I was whispering the whole time a d I was asked twice to use inside voice. It felt condescending. The issue was the bus had such a howling sound. It was not quiet at all. The service is top-notch, more comfortable than flying, and includes complimentary meals, drinks, and snacks. First time using this company and it did not disappoint. Left San Antonio on the 10am and arrived on schedule. The service on board was excellent and the customer service by the staff was fantastic! I originally booked Houston to Austin (10/18/25) leaving Houston at 9 am . I subsequently changed my reservation to leave Houston at 12 noon for the same date 2 weeks out. I wasn't charged for this change. Original charge one way was $127. I finally changed the reservation due to last minute change in travel plans. However for this change, I was charged $20 per passenger for a total of $40. When I called them the evening before- they said they had plenty of seats available and the person said she could change it right now but I said I want to wait till the morning as my daughter was flying early morning- wasn't sure if there would be flight delays especially with the govt. shutdown. She didn't advise me of any fare difference. They really jack up the prices the day of travel if you make same day changes I found out later. Airlines namely United or Southwest don't charge for trip changes within 24 hours of original booking. On my return from Austin to Houston on 10/19/25, there was a woman talking loudly on the phone for approximately 30 mins and nobody said anything to her. I have been traveling with Vonlane for 6 plus years and I have never incurred any change fee. I have never had issues with them in the past but after this experience, I won't travel with them anymore. read more

Took the luxury Vonlane Bus from Dallas to Houston downtown and it was amazing. On time, first class seating, free snacks, drinks and lunch. I was recently diagnosed with cancer and decided to seek care at MD Anderson hospital. My husband and I are from Dallas and really did not want to stress out about trying to navigate Houston traffic or flights to Houston. Had heard about Vonlane and saw that they had multiple daily routes there from Dallas. When we called to book our reservations we told them about my situation and the phone representative was gracious enough to tell us that they worked with MD Anderson and if we called their Transportation Services they could help us arrange our travel. MD Anderson transportion services advised us that if we booked thru them we got a discount and would not be charged any penalties if we had to change any reservations with Vonlane if for any reason we had to stay in Houston a shorter or longer time. One less thing to worry about on this long journey ahead. Grateful to have Vonlane and their excellent service and their partnership with MD Anderson. read more

I traveled from Austin to Houston on the 7:00 am Vonlane. The drive was pleasant and the van was very clean. My friend and I were chatting quietly in the front row and were shushed by the attendant. I asked if someone complained as I could see everyone else around us was asleep and had been for some time. The attendant said that no one complained, but that she could hear us talking. In addition to her intrusion into our conversation, the driver was new (which was fine) but a person was talking to him for most of the trip about routes, exits etc. in a MUCH louder voice than that of my friend and me. I get the request for quiet on Vonlane trips. I actually welcome it. On my only other trip from Austin to Houston, a teenager across from me was watching a TV show on his IPAD loudly with no earphones. I was working so I found this incredibly annoying. No one asked him to put in earphones. I think there needs to be a consistent policy regarding the noise level on the trips. Other than the two noise issues, my trips have been wonderful. read more

Wow , wow and another wow ! When I say I am so glad I finally gave this Luxury Motor Coach Line a try ....... I'm still on a little high we arrived back into Houston moments ago. Kirkland and the Attendant(lord I forgot the name but she and the company knows ) were amazing !! My daughters and I flew to Dallas to visit the Great Wolf Lodge, and I booked Vonlane for our return. We arrived at the Dallas Double Tree Hotel.... They do not play about their departure time and I love that we were right on schedule! The bus was very well kept and looked just like the photos on their site , if not better ! The coach holds 22 passengers , which was like maybe 11 of us excluding the driver and attendant. The attendant checked us in while the driver loaded bags the attendant also gives the safety briefing once the doors clos. After the first 15 mins of the ride the attendant comes around with the snacks of your choice plenty to chose from and not off brand snacks ... the good snacks . The fare covers a light meal sandwich or chicken Caesar salad which is what I had and it was very good and fulfilling. Vonlane does have TABC license so they do serve wines and spirits aboard ! 9$ a mix drink, unsure of the wine price .... Very Reasonable still ! My daughters absolutely love the ride, sight seeing , the seats , the snacking and having access to their phone service was a plus!! We arrived HOUSTON right on time (depart Dallas 12-345pm Houston arrival ) without incident and the bus ride was very smooth ... the restroom was very clean and new looking much better than a planes rest room. Kirkland was an amazing driver as safety was his number 1 priority!! Doesn't get any better than that! We tried Vonlane after a friend suggested it. We did a round trip from Houston to San Antonio and back. Pros: Boarding and Off boarding are super easy and fast. They leave on schedule. Seats are super comfortable. Service--drinks, snacks, etc--is great. Nice to be able to do computer work while someone else drives. Arrived on schedule in San Antonio. Cons: Not all of the buses are the same. The first one had tray tables which made laptop work easy. The second bus didn't have them. The first bus had an uncomfortably hot bathroom and lukewarm beer. The wifi on the second bus was super sketchy--unable to do laptop work because it was constantly going in and out. On the way back to Houston, someone made the decision to exit I10 at Mason and take the feeder road all the way in. I could see I 10 from the bus and it was relatively wide open for 5:15 on a Friday. We made it to the hotel 30 minutes later than expected. Ultimately, it was a good experience, but for the price, I'm hoping they get a few of the kinks ironed out. I anticipate using the service again whenever I travel to Austin, San Antonio or Dallas again. read more

