We have been living in Marblehead for over 10 years and just found out how great MINO'S ROAST BEEF was. I ordered the roast beef greek salad and it was very good. Husband ordered a small pizza and a roast beef sandwich and both were very good. The pizza was better than the local pizza joint. Also, the people were nice and they take credit cards which is a big deal as the local pizza joint does not which is very inconvenient. read more

When I first moved to town, I asked a longtime, well-respected local Marbleheader what the best pizza joint was. He answered fast - "Mino's Roast Beef" with certainty! "Huh?? The roast beef place has the best pizza in Marblehead," I asked!! Yep ... Guess what - he was right! Perfect mix of sauce and cheese and the undercarriage is always done just right (I order mine well done). I am shocked that Dave Portnoy has not yet done a "One Bite Pizza Review" here. It's a winner any way you slice it! Plain cheese is great all by itself, but I love the Buffalo Chicken pizza as my favorite. The Super Beef on an onion roll is also a gem ... gotta get it with heavy sauce and cheese. And the Greek salads are also high on my list of "gotta haves". The staff is excellent and always so gracious with coupons and such. Love this place. Keep it up Mino's ... oh and you might want to delete the "Roast Beef" from the name of your awesome place -- you can get overlooked by pizza lovers who think you are one-trick North Shore beef "pony". Bummer. After having modern butcher, Londis, Pete's, and even Jamie's I will never get a beef here at Minos ever again in my lifetime. When I ordered a beef from here last week the meet was more of a grayish dark color and tasted kind of sour and bitter. Really gross I had to throw it away. I am a huge fan of u guys Minos. You used to please me with quality of good food and recently the years have made it a decline in food. I hope for you guys to maybe step up the game on the beefs and even the food. My family got a bunch of pizzas for pick up including a plain cheese, Hawaiian, vegetable, pepperoni, buffalo chicken, and bbq chicken. To balance it out we had to get some greens so we also ordered Cesar salads topped with croutons and Parmesan cheese Pizza options were great and each tasted individually prepared and unique. I really enjoyed the veggie option as it was packed with tomatoes, peppers and onions! Usually places are cheap with the amount of topping but they didn't not hold back with any of them. The chicken pizzas were also good as it wasn't just chopped up chicken tenders but shredded sauced chicken. Salads were meh but also expected with getting a Cesar salad. Minos roast beef is a classic Marblehead restaurant, with their wide selection of classic American food, to delectable Mediterranean cuisine such as the pizza, subs, and gyro among others. Their fries are very good, and almost are like McDonald's fries but McDonalds fries are gross, on the other hand, Minos fries come with a nicer crisp and they may use a different (and better) frying oil. Their pizza is decent, my only complaint about the pizza is there seems to be a varying pizza quality/ingredient amount, what I mean is I'll get a slice with lots of sauce that is less cooked; or a slice with more cheese that has been almost crisped, as well as minimal tomato sauce and a stiffer dough. Although insignificant I would like to add that. Their salads are very good and the Greek salad with grilled chicken is my favorite item on the menu It's not really a sit down restaurant and is just a place where you order, wait, and the food will come out quickly, similar to fast food. The food is great but the girl at the register wouldn't allow me to order a Jr beef 3 way on an onion roll which is wicked unfortunate cause every north shore beefery allows this. I've been eating here for years and had pretty much everything on their menu. It's your typical sub shop in a small town. What makes this place special is the owners Leo and Mario. These guys treat everyone especially the young kids of the community like their own and they are always willing to step up and give back when they can. How many places like this do things like that???? I won't hold my breath!!!! That alone will always make me a loyal customer. Pizza is always great and is my personal go to!! read more

My dad recommended Minos because he said their hamburgers are awesome. Ordered one hamburger and one cheese burger both with everything on it. Picked up and got home to fine we got just a patty, a literal cheese slice corner, and the bun. Not to mention both were cold. We would have been better off getting a burger from 7/11. Have come her many, many times and recently got food poisoning, took the owner days to respond to us and said "sorry, hope you're feeling better". Would not refund us and said we had to come back in when we were unable to do so. My SO just went to pick up salads (big mistake on our part) that were supposed to be ready an hour ago, they aren't even made yet and then they got the order wrong. The people that answer the phone are ALWAYS rude and make you feel like you're bothering them by placing an order. They never take a name or a number before hanging up on you. This place has gone downhill from already being not great. Plenty of other friendly, food-safe consious places in town. Supporting small businesses goes both ways. A bad day now and then is one thing, but I've never not had someone be rude when they answer the phone here. read more

Absolutely the best cheeseburgers that I have EVER HAD. And I've had cheeseburgers all over the world due to my military service. I ventured out of my comfort zone today and had a Philly Cheese Steak. OMG, I have another great day sandwich!! The staff is as amazing as the service. Levan and Mario are the dynamic duo if the restaurant business! Go there if you're hungry or even if you're not. It's worth it. I have been dedicated to Minos Roast Beef for over 20 years...by far the cleanest place in Marblehead and the quality and quantity of food is unparalleled. ...the owner couldn't be nicer, always there and takes care of every customer! I no longer live near there, but Minos is an excuse to go back every time. To top it off, their adding pizza to the menu was long overdue...by far the best pizza in town! Are used to live in Marblehead this is a great place to eat but I can't say the same any longer. I came with five people to show them the place that I used to love roast beef. We placed our order and after nearly 40 minutes it came out. The beef was tasteless and after my wife discovered metal shards (Yes. she bit into rather large pieces of metal) throughout her roast beef sandwich. When I brought this to the store managers attention he shrugged his shoulders and said "oh that must be from when we were cleaning the slicer.... sorry ". Then went back to work. No offer to refund or anything. He didn't even stop to inform the staff still making sandwiches. This place is no good, and doesn't give a crap about their customers. Try Kelly's roast beef or Bill and Bobs. Better food and they care. read more

I went here to get a steak and cheese sub and fries. I called in the order and specifically told them I wanted a STEAK AND CHEESE for pick up. When I got there after paying full price for a steak and cheese-less cheese steak sub they had asked if I wanted cheese on it. I mean come on how do you screw up and order of steak and cheese. ITS STEAK AND CHEESE!!! They told me it would be extra money to add cheese. I looked at the sandwich and it was very skimpy with the steak and yep no cheese at all. I have ordered food from here before like a steak tip dinner and when I got it home there where only 4 cube pieces of steak about 1" in size, a ton of salad(mostly iceberg lettuce), a few greasy onion rings, and only a small handful of fries not even enough for a child and the whole dinner cost me $12! I could have got a better meal at a fast food restaurant! If you are planning to eat here CHECK YOUR ORDER AT THE COUNTER before leaving the place so you don't get ripped off or just don't eat here at all. I will not be going here anymore for lunch. Best roast beef on Northshore, hands down. Consistent, lean,rare,high quality beef, always moist,hot, and tender. A better quality beef than any other and I am Beef connoisseur. Georges in Lynn is good, bill & bobs on Rt. 1 near Kapys is pretty good. Land and Sea - Peabody, Johns and Minos(no relation) in Lynn are OK. But Minos is the best; significantly improved since new owner took over from Costas. Beef is higher quality and their Junior beef is like a Big beef anywhere else. Great cheese steaks too, as good as the old Earl of sandwich and Nicky's in Lynn. read more

Went to Mino's the next day after waiting in line for a disappointing omelette at the Driftwood. Got an espresso at the Java Sun and was the only one at Mino's. Large portions and the quality is amazing! Greek salad with chicken or steak timps is a staple of my diet, as well as the buffalo chicken calzone. I've never had a bad experience here.
