Gosht means "meat" in Persian, and this halal restaurant offers Josper-grilled steaks, burgers, and a range of regional dishes. It's in a heavily Russian-speaking area, and the staff is typically bilingual. The restaurant is well set up for families. It has a nifty little indoor play area and offers children's activities, including a "make your own burger" event. The burgers are precooked, so it's really an assemble your own burger activity. The instructions were entirely in Russian, requiring some of the children at our table to learn by watching. That aside, they all seemed to enjoy it, and some even ate their burgers and fries. We sampled fried pelmeni, bone marrow, the GOSHT Salad, lamb chops, and the GOSHT cheeseburger. The crispy pelmeni dipped in sour cream were delicious. I could have eaten an entire plate. The salad was also very good, with tasty, tender roast beef. The lamb chops were a bit salty but flavorful and very tender. And I also liked the fries which accompanied our burgers, they were hot and crunchy. The cheeseburgers were mediocre, and I wouldn't order one again. I didn't care for the bone marrow either, though others at the table enjoyed it. The supervised play area was a big hit and kept the children cheerfully occupied. There was enough toddler energy in there to power a city. Overall, Gosht is a very good choice for a family meal with young children, especially if you order the pelmeni.

I tried went with the Gosht burger and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I ordered the strawberry mojito for a beverage choice. It was sweet with alittle bit of strawberry taste. The burger was great though alittle small. I enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and the grilled chicken cutlets were soft. Overall, a decent meal. Definitely a nice place to patronize for a nice meal.

We ordered out drinks first and I asked for the Mai Tai to please swap rum for tequila . He said he would ask. The cones back with some S.... and really fake story . I asked him is your bartender new? Over whelmed that he can't do it? And he stumbled with his excuse i asked to speak to the manager . When manager came and gave the excuse with to many people arrived at same time WHICH was a lie since I looked right over his shoulder and game him the bs Look. He then said we ordered a specified amount of things for the drinks and alcohol we have in hand . I said okay forget it . Later on he said here you go we made one for you and it's free of charge realized they were not doing things how they should have been. We ordered the food and that started to come. The burger was highly recommended. Bronzino was really good ( flavors / doneness/ the look and just perfect) The lobster escargot was great as well perfect amount of garlic and nice chunks of lobster as well. The toast were cheap and just wonder bread like . And I like to dip my bread . And the burger was the biggest waste of 26$ for a burger . The burg e bun was triple the size of the burger itself.they ask you how would you want your burger cooked but the burger is too thin to be cooked to anything but well done. I didn't order a bun I ordered a burger . And a pimple piece of lettuce, 4 pickles , cheese ans suace. I wouldn't come back there again . Maybe just drinks

The service is lacking, but it is not the waiters' fault. The management and whatever system they have in place is disorganized, leading to being served the wrong food. Basically, one waiter takes your order and a different waiter serves your order. But because there is no effective communication, your order either never arrives or goes to a different table. I think whoever takes the order should also be the one to serve. It's a pity, because hadn't been for the lacking service, I would have stayed longer and ordered more food and drinks. I came with a friend and she loooooves food and drinks. Plus there was live music; all nice...but we just couldnt keep on repeatedly asking for the same thing over and over. I'm unsure if the mashed potatoes were made from scratch, but they were pretty good as well and they did give a mighty generous portion which I am saving for tomorrow to have with my salmon and broccoli as I have to start getting back on my healthy eating regimen. "LIVES UP TO THE HYPE"…read more For the last few years I've been seeing videos on Tik-Tok and Facebook's "Reels" about Brennan & Carr, a Brooklyn institution that serves a famous roast beef sandwich. Video after video of the sandwich being dunked in the equally-famous "au jus" gravy that had my mouth watering. But I live in Westport, Connecticut, and though I go into Manhattan a lot (I used to live in the East Village), a rarely have a reason or need to go to Brooklyn, and I know few people there, so my wish to sample a Brennan & Carr roast beef has gone unrealized. Until this past Sunday. I recently befriended a fellow pop culture enthusiast and author who lives in Brooklyn, and he invited me to his book release party for his family and friends at his home on Sunday afternoon. When I Google-mapped my driving route, I wondered if Brennan & Carr might be close enough that I could go there after the afternoon party. To my surprise and joy, they were 5 minutes away! So I finally got to try a B&C RB sammie. Of course, I asked for it "all the way," with cheese, onions, and fully dipped in the au jus. That first bite was like a little taste of (roast beef) heaven!!! That first surge of "hot beef" flavor is unforgettable! I was amazed that the hefty bun it came on was able to simultaneously soak up all that au jus without falling apart at all! It maintained its integrity all the way to the final bite. Which, by the way, I could BARELY finish, it was so filling! I came practically starving, and that roast beef sandwich so filled me up that I barely touched the (excellent) onion rings that I had also ordered! Upon leaving (with a "dry" sandwich to go, with the au jus in a cup!), I had a great chat with the man at the cash register (whom I think was also the manager), Patrick Stackpole, about our shared love for Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone (that's a whole other story!). Suffice it to say, Brennan & Carr's roast beef sandwich more than lives up to the hype!!! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna have my to-go roast beef for dinner!

I was not interested in the puppets, I'd say I'm actually more anti-puppet than not but the show was amazing! I found out there's a whole puppeteering subculture in this city, and there were lots of performances I wouldn't have even considered to fall into that genre. The staff were all great, really welcoming and engaging. The manager Patrick as well as the MC of the show were so well versed in both Coney Island, sideshow, and general pop-culture history. And the band put on one hell of a show, they do creepy noir/murder ballads that draw inspiration from Tim Burton and other dark artists. The bar has a museum and gift shop and runs events most weekends (magic shows, fundraisers, burlesque, etc.). Unlike the rides, Freak Bar stays open every weekend into the winter. $6 Coronas. What is a very cool historic spot could be an insane hangout if it wasn't for the sauntering a**hole pissing on a good time. I went in with a friend of mine and we are both huge Coney Island regulars. Her more than me. She's been past the place a million times and they're never open. She asks him about this in a friendly way, saying we love the spot and we've been dying to come in. His response is super snide, and the he pulls out his phone and shoves the website in her face as if we didnt think to look them up. We tried twice to talk to the guy and both times he was extremely condescending and unfriendly. Then he went behind the bar and proceeded to complain about us out loud, 18 inches away as if we couldn't hear. just for trying to have a conversation? We weren't drunk or belligerent, just trying to tell him we like the spot. Guy seems totally uninterested in what it means to own or run a bar, much less a cool ass spot like this. If you go on a night (whenever they feel like being open for business--better check the website!!!!!) when Patrick isn't there and it's just the bartender Jamie-- he is super cool kind and a great time. Wish I got time to or felt welcome to exploring the place. Hope it goes under new ownership or I won't be back to try again. cheers.

After trying a few kinds we can't even pick a favorite - they are all so flavorful. The buns are soft and buttery, the burgers itself are rich and perfectly salted.