So far this form of transportation for my business trips have been great! I have booked three trips so far and a fourth actually this week. The seats are very comfortable and the accommodations are a great additive to the ride. Snacks,Blankets,Eye Mask and Lap Desk. So far all of my rides have been smooth. The one thing I would recommend is that each stewardess has a genuine attitude that is more than happy to be in the industry. I say this because there was one stewardess that disappointed in being happy in her role. Fortunately, that person's not so pleasant attitude did not deter me from using Vonlane. My employer decided to send for me via Vonlane, I've never traveled Vonlane before. This would give me a chance to see if the driver drove better than me. The driver loaded our luggage and the attendant checked us in. Once we took off , the attendant offered us blankets and informed us she would be by to offer us dinner and or a snack. First came the snacks, I took 1 package of Oreo, she than asked if that's all I wanted. I met a Vonlane attendant once in Austin and explained they want us to take as much as we wanted because of the expiration date. So I thought sure, I'll take 2 of these and 2 of those. She smiled and went on to the next passenger. She was so sweet that I thought she should be working for the airlines. Now to the driver. The lady driver gave us a SMOOTH ride. (Like myself) I had an isle seat so all I could see the traffic and girlfriend didn't spill our drinks or waste or food not once. If y'all didn't know, that's skill and many years of experience to give us such a smooth ride. The two ladies worked well together and that's important for their line of work. I am writing this while sitting on the bus driving through a Texas snowstorm and I am so thankful to not be behind the wheel right now! About 2 years ago I was introduced to Vonlane and have been using the Vonlane bus services for work trips from Houston to Dallas. This is my first leisure trip, but I decided to take the bus so I could work and be productive on this quick overnight trip to see a friend for her birthday. I cannot say enough good things about the service provided, and this method of travel between cities in Texas. What I love about Vonlane: - convenient location in Houston (for me) - easy online scheduling. If you cancel at least 2 hours before trip, you will be able to use your credit for a future trip - extremely comfortable seats - GREAT use of my time. I am able to get on the bus, immediately start working on my laptop, and work with no interruptions until we reach the destination. If you fly between these cities, you will take about the same amount of time but spend half of it in lines at the airport and constantly interrupting your work. I discovered Vonlane earlier this year when I was trying to find affordable flights to Austin and realized that the more affordable option ($99 one-way) was this luxury motor coach. Yeah it takes a bit longer to get there, but it beats the hassle of going through TSA and regular airport stress. I took an uber to Louisiana St and looked around a bit until I found the bus parked on the corner and one of its passengers waiting to board. Boarding is ten minutes before departure time, and it doesn't really matter whether or not you arrive on time because there is assigned seating. Once aboard, you can log into the bus' wifi and work or sleep in comfort. I've tried both and was equally comfortable. On those days when I have to meet a deadline, I welcomed the "library voice" guideline for any others on their phone or just the opportunity to plug in my headphones and focus on the task at hand. They offer wraps and quality snacks about 2-3 times during the duration of the trip and provide you with movie options via a vonlane-esque website. if you don't like to travel via plane but need to conduct business in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, or Oklahoma City, consider taking a vonlane. read more

I wish I could give It zero stars. Vonlane has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! We pulled up right on time and the driver closed the door and started to drive away right in front of me. I was waving at him and he just brushed me off and left! When I called customer service they said there wasn't anything they could do and brushed me off as well. These buses never have more then 5 people on them at a time so I really don't see them being around much longer. Extremely disappointing and will never ride or recommend them again Edit after customer service responded since I can't reply to It. On several occasions Vonlane has ran late to depart and clearly don't hold up their end of the deal and when a customer arrives ON TIME they choose to close the doors. Taking the Vonlane to ATX, or driving 2.5+ hours in traffic, during rush hour to ATX....? Is that even a question?!? I really enjoyed my trip on the Vonlane from Houston to Austin. Meeting the bus downtown at the Hyatt was easy and convenient, especially since I work downtown, and I would recommend taking an Uber/Lyft there if you can to avoid parking fees while you are away. Booking online was super easy and fast, but if you are traveling on the weekend, BOOK EARLY. The Friday and Sunday trips sell out very fast, so be sure to plan ahead. The customer service chat feature on the site is a joke, so if you have any issues, be sure to call Vonlane directly. The bus itself is really comfortable and the service during the ride was great. If you are traveling alone, I recommend booking one of the single seats along the right side of the bus. All of the seats recline (some further than others based on where they are on the bus), and there is an optional foot/leg rest that you can pop up for ultimate comfort. Wi-fi is free and works well, and there is personal device entertainment options that you can take advantage of. There is a good variety of fresh and packaged snacks to choose from, as well as a couple of light lunch/dinner options (sandwiches, salads, and wraps), and if you want to have an adult bev on your ride, it will cost you about $5/each. I did not think riding a bus would be this awesome. In Houston for business and a one way flight from Houston to Dallas was almost $400, and rentals were sold out or STEEP due to the hurricane. We were recommended Vonlane from a friend and it was better than first class on a plane. Seats were bigger, full reclining seats, full workable table for 4, meals were complimentary and I think the beers might have been as well. I took the morning ride and didn't take one, but they offered a couple of times. Really great service too! read more

