Two days ago I called them as I had read some of the reviews here on Yelp. My Frigidaire stopped making ice. They answered the phone on the first call and sent someone out within 45 minutes. Dimitry arrived and diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. I did not need a part or a repair just an adjustment. Icemaker is now working great. Woke up to our LG fridge not cooling. They came out within a few hours to diagnose the issue, which was a compressor failure. The technician explained the problem and the repair. The price was right for the work, so they came out the next day with a new compressor that had us cooling again. VERY impressed with this company. We had a Whirlpool wall oven fail, as the motherboard/electronic control was not regulating the heat and oven temperatures rose, significantly, overcooking the food and scorching parchment paper on pans. I called this company and they had someone out the very next morning, at 8 a.m., a wonderful technician, named Amal. Amal was friendly, professional and prepared, as he explained the possible problem (his prediction and analysis were spot on), before he disassembled the motherboard area and checked the temperature sensor, too. The motherboard was fried, but Amal said to find one for an oven more than 10 years old was hard and to get a knock-off online was a weeks-long process and not that reliable. I had, prior to calling, already checked and found "out of stock" and "discontinued" for this board. I was not hopeful, when Amal arrived. Then, Amal said that his company manager/owner, Alex, had repaired circuit boards repeatedly with excellent results. Now, we LOVE this oven, but do we love it enough to spend 2200 for a new one? No, not that much, if repairs can be done well. Three days later, Amal was back, installed the motherboard--and we went ahead and installed a new sensor, too, due to the age of the oven. As I write this, the oven is baking a pan of cookies, the temp is constant, and I think all will go well. Additonally, even on a rebuilt motherboard, Alex and Amal gave us a three-month warranty, which is going the extra mile, since this company did not build the original Whirlpool component, only repaired its surprisingly short life. The good thing is that, with a three month warranty on the motherboard and a six month warranty on the remainder of the repair, we'll full well know, in that period of time, if the oven "acts up," again. Even if it does, this company did everything they could--Amal and Alex--to be upfront, honest with customers, AND to save us both time and/or money. I will call this company, again, in a flash, I can assure you, and the online reviews--so high--are truly justified. One suggestion: Do give the company your appliance model number when you call, so they can troubleshoot ahead of time. A+ for this repair company and their customer service! read more

I requested work from HVAC & Appliance TechService FIRST to replace a residential washing machine part which I broke. Minutes after I requested a quote through the Yelp website in the mid-afternoon, they responded via email and offered me a choice of two time-slots for the following day. Amal, the service technician, was considerate, informative, and helpful; after verifying that the part I had described as broken was in fact broken, he looked up where an original manufacturer replacement was available, requested and received my authorization for the purchase and replacement work, and procured and successfully installed the replacement within a couple hours. Obviously the service was expensive (a couple hundred dollars in labor+fees plus the face-value cost of the original manufacturer replacement part) but that's just what repair service technicians cost; what I paid seemed commensurate with what I understood to be the market rate for this sort of work. I only order professional repairs as a last resort, but if I were in this situation again, I would be comfortable contracting HVAC & Appliance TechService FIRST again. read more

When my LG refrigerator stopped making ice and keeping food at healthy temperatures, I contacted FUSE. The scheduling was quick and easy, repair process transparent, and pricing fair. Alex was able to come by (on his birthday, even!), to diagnose, locate, and identify a tiny refrigerant leak responsible for the fridge's poor cooling. Additionally, this LG model has a known compressor issue, which I elected to fix at the time. Come to find out, it was covered by warranty, but LG is notoriously slow on part fulfillment. Alex handled that entire situation himself on my behalf, saving me money, stress, and weeks of time in the future. Additionally, he was more than happy to indulge my curiosity about how the appliance works at a deep, technical level, even though this took much longer for him. Alex is a hard-working and fantastic engineer, and an even more fantastic person. I really like this Austin, TX, company. I've had two different technicians out to fix two separate problems, Daniel and Kyril. Both were quick and fixed what was needed. A couple of weeks ago, Daniel was able to connect my new ice maker, in a few minutes, so it would make ice. Kyril came today to reattach my dryer vent tubing which had come loose from the vent to outside. It was a very tight area with both washer and dryer and he had to pull the washer out to get in back of the dryer. He did the work quickly, attached it tightly with a clamp (which it had not had before), pushed the washer back in place neatly, all in about 30 minutes. Also both arrived on time! I would be happy to have either Kyril or Daniel repair anything in my home because both seem very knowledgeable.. And for both projects, the charges were very reasonable. I will definitely be using Tech Service First the next time I have a problem--great Technicians! read more

Appliance Service First came to see if they could fix my refrigerator. They did an excellent job of diagnosing that it was not working because of a failed control board and the price was fair. He showed me what it was and how he checked it. He also gave me the model and part number. He had to order one and come back. I decided to try and fix it myself so ordered the part and did it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. I do appreciate them coming out to find out exactly what the problem was and giving me all the information so I was able to do it myself. Very quick, efficient and helpful service! After a power outage, the surge when regaining power put our fridge on the fritz. It was a frantic morning trying to save our groceries and find someone who could help repair it quickly, so we were very grateful that the Fuse team responded to our Yelp inquiry within minutes and Vlad was able to come out to diagnose and repair our fridge the same day. These folks were able to come out on the same day that I contacted them. My 6 year old front loading washing machine was making a strange sound when turned on and other than that did not work at all. I initially booked/communicated through Yelp. Then the company's text system let me know when the technician was on their way. When he arrived, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Turns out it needed a new motor. It was the end of the day, he left to get the needed replacement part and returned the next morning to complete the job. He also showed me how to clean the filter which will help the new motor last longer. I had no idea about the filter and never cleaned it for 6yrs, which led to the motor wearing out. The washing machine has been working perfectly ever since. The service was fast, the price was fair, and it saved me $$ from having to purchase a whole new machine. 5 stars. I called on a Tuesday and they scheduled a visit on Thu for a non-critical fridge issue. Then, they called me back and said that they could move me up to Wed if I wanted. They texted me the day of the service as well as when the tech was headed my way. Ali was very professional, got down to business and fixed what turned out to be a minor issue - charging the $70 visit fee to cover the work. He recommended a future fan replacement and will send me the estimate, but didn't put any pressure on me for immediate replacement of the part or the whole fridge. I'll probably ask Service First to do the repair on my 32+ year fridge because I liked their service. read more
