Let me start by saying that this company has mostly good reviews, so hopefully mine was a one-off experience. Regardless, our encounter with Action Limo was full of unprofessional behavior and a dangerous choice that risked our lives.
I booked this company for a bachelorette party after the company I had originally planned on using fell through. On the day of the event, I realized I'd had no communication with anyone from the company since the booking. I called to confirm they were still coming and apparently they had my email wrong, so they said they'd resend my email confirmation to the right one. No biggie, I had booked over the phone so it could have been misheard. I also requested the driver text me when he was on his way.
We were expecting the driver at 1:00. Frankie texted me 12:53 that he would be arriving 25 minutes late. We had a reservation for a wine tour at 2:00 so this was already a bad start. At 1:27 I received a text that he was still 5 minutes away. He does not show up until 1:38. At this point, we are definitely missing the wine tour that we've had booked for months.
At last he arrives, and he does apologize for being late. We finally leave and we tell him the bluetooth audio is not working. He then explains to us how bluetooth audio works. We are all young women, we know how to connect a bluetooth device. A few more rounds of telling us how bluetooth works with increasing condescension, each time we responded that we are not the problem. Finally, he pulls over (we are DEFINITELY missing our wine tour now), climbs into the back with us and attempts to connect our phones to bluetooth himself. His excuse: "Honestly I haven't worked for this company in over a year, I knew this limo had some issues but I didn't know the stereo was one of them". Well, he doesn't figure it out either so he returns to the front of the limo, leaving us in silence. Finally, we are able to get the radio on. So at least we have that.
The drive to the winery was full of hard stops and turns that knocked us off the seats a few times. When we arrived at the turn off for the winery, he misses the entrance. He pulls into the shoulder of the highway (2 lanes going either direction) and proceeds to do a 3 point turn across all 4 lanes of traffic while cars are still coming. At one point we were completely horizontal, covering all traffic lanes and the shoulder. I looked out the window and saw a black truck barreling directly towards us 60-70mph without slowing down. The girl next to me even asked "Is he about to hit us? Are we about to die?" At the last second this truck slammed on the brakes, laying on his horn the entire time. Just as the limo is finishing the turn into the entrance, there is a crazy loud sound. We in the front of the limo ask, "What was that? Did we get hit?" The girls in the back of the limo reply, "No, he caused a crash behind us. A car just rear-ended another." We'll never know if anyone was hurt because Frankie did not stop. Let it be noted that that 7 girls heard this crash with the radio playing, so Frankie absolutely heard it as well.
After rescheduling with the winery, it was decided between Frankie and management that we would have the limo for 'an extra hour' (even though he was almost an hour late to begin with) in order to make a different tour. When we finish and go back to the limo, Frankie is in the back of the limo. Maybe he was fixing the stereo, but all we could think about was the personal items we had left in the back that could have easily been stolen from or drugged (some girls brought hydroflasks). Not a comfortable or safe feeling.
Due to our entire evening being derailed, we were also going to be late for our dinner reservation. As expected, we are all very put out with the experience so when we return home, Frankie calls management.
Through this conversation (which is recorded), Frankie made sexist and patronizing comments including referring to us as "you females" and using a tone that even caused Milady to say "No further conversation Frankie." At this point we barely wanted to get back in the limo, but in an effort to keep the bride happy we took it to dinner. Another unproductive conversation later we told Frankie to leave, we would be Ubering home. I just asked for my money back, as this experience was not anywhere close to the standards I would expect for over $500. I was told by Milady that I would have to speak to the owner, Phil, but he is unavailable on the weekends. This did not sit well with me, leaving it unresolved. It was also concerning that NO ONE could get in contact with the owner (including the manger). Nothing could be done that night, but Phil would call me Monday. Okay.
Monday comes around and I hear nothing. I've called 2x today, each time told Phil is not in or unavailable but he'll call back ASAP. It's 10pm and nothing. Awful experience read more
