I have researched some companies servicing that route, but I wasn't completely convinced about how safe, comfortable, and reliable they would be. I am grateful that my coworkers recommended Vonlane, a premium bus service that operates between Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. The service is top-notch, more comfortable than flying, and includes complimentary meals, drinks, and snacks. They have a fleet of luxury buses with amenities such as free wifi, a restroom, and spacious leather seats. The prices are comparable to cheap flights, but the experience is more "refined", more enjoyable, and certainly more productive, especially for business travel. In my two trips so far, I have had no complaints except for a delay caused by a faulty audio system, which coincided with street repairs in front of the Hyatt Regency in downtown Houston (Vonlane's terminal). Passengers had to wait in the Houston heat with no shade for 30 minutes, leaving us sweaty by the time we boarded the bus. Despite this inconvenience, overall, my experience with Vonlane has been great.

However, the driver was very efficient and made up time in spades by seeing that I10 was experiencing massive delays due to a major accident ahead. He expertly navigated us around the backup and got us to our destination on time, despite the backup on I10! Musicians are a finicky group in general, but everyone was pleased with the bus, driver, and the long ride. When chartering a bus in Houston, you rarely get to actually talk to anyone in Houston. C&H is owned and operated in Houston and they made the reservation process simple and worry free. In fact, I just booked them for another charter to Austin and am looking forward to another easy trip with C&H.