I have heard of this service for a couple of years now, but yet had a reason to use. Until the NHL hosted their annual Winter Classic in the Cotton Bowl. At first I was thinking of flying to Dallas, but then remembered the alternative of riding the bus. Granted I could have ridden the other bus service, you know the one that costs $1 for a one-way ticket. But, the last time I rode them-- it was a round trip from HOU to SA, and SA to HOU--I was so offended by some of other travelers that I asked myself that there is surely another way to travel by bus. Low and behold, there was Vonlane. The price was the same price for a one-way or round trip if I had flown with the airline that gives out peanuts. Plus, there was no dealing with the worry of time: no parking, and especially, no TSA. The bus itself has a 1-2 seat configuration. Single seats are indicated as "C" seats, while the double seats are indicated as "A" and "B" seats. The seats themselves are leather seats; very comfortable! Trays are portable; therefore, you can attach them at both arms during food service. The seats can be reclined; be courteous to your neighbor at the back when doing so. There is a bottle holder at the bottom near the floor if you wish to use. I have a tendency to place my water bottle in the pocket in front of me. There is drink and food service. Lunch is available if you have bought your before a 2pm departure. For example, my departure on New Year's Eve was for 1pm; therefore, lunch service was available during my trip. Non-alcoholic drinks are free; alcoholic drinks are not. But, they're available during the whole trip. Alcoholic drinks are settled via credit card before arrival to the destination. They also offer other amenities: eye masks, earplugs, headphones--there's satellite tv available, blankets, and others. Depending on what model bus you're riding on, outlets are available and either located on the right-hand side arm, or on the floor. Staff includes one driver, and one attendant. I ironically had the same female driver on both trips. The attendants on both trips were both female, albeit different names. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I took Vonlane again yesterday and service was over-the-top once again. Vanessa and Greg the bus attendant and driver were personable and kept us comfortable the whole way to San Antonio. They offered a huge amenity menu.....snacks, pillow, alcohol for purchase, sodas, fruit, eat plugs, toothbrush kit, blanket, dramamine, chargers and pretty much everything else you can think of. I just rode in my first Vonlane yesterday and it was an awesome experience. The seats were nice. Plenty of leg room. The bathroom felt like a normal bathroom. Our attendant was always present and provided what we needed and the driver was friendly and cautious. Every detail seemed to have been thought out, and it was nice not to be nickel and dimed like they do on the airlines! I am very pleased with this service and will definitely come back when I need a ride. Thanks for the incredible experience, you gotta give them a chance, totally worth the ticket price! 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of the trip I bought my mom for her 75th birthday, we were informed that there was an issue with the bus and it would be delayed until 7:00 PM instead of 3:00 PM as scheduled. I deleted the rest of the review because I posted a negative review and we were contacted immediately and were taken care of. I like to go to Dallas sometimes for fan conventions. First Nightmare Nights and more recently, Harmony Con. I don't want to drive the 3 1/2 to 4 hours it takes to get there in my own personal car and I don't want to fly either because of the TSA searches and small seats, etc. Vonlane was a perfect fit for me for comfort and price. I feel respected and treated with kindness when I ride Vonlane. I will continue to ride it any time I need to move between Texas cities if possible. Some suggestions: 1. More variety of mayonnaise-free options for dinner. One time my only option was to eat a ranch dressing salad to avoid mayonnaise. I'm not the biggest fan of ranch either... but I was able to eat that. Still, what if I had been grossed out by both mayo and ranch? I would have had to have made a dinner out of chips or something. 2. I notice that not all options are open to all passengers. The attendant moves from the front of the motorcoach to the back asking what people would like to eat. The people in the front get a choice of the whole menu while the people in the back get to pick from what's left. That doesn't really seem fair. Carry enough provision on board to where everyone can order the same thing if that's what they want. Other than that everything else is perfect. read more
