The live music was amazing and really elevated the entire experience. The crowd and vibe were just as good--some people dressed to the nines, while others were in shorts, flip flops, and t-shirts with ball caps. It was a fun mix and made the whole place feel welcoming and energetic. Overall, an awesome experience and a spot we'd absolutely come back to.

She let us know they would seat us closer to our designated time but to help ourselves to a seat at the bar. Started with delicious cocktails with fun innuendos. Very strong. Lovely. The hostess came back later and escorted us to our seats - and the fun dinner service began. You receive a complimentary welcome cocktail table side - tonight was a peach gimlet. No notes! We decided to try a little of everything (thank you to our amazing waiter- he let us know serving sizes and suggesting splitting some appetizers). We had the scallops, Caesar and milk bread. I don't think there was a single morsel left on those plates. For dinner we had the wet aged ribeye with the bone marrow & salmon. Sides: steak fries, lobster Mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and asparagus. The steak fries were such a stand out. Wow. never would have thought but incredible! Dessert had to be the affogato & crème brulee. Everything was Devine. The restaurant is bright and airy and incredibly beautiful. We sat at the bar booths and there was a little blonde girl who was so on top of refilling our water that it became comical. She was such a doll! We were staying at the Meeting House Inn so were able to easily and leisurely walk to lunch and dinner. Service was excellent, true Southern hospitality, and the restaurant is adorable. Food was amazing, each of the four of us loved our dish and tasted each others as well: - shrimp and grits - 5/5, plentiful and plump shrimp with a flavorful sauce over creamy grits. This was not my dish so I only got a taste and next time we go back I'm going to get this for myself! - grilled salmon sald - 5*5, arugula, couscous, dried fruit, pine nuts, feta, lemon shallot vinaigrette (this dressing is so delicoius! I want the recipe!), two of us ordered this one and again, i got a bite and want to order this for myself next time (see the problem here?) The combination of flavors and textures was amazing. Rave reviews from all. - scallops or was it special flounder - 4/5, I can't even remember what I ordered and the fact that I cannot quite remember it but distinctly remember my friends' lunches means I did not order the right dish! It was solid but not something to write home about (or on Yelp about) - corn muffins - 5*5, i'm pretty sure the corn muffins came as the "bread" for the table and they were so yummy! We got there just before 6 PM, and although the restaurant was pretty full, they told us they'd try to seat us outside due to our party size. That worked perfectly since they had heaters going. They quoted us a 45-minute wait, but it ended up being closer to 15 minutes -- a great surprise. The service was seriously outstanding. I have zero complaints. Everyone was so personable and attentive. For appetizers, the beef carpaccio was my favorite. For entrées, we ordered the pork chop, tuna, duck, and lamb -- and we all shared bites. Everything was delicious. My pork chop did come out a little dry, but when I mentioned it, our waitress didn't hesitate at all. She immediately took it back and insisted on bringing a new one, making me feel completely comfortable about saying something. While I waited, she brought me a complimentary soup, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the replacement came out quickly. The manager personally brought out the new dish and waited while I cut into it to make sure it was perfect. She even came back later to check again. That level of attention to detail really stood out. To top it off, they brought out dessert and a round of champagne for the table. I wasn't drinking, and they noticed -- so they brought me a mocktail without me even asking. That kind of attentiveness is rare. The inside looked beautiful, and I'd love to sit inside next time to experience the full vibe, but outside was perfect -- not too cold, not windy, and overall just a great atmosphere. Overall, one of the best service experiences I've had in a long time. Highly recommend.

There were only two medium pieces of fried tomato so I do wish they put more in the plate but oh well.
