This place was honestly terrible. My husband and I sat at the bar and have never been so ignored. It took almost ten minutes before anyone even asked us what we wanted to drink and then the beers were foamy. We were confused to get used paper takeout menus, like the kind you get at a sub shop because it looks nice inside, more of a sit down place. We ordered another twenty minutes later after having to flag down the bartender again. The fries and my husband's rueben were okay but my cheesesteak was awful, somehow both dry and soggy. We paid and left after again having to signal heavily to even ask for the check despite the fact that there were 6 staff members in the bar area and more around, all hanging out rather than working. Have ordered take out and delivery several times and the food and service are wonderful! Highly recommend the Greek fries (sooo good), Greek salad with grilled pita is super fresh, steak and cheese, steak tips and chicken kabob. I have been going to Greg's since they opened. It is like a formal diner. A huge menu of various different things from appetizers to full entrees. The service is fantastic and the people who run the place are wonderful. They always have something interesting on TV and the beer selection is terrific. During COVID-19 I have ordered dinner from them as takeout. It did not disappoint. read more

I wanted to love it as it is close by to my home. We stoped in on Sunday and had fabulous Bloody Mary's. Tonight we ordered 2 cheese steaks and a spinach roll. The spinach roll was not edible. Food quality wasn't good for the amount of money we paid. Had the surf and turf. The steak was cook perfect but not taste at all. The shrimp were big but no seasoning at all. The broccoli could've had some butter or drizzled in some kind of cheese. The mac and cheese was bland. Just a horrible experience. read more

We discovered Greg's Tavern in January and it quickly became our go to place. The bar is large, the staff is very attentive and the food was delicious. Then Covid struck and we could no longer grab a quick diner after work. We have been ordering food once a week to try to help our local businesses and we have had nothing but great food. Their quality is superior to almost any place in Beverly. The woman working the front desk is always pleasant! We can't wait for them to re-open so we can enjoy it in house!! We got a recommondation to go there. We went at 4p and they did not have the dinner we wanted. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table . The Greek salad was great and we ordered 2 lamb dishes and it was the worst lamb I have ever gotten. I got the lolipop lamb chops and they were sparse and burned, although requested meduim. My husband got the lamb tips and they were so tough. Bill was $75 for a really bad meal. Ordered takeout, super beef with just sauce, small Order of onion rings, and chicken finger dinner. Woman answering the phones/ takeout desk was less than pleasant and uninterested. Kept talking with staff about how bored she was and couldn't wait to leave for the day. Understandable, but don't do that in front of customers. Food was ok, the real treat was roughly an hour after eating, the food poisoning that took hold of me and the kids. Diner beware, hopefully just an off day for them, but one and done for me. read more

I've been to Greg's a number of times now since its opening, both for eat in and take out. I cannot tell you how happy I am with this great new place. Pizza, rice bowls, fish and chips, reuben sandwiches, steak tips.. everything completely delicious, fresh, hot and plentiful. Fish to go can usually be a little soggy by the time you get it home, but not so at Greg's. When eating in the restaurant, the service is prompt and friendly. The tables are nicely spaced and comfortable, so you're not bumping elbows with other customers. This is my new favorite "go-to" place, and it's going to stay a winner... they only have to keep on doing what they do right now! read more

Have been to Greg's tavern 5-6 time in the last month and a half after visiting one Friday night with my son just for a beer. Went back the next day to eat because I heard the food was real good. Well that was true. The food was fantastic. Roast beef, chicken fingers,chicken wings, fajitas,wraps, mixed grill and pizza. All were fantastic. The staff is great. Very friendly. Can't wait for the bar portion to open. Would highly recommend Greg's. read more

If you read any of my reviews you will notice I don't usually give 5 stars. Maybe I am a bit picky and I know I wouldn't be able to do it better myself but in order to get 5 stars I would have to be blown away by all aspects. I will say this. If there was a way to rate 1/4 and 1/2 stars Greg's would get a 4.5. Desperate to find something new from our standard list of options, my daughter said she came across this restaurant and thought we should give it a try. We ordered take out (We were still in phase 2) and were extremely happy with our meals. I ordered a full rack of ribs with the hopes that I would get 2 meals out if it and I did. The ribs were very well cooked and the sauce on the ribs was finger licking good. The amount of rice and corn that they added was a ton. The rice was tasty but the corn was a little bland for my taste but nothing that a little butter or salt wouldn't cure. My son ate a Gyro and was amazed at the size and taste of it. He thoroughly enjoyed it as did my daughter who ordered the Power Salad. My wife had the Combo Plate and enjoyed it as well. The portions were outstanding and the prices extremely reasonable especially when you realize you will have leftovers. It is definitely on our to return list especially since we have seen things on the menu we decided we need to sample. read more

Only have ordered takeout (due to COVID-19) and we were very impressed! The portions are massive and the menu can satisfy any picky eater. Most of the family got seafood and loved it. Each meal came with two sides plus we were given cole slaw. So much food and worth the price. I got the rice bowl with teriyaki chicken and it was amazing. We will be back! read more

I'm a snob about my Pizza. I don't like a big fat crust around the outside that takes away from my sauce, cheese and topping area. Bread fills you up. I like thin crust. So I took a chance and ordered a mushroom and pepper pizza. I asked for thin crust as I didn't know what Greek style means. The crust was perfect, crispy and left more space for the topping. Thick cheese was golden brown at spots and melted to show the topping floating in a sea of flavor. It was exactly what I had hoped for. My new 1st choice. I will never go the Greg's Tavern again. It's a sub shop with alcohol. The server had no idea what to do. He took our drink order and brought it to us. Then a few minutes later he brought more drinks because a different bartender made it again. Two drinks were made differently. We did get the second round free but my husband couldn't drink his because it wasn't made correctly. We ordered an appetizer. It was so funny when it came because it was only one eggroll and nothing else on the plant. No garnish or sauce. My husband ordered a sandwich which was good but there were no French fries or pickle but there were with my sandwich. The server never cleared our plates and asked about dessert. What really made me furious was the server didn't know what to do when we settled our bill. We gave him cash and a credit card to be split between two couples so he thought he was getting a $65 tip. I think the management is not doing there job. The server had no training!!!! The bartenders didn't know their job either!!! Shame on you!!!! read more

After hearing all the great reviews my wife and I decided to try Greg's. Since then we have gotten takeout there a couple other times. The first time they got my order wrong but my wife said her dinner was okay while I couldn't even eat mine. The 2nd time the food was a little better although they still got something wrong in the order. I caught it before I left and they corrected it. Tonight we got a pastrami dinner and a steak tip wrap with fries & cole slaw. The fries and onion rings were okay but everything else a huge disappointment. This place looks nice but in reality is no different than any other takeout roast beef place. A couple of Covid-19 observations. When the owner wears a mask he doesn't have it over his nose and he's constantly standing at the kitchen right where the food comes out. It's very simple, wear the mask the right way. They also are charging a Covid-19 fee to help cover the increased food costs. Tonight it was $3.17 on a roughly $33 bill. They conveniently do not tell you about this when you order or even when you pay. There's only a small sign about it on the register that's very easy to miss. I find this very shady and dishonest. You're lucky you're able to be open and have customers. Don't deliberately overcharge them and not even have the courtesy to disclose it. There are just better options out there. Average at best food and shady pricing. We won't be going back again. read more
