I moved to NYC and began my search on my own and had what appeared to be some success, but things never seemed to pan out. After a couple of months of not being able to find a space in the Greenpoint area, I hit the streets to find a broker to work with. I met with several different companies until I finally stubbled upon Greenpoint Properies. I'm so glad I did! I decided to walk Manhattan Ave and just walk into a few places. I was welcomed warmly by the staff and Victor took me to see a nice apartment right then and there. We also spoke about seeing another apartment the following day. I returned and was shown a great apartment and put in my application. Victor kept in constant contact (granted I was a little frazzled, so I kept contacting him too!). He reassured me through the process, which did involve some negotiations, but it went really smoothly. We were down to the wire and I needed a space within a week and Victor made it happen. I was a little overwhelmed, but Victor sent me all the information I needed and worked around my schedule to meet to sign the lease and get keys. We are just now settling into our new space and so happy to have found a conveniently located apartment will all the space we need for a reasonable cost. The landlord is friendly and attentive and we love our new home. Finding an apartment in an area of NYC that you want (for us it was Greenpoint) can be really exhausting and draining, but it was all made easier by Greenpoint Properties. My boyfriend and I moved out of our apartment because the plumbing broke in our building post-Sandy, and no one in the building had bathroom or shower facilities for a week. Our landlord refused to respond to calls or texts about the situation, other than to say, "Stop harassing me." We had to call the city to get the situation fixed, and when the 311 inspector came he found a gazillion violations: heat under 58 degrees in the winter, lots of mold, lack of carbon monoxide detector, lack of fire detector, hazardous tiles in the bathroom, in addition to the obvious, that no one could use the bathroom or shower because sewage would come up in the 1st and 3rd floor bathtubs. Our landlord hired Greenpoint Properties to re-rent the apartment after we moved out, and they accepted his business! We informed Mr. and Mrs. Wolski of our landlord's negligence. They could have just thought we were disgruntled tenants, but they had to know for sure that we were telling the truth upon visiting the apartment building. There is a city violation docket on the front door of our old building that is required by law to stay there. Just so you know, this business works with negligent landlords. Make sure to check the 311 complaint history of any apartment they try to show you. Or try to find a broker with more integrity. Or better yet, go for an entirely different neighborhood. if you are hellbent on living on Greenpoint, you should know that there is an unusually high concentration of negligent (and we later found out, racist) landlords here. read more

after an exhaustive two months of searching for a new apartment i was at my wits end and thought i was never going to get out of queens. everything that i was being shown as new and renovated was dilapidated messes with showers installed inside closets or i had to deal with pushy brokers who were just trying to close a deal without any regards to my wants and needs. miraculously, i some how came across victor and greenpoint properties and was shown a brand new fully renovated apt that was also rent stabilized that was perfect for me. i am not sure if this was just a fluke, but i would like to think it has something in part to do with victor and greenpoint properties and their ability to listen to what you looking for and be honest about what is available out there. he was also helpful throughout the entire process responding to all my emails and questions throughout and even following my actual move in. i highly recommend working with them if you are searching for an apt in the greenpoint area. read more

Our Realtor at Greenpoint Properties was absolutely wonderful. We spent a few days doing the networking/craigslist/random Realtor-thing. Then, out of the woodwork, 3 people suggested Greenpoint Realty to me. We called and met Victor and spent one day looking and felt like we found a great place. We hesitated and looked with another realty company the following day. It was an absolute nightmare of dodgy places in bad neighborhoods at astronomically high prices. We were hesitant to use a broker because we were working within a pretty limited budget, but after a number of frustrating and competitive Craigslist open-houses, we figured we needed to give it a shot. We found Greenpoint Properties on Yelp, and Victor was completely wonderful.
