It's a good spot out there in the Hudson yards desert . Very nice set up of a restaurant with different pockets of dining options ,so somehow you can the intimacy. The menu is eclectic but friendly to all. We shared an excellent focaccia and a very nice chicken pate. The salmon was fantastic ! Very good wine in the glass options (even white!) Greywind is your typical overpriced fancy restaurant that serves small portions and charges big prices. Ordered the Salmon yesterday as pictured below and had the smallest piece of Salmon ever. In fact you should play spot the Salmon in my picture. The two small shrimps and clams were nice but they didn't make up for the tiny salmon. The starters were fine and they do serve my favorite local whiskey Fort Hamilton. Just a meh experience but they get an extra star for serving Fort Hamilton. read more

Food was interesting. Not as many vegetarian options as you would think. The drinks were good but they came halfway through our meal. The service was not great. The Cheese its were good but they gave so few that you wanted more. In fact it needed a dip or something to eat them with. My salad was delicious although a bit salty. Our mains were both very good. Really enjoyed my dinner at Greywind! The service is top notch! They did a fantastic job with recommendations. My old fashioned was just okay. But the cheese-it was very good (would be great on a salad). I was told the tuna tartare was very tasty (great sauce). The rigatoni was surprisingly good as well! And oh the focaccia was so damn good! It wasn't too crowded on a weekday afternoon. It's not the largest space, but it's decorated nicely and is great for a date. Would definitely return! read more

Giving 5 stars because I think this place deserves 4, not 3.5. Made a reservation on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience! Service was very prompt and friendly. They offered to check my bag which was great. It's so beautiful inside but the bar does sit near the door so once it's colder out I'd imagine it's uncomfortable to sit at the bar with the door constantly opening and breezes coming in. Food: Focaccia was sooo good (although I didn't taste fennel). The burger was definitely the right choice. It was huge and I took half home. Omg the waffle sundae was so good. The sour gummy worms weren't actually gummy worms, they were homemade fruit snacks basically and the whipped cream could've been more whipped and fluffy in my opinion. But it was still so decadent. Mocktail: the orange was basically an orange cream soda and was solid. $8 for a mocktail is always a steal. Lastly, someone made a comment about the door being heavy and I was worried I'd embarrass myself not being able to open it but it was zero issue. Maybe if it's windy? Lol. I'd definitely recommend to other people but given the limited menu I probably wouldn't come back unless they switch it up (I understand it's more farm-to-table and quality which is why it's a small menu, but not a ton of it was my particular taste). read more

Our food and drink orders were delivered to the neighboring couple first THREE times, and it became very slow towards end of our visit-- to the point that we decided not to order dessert because it took the server so long to come back. I don't think it was her fault, as I got the impression that there was one server handling all of the communal high top seating and several tables on her own. 2/5. Ambience: I did like the plates, glassware and the overall decor of the restaurant, although I agree with an earlier review that the door was weirdly heavy. They did have a coat check, which I also appreciated. But there was one big problem: the communal high top seating felt overly crowded and like way too many place settings had been jammed in. I was closer to the strangers next to me than to my spouse across the table, and it was even awkward getting our menus from the server because of how little space there was. Conserving space in Manhattan is one thing, but making you feel like a tinned fish is quite another. 2/5. Food: The "cheez-its" had good flavor, but felt incomplete, like they should have come with a dipping sauce of some kind. Without that, they ate dry and we didn't finish them. The main novelty was their size and softness compared to a regular cheez-it. Although the baseline flavor was good, I actually would have preferred them to be small and crispy since there was no spread, glaze, or dip to break up the one-note texture. 3/5. The chicken liver mousse, while it sounded good conceptually and the components on their own tasted fine, the flavors didn't really work together. It was like listening to an orchestra without a conductor. 3/5. The lumache pasta with duck was my favorite dish of the night. I thought it had a nice balance of textures, acidity, freshness and umami. 4/5. Cocktails: The beet cocktail was fairly straightforward. Not much complexity here, just simple clean flavors. Not very spirit-forward. If that's what you're looking for, you'll probably enjoy it (this was my partner's drink, so I won't rate it). I had the sour; again, low complexity and not much depth of flavor, but it doesn't claim those things, either. Also felt light and I didn't taste much of the base spirit. 3/5. Overall would have given it a 2.5, but rounded down because of the price point for the disappointing service and how uncomfortable the meal was at the packed table. Delicious food and fabulous service. We celebrated our 8th anniversary on a Monday and had the most wonderful meal. Our waiter Marcello and all staff were so attentive, informative and fun. The chef is truly clever. The flavor combinations (e.g heirloom tomatoes with raspberries) really works. they recommended the chocolate tart. It was tart meet s'mores. Sweet but not overly so. There are huge windows with great nYC views. we had a cozy banquet table.It also looked like there was an outdoor area with board games. We are excited about our discovery. At an odd location on 10th, this restaurant is very attractive and has a nice vibe. We enjoyed our gimlets with the delicious sourdough made in house and "cheese-its". Had the burgers, chicken, and sea bass all of which were delicious. Try the cornbread too! The four of us had a lovely evening not feeling rushed for a change. Greywind is one of the new additions to Hudson Yards that seems to be worth a visit only if you work and live in the area. I came here with two friends and immediately loved the ambience. It was very upscale chic and had a hidden lounge downstairs and a bar upstairs, both which I believe you need reservations for. Though we didn't realize it was a tapas place, the portions were still atrocious. My friend ordered a salmon that just had one piece of fish, barely a 1/3 of what one would normally have on their plate along with 3 pcs of shrimp and 2 clams for $30-something dollars. The quality of the food was very good but the let down is the portion of the food since my mother friend ordered the sea bass and had a similar situation. The winner was the gorgeous 3pc giant scallops and polenta which is perfect to share or have on your own. Another acceptable dish was their carrot hummus. The giant cheez its? Probably worth it only if someone else or your corporate card pays for it. read more

