Our GE washing machine stopped in the middle of a cycle. I did my own research, watched YouTube videos and even called GE Help Line directly (no help there). Called Four Needs and started planning to visit Lowe's to buy a new washing machine. Made the call on Thursday evening and on Homero arrived Friday morning. Within 15 minutes he determined there was a clogged drain pipe (I had checked the drain yesterday, per YouTube). A small sock had gotten sucked in. I had an excellent experience with Four Needs. From start to finish, Carlo's communication was top-notch -- a rarity with many companies I've dealt with recently. On the repair side, Roger was outstanding. You could immediately tell he's incredibly mechanically inclined. Even though he'd never worked on our specific brand and model of range hood, he quickly figured out how to disassemble it and install the new motor -- something that would have taken me far longer to troubleshoot on my own and hours watching YouTube Videos. Four Things I Didn't Need: 1) I didn't need to potentially be exposed to Covid because the team did not wear all the protective items in my home as specified by the company. 2) I didn't need my new over-the-range microwave mounted and dismounted eleven (11) times because the team could not determine how to properly mount the new unit. 3) I didn't need the installation team to spend over three (3) hours and leave the microwave in the same improperly mounted condition it was in when they began their work. 4) I didn't need to have the kitchen cabinets in my home damaged and the side of the new microwave damaged by eleven (11) failed attempts to properly mount the microwave. Carlo was responsive to my appointment request for my leaking Samsung dishwasher and was able to schedule a tech to come out very quickly. The technician seemed very knowledgeable and determined to find the cause of the leak. Unfortunately after 3 visits and a few attempts at a fix, they were unable to correctly diagnose the problem and the leak continued. We had paid a few hundred dollars for the part they thought was broken and Carlo called me right away to apologize that they weren't able to actually fix the dishwasher and offered me a full refund. Incredibly honest and trustworthy company. I would use them again for other appliance issues. Fast, effective, great value and honest!! What a breath of fresh air Four Needs has been! My 4 year old Bosch dishwasher suddenly stopped working. My husband asked another Austin-based company to come look at it - they charged me $140 to tell me that it would be a $795 repair job because an expensive part was needed. I could not believe the price and I spent two weeks agonizing over the cost - and whether I should buy a new dishwasher instead of spending that much money on a 4 year old dishwasher. I have used Four Needs several times. They are excellent -- highly efficient and responsive to requests. They may ask to receive details of an appliance in advance, asking you to send a photo of the little tag in most appliances that gives the manufacturer name, model # and serial #. It is more common these days to call a repair person for modern refrigerators. I found a problem when my ice-maker in freezer malfunctioned. I read several reviews then called Four Needs. They sent a great service technician the same day. He was terrific! Explained problem and showed me the broken part. He agreed I could order part on Amazon, confirmed part number, then said he lived not far away and would stop by and put it in- for no additional charge above extremely reasonable service call. A week and a half ago, Four Needs technician created water damage to my home and Four Needs' insurance is not repairing it. I have shared this info below - that the technician was competent and made 3 errors - with Four Needs' insurance company and the company is trying to fight the claim. There is water damage to my house that they caused and that has not been fixed. I'm now looking at ~$15K worth of repairs and mitigation for mold damage. 1. The technician created a large pool of water on the 2nd floor next to the washer AND a large (4ftx4ft) pool of water on the 1st floor - meaning there is damage between the 1st and 2nd floors. 2. Three days after the technician left, I discovered that the technician shut the front-loading washing machine without drying it completely. Front-loading washers left open to dry completely otherwise they mold inside. An appliance repair technician should know this. 3. The technician said he could not fix this issue and a plumber was needed. My plumber, who came highly recommended to me and who my family and I have used for years, said none of his plumbers were qualified to fix the issue. A trusted friend with 40 years of maintenance experience; he confirmed that an appliance repair tech was needed - not a plumber. My handyman also confirmed that an appliance repair tech was needed - not a plumber. read more
