He is, without a doubt, the most patient, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented realtor I've ever worked with (and just a lovely person to boot). Roman took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and worked tirelessly to ensure that every option aligned with our needs. He made us feel comfortable and confident at every step - always listening, answering questions with care, and offering practical advice when viewing apartments. When we finally found *our* apartment, he was with us every step of the way, helping us assemble an outstanding team of professionals who made the process seamless. He expertly managed the complex coop application, ensuring that we felt completely organized and prepared at each stage. Having him in our corner when we encountered roadblocks or issues, made the overwhelming moments feel far more manageable. We are incredibly grateful for his guidance in helping us find our forever home and for the team he built around us. I wholeheartedly recommend Roman to anyone searching for an apartment or home (and have already done so multiple times). Do yourself a favor--work with Roman!

If you enjoy having your time wasted, working with unprofessional, unorganized people, and being…read moreconned of your money, then Stephanie is the broker for you! I found a listing that I really liked on Facebook, and was set up for an appointment for 2 apartments with Stephanie. The first day, I met her at the first apartment that I wanted to see. I left work early to accommodate her request to meet at an earlier time. That's fine. I get there, it turns out she has no key. She starts calling and ringing for the tenants on the other floors. No answer. She takes me to a different property and reschedules the first apartment for a time the next day. I leave work early again to meet her at this apartment. Guess who doesn't have the keys. AGAIN. Her excuse was that the door to the apartment is not supposed to be closed. UM you already made me go all the way there once. Are you kidding me? She tries to call and knock on the door of the other floors. But to no avail. She blamed them for not answering when they were clearly home. Ok first off, it is no one else's job to open the door for you. Secondly, how do you not bring all the keys the SECOND time you make a client meet you at a property. At some point after 30 minutes of trying to contact other tenants, she tries to break into the apartment by opening the windows. I had to look into the apartments with my phone flashlight from the outside. Not really the best way to gauge a living space you will be bound to for a year. I asked her to send me the dimensions before I came back for a 3rd time to save myself time if it was too small and she promised she would deliver by the next afternoon. She of course didn't because "I was coming back again anyway." I texted her to make sure she had every single key for this building which put her in a terrible mood because she "already said she was going early to ensure that the apartment could be entered." By early, I mean when I would be halfway into Brooklyn from work which I left early to meet her. I liked the apartment, and stupidly started the application process. Cue another ridiculous scenario. I was told it would be 1-2 business days to get approval and get all the paperwork together to sign a lease. In addition, I made it clear that I will not be getting a guarantor. I was told that would be totally fine. After several days, I was told that I need a guarantor. Seriously? I established that on the first day of this ridiculously long process. It took another few days to get approved with an additional security. (It apparently took a long time because it was a Jewish holiday for the landlord but all of this would have been done before then if she just remembered the keys.) I signed my lease on October 10th for a move-in date of October 13th. The actual lease started on October 1st. The landlord and Stephanie confirmed that I could begin moving my things earlier than the move-in date. Now, here's the best part. There was supposed to be a cleaning and maintenance done on some minor open items (missing lightbulbs, handles, etc). Well, that list of open items was NOT attended to, in fact, there was a binder with all their applications thrown on the floor of one of the rooms. The things I had moved, and explicitly told her I moved, in writing, were found in the trash. However, all of my new items (comforter, candles, clothes, alcohol, etc.) were missing. Cue a whole mess. I moved into a 3 bedroom apartment, but rented a single room. I agreed to allowing them to show the apartment on short notice. But of course, no notice at all was given. In fact, one of the days I got back, my front door was open. I asked, and guess who showed the apartment without telling me or closing my door? DING DING DING Stephanie. Potential tenants are supposed to meet the people that live in the apartment before the lease is signed. I met a potential roommate 8 hours AFTER she made him an appointment to sign a lease. Note: At this point, I didn't even know the apartment was being shown. Props to the landlord for delaying the lease signing and telling him to set up a meet with me first. She has this "I can do no wrong. I'm too busy and making huge mistakes repeatedly is okay" attitude. We all make mistakes, and it's fine (up to a certain point), but own up to it like an adult instead of pinning all your faults on someone/something else. In addition to that, this company somehow managed cleared all its poor Yelp reviews off it's page. I have never been so disappointed by a company in my life. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

She went out of her way to accommodate my viewings and even tried to get the owner to convert a 2bhk listing to room share on my request. She was very prompt on replying and also gave a lot of thought to what my needs were and what area matched my price range. This is as good as it gets in NYC. I had a chance to deal with other agents in NYC too but none were as humble and jolly as her. Thank you for everything!

There are New York Minutes and there are New York Moments…read more A New York Minute is when something happens REALLY fast. A blink of an eye. AKA - how fast apartments move off the market in NYC (as I learned the hard way). If you don't act fast, the apartment you want is gone. A New York Moment is when things just line up perfectly. This is how I describe my experience working with David at Lang. I had contacted him about a listing and when he wrote back to me, it was already in contract with someone else (I told you - these things go fast!). A few days later, on a Sunday, he emails me out of the blue with a listing saying that apartment was just getting back on the market. Did I want to see it? Of course! So because I knew first hand how fast things go, on a Sunday night, last minute David met me to show me this listing. I saw my 27th (yes...27. That's how fast apartments go in NYC) apartment. And took it on the spot. Since I'm self employed, David walked me through exactly what extra/other paperwork I would need to show my qualifications for the apartment. He was super communicative with me throughout the whole process - texts and emails were answered surprisingly fast. I never felt like I was bothering him with questions or requests. He worked with me to move up the start date of my lease and facilitated getting me in touch with the super to get keys in (my) hand 48 hours after signing my lease. It was truly a whirlwind experience, but in moments of unease he assured me he was with me every step of the way, and even ended an email with how excited he was for me. I highly recommend working with David. He's enthusiastic, and clearly a people person. He leveled with me when the moment called for it and brought joy to the experience.

I saw a couple of properties with him & finally applied. He was charging me a huge broker fee even tho the city of NY got rid of broker fees. I believe I didn't get declined, I think he just saw that I wasn't a fan of the ridiculous broker fee he was charging.