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype at all. First thing: check in staff was a bit stuffy and not warm and pleasant. Almost felt like the host Jean was doing me a favor by sitting us and checking my coat. Next thing that awful heavy door every time it opens the whole restaurant gets a wind chill/breeze. Now on to the food. Mediocre at best definitely not NYC top level food and we tried everything literally everything lol. Chicken was probably the best tasting thing and it was just OK. The deserts were sadly just ok as well. Everything was just tasteless and needed some flavors. The restaurant itself is super cute and luxurious but the food was just not good. We were a group of 6 and we all agreed. Good but nothing special. Would not be running back unfortunately but I wish them luck. read more

Restaurant was already full on a Thursday night at 6 pm. Luckily we had a reservation. There are 3 types of seating - dining table, high top and shared high top, so be sure to specify when making your reservation. The bar was also very busy, 2-3 deep. But the acoustics are good and there is no muzak so you can hold a conversation. The service was helpful and attentive. The "placebo" cocktail menu was fun and there is a nice list of wines by the glass. We really enjoyed the chicken liver pate appetizer and the celery root schnitzel. The black garlic sauce for the French fries was superb. The fries were just so so. And the rotisserie chicken needed salt. Micheline Star quality food at accessible prices, Greywind is a great place for a date night or special meal focused on fresh seasonable food. We had a fantastic meal of vegetable dishes and meat and potato dishes. They also baked their own bread and make some of their own cheeses. Everything we tried had amazing interplay between flavors and textures. Cocktails were delightful. The desserts were absolutely indulgent with the dark chocolate tart and strawberry crumble being our favorites. Service from our server Rob was impeccable and the atmosphere, despite being very busy, was never too loud to have a conversation. Delicious spot over by Hudson Yards. I was already a fan of Loring Place and this menu seems to be a wonderful natural progression from there. Julio our waiter was terrific and super friendly. Cheese-It appetizer was a bit gimmicky but quite good. The focaccia with cranberry & ricotta was very good. The halibut and Pork Chop entrees were both excellent and worthy of a second visit. The Spygold lounge downstairs looks very comfortable and undiscovered thus far, so may be quite enjoyable if you're looking for something without a lot of fanfare. Service was great albeit a little confused by our party because we had normal diners, very specific allergies, vegetarians, and vegans. Appetizers were better than entrees. For the price point, the entrees were just meh... so I would recommend sticking to the starters, especially the fresh out of the oven sourdough. Had the MOST delicious dinner yesterday at Greywind. We had the tomato focaccia which is to die for, the tuna appetizer and fluke appetizer. Both outstanding and so flavorful. The corn salad is a must for the summer! Light but also so yummy and crunchy. The burger was so decadent and delicious with the perfect thick cut fries as well as the halibut which was light and crispy. The desserts and pastries are all amazing and so tasty. We found Greywind just on google maps and it was well worth it! This was my husband and I's first time trying Greywind. The service was great! We had multiple waiters and waitresses come over to ask if we needed more water or another drink. Also when the appetizers came out came over multiple times to ask how everything was and the dinner. Didn't wait very long for the drinks or food. I didn't know we would be sitting right by the kitchen which made the whole experience that much better. We had shared a dinner and drinks and the food wasn't bad, however when we sat down a large bug did fall on my friend and crawl in her neck and our table. The waiter killed it but there were also a lot of fruit flies. the decor was nice, but the bugs bothered me and I was also charged incorrectly on my credit card, I have called 4 times and still no one has picked up each time.
