Obscenely inefficient. Not sure why expected a business relic from last century to deliver packages on their stated timeline, but here I sit 16 days after shipment without my packages. What exactly is occurring during these 16 days? Per Google maps, it would take 6 days to ride a bike from DC to Austin. And it would only take 20 days to walk. So unless they get here soon, Greyhound will have literally been slower than walking my packages across the country. I received a call on Friday that my packages would be delivered this morning from 9am to 1pm. Then I received a message at the end of the window in broken English that they were actually being transferred to another bus station and that they would call me on a later date to arrange delivery. Not a word of apology in the barely coherent message. Do not waste your time with this service. Box it up and have UPS pick it up. The savings are not worth it. It took 25 days. I've been to a LOT of Greyhound Stations, as far as Texas goes, this is by and far the cleanest and most well kept of them all, it really puts Dallas and Houston to shame. (Probably because it's not downtown and overrun with homeless. read more

Can't believe there is no customer service person that will answer a call about a missing package. All Packages were delivered but one. Three weeks of back and fourth with the Philippines has been utterly frustrating! Promises of "We will call you back with an update". Customer service lieing that they are giving you the corporate number but give you the same number to the station the last agent gave you that nobody answers. Save your time and money and your frustration and pay a reliable company with an ethical and accountable customer service! read more

My stuff has not actually arrived yet so I will update my review regarding the delivery later, but I can confidently give this company 2 stars based on their terrible customer service. I placed an order on BusFreighter.com because it claims to save me 60% if I ship 5 boxes or more. My order for 6 boxes (250lbs) came out to be 228.50, which is about $30 cheaper than the Standard post USPS. about 1 hour later, I received the labels via email. When I drop-off my stuff at the station around 3:30 pm, the greyhound people told me they cannot find my order in the system and had to contact customer service. I waited about 20 mins to realize that their system has been "messed up" over the last few days. They told me I can take the stuff back or leave it here and they will call me when it's done (didn't say when). I called back the next day at around 9am they said they still couldn't process it and asked me to call back at noon. I called 3 times and finally someone picked up the phone and tell me to wait a minute. All I hear is a woman laughing and saying random things with people. Then they hang up on me. I called again and the staff says he is processing my stuff now, and it's likely that I chose the wrong drop-off time (which I didn't) when I placed the order online. (Yea it's my fault now...) I told them to email me a copy of the receipt with the tracking number when it's available but they can't do it. :/ He promises to call and give me the tracking number.. Oh well, we'll see.... I think next time I would rather pay a bit more and go to USPS.. read more

Destroyed the contents of two boxes. Boxes were clearly labeled fragile. The box itself was destroyed gaping holes with contents visible. Even the scarce greyhound staff (who do not answer the phones) said uh call us tomorrow if anything is broken. Ya think? Then I asked to fill out a claim form (guy had no clue what that was). I called the 800 number. Hauled the stuff back down there unnecessarily only to find out he thought id paid to have it delivered which I didn't. Claims examiner said not responsible. Shocker. Do yourself a favor. Pay the extra money to ship with a real cargo company. You'll thank me. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! read more

So I begin my shipping by visiting Fedex & UPS and come away thinking this is gonna be pricey. Problem is whatever I don't ship has got to be force-fed into the Saab and that's another story. Anyway, I'm running this by a friend of mine and he sez: "Why don't you check into the Trains or Busses." Trains? Busses? but outta curiosity I ck Greyhound, connect with busfreighter.com and the price is so much lower that both me and the Saab breathe a sigh-of-relief. So now instead of shipping 6-boxes, I windup shipping 9 at an incredible savings. I used the same cartons that I shipped from Japan, affixed 'FRAGILE' stickers to all 4-sides + the Top, printed 2-sets of labels for the Top and 1-side, taped everything including the side-seam very tight-n-solid, then drove them to the Greyhound Station in not too distant San Fernando, CA. At Greyhound I met Jose and he was very attentive, quik, and friendly. Highly recommend this Station and a Big Thanx to Jose for his assistance. Shipping time to Austin about 4-10 days or so. Drove away hoping for the best and began preparing me and the Saab for the drive and hoping for the best. 2nd day of the trip I'm into a Motel-6 in Fort Stockton, TX and a msg on my cell sez: Hi your shipment arrived in Austin, pleze call to arrange pick-up...Wow! I return the call, speak to Will, another very helpful person. I picked up the cartons, which now fit into the Saab...yes we both made it just fine. Will generously assisted me and I was on my way. Summary: Greyhound rocks. No damage, quick delivery, and reasonable rates that make it all happen. And the personnel Jose & Will... terrific people you'd be happy to meet, work with, and Trust. :-) read more

Called yesterday to find out what times they are open. They said 7-7. Arrived today at 7. Sign also says they open at 7. Nobody here. Went to the main bus station, and the ticket agent said "oh yeah, they never arrive at 7". It's 7:30 now. Still nobody here. read more

I know the local Greyhound bus station/service gets a lot of flak, perhaps rightly so. I haven't traveled long distance on a bus since I was a little girl... The local Greyhound Package Express, however, has met my needs and expectations when it comes to shipping oversize items. It you order the likes of vintage furniture online, they are probably the most economical means of shipping. How quickly you receive your item depends on bus schedules and space in the luggage compartment, so if speed is your primary concern, another method of shipping is advisable. They have yet to break or damage an item I have purchased, however, and they are always prompt to call when it arrives at the Austin terminal. You are responsible for picking up your item at the station, but the value you get for the money makes it worthwhile. read more

Excellent experience today. Joe worked with me and went above and beyond with my two giant boxes. I had a small child in tow and he made it easy for me. Greyhound got 2 large boxes here in 3 days even though there was a 3-10 day period for it. No traffic issues even at a 3:30pm pick up. Will definitely use in the future when trying to send something fast and inexpensively. read more
