Greencal did a great job removing the old roof, replacing the wood underlayment, installing the new roof and cleaning up afterwards! They worked with me every step of the way. A shout out to Arthur who helped coordinate the project to a successful conclusion! read more

This company was very responsive. I ended up not needing to do work on my roof but they were responsive and professional.

After several estimates we decided to go with a Green Cal. Their pricing was mid-level, but the quality of products they use is what sold us on using them for our roof replacement. The team did a great job, efficiently replacing our old flat and tile roof. Had a freak rainstorm during the replacement and unfortunately their team did not properly cover part of the roof leading to some water issues leaking into one of the bedrooms. read more

I requested a quote for reroofing. Ali came out to do an inspection, then followed up soon with a full and thorough quote. Since I mentioned we had an eye toward installing solar panels, he also sent out his associate, Nick, who gave a thoughtful estimate for that, as well. Their communications were very clear and prompt and friendly, and they were willing to propose different options. read more

I would love to give this company a higher rating but due to their lack of communication during the entire process I can't. It was pretty frustrating trying to get feedback from the job site managers. I was also told that I would be getting some sort of warranty certificate for the roof, but it's been weeks and I've yet to receive anything. Anyhow, it's been raining heavily recently and so far the roof is holding, no leaks. read more

Excellent service. They were prompt and efficient. The workers were professional. I'd use them again

Greencal construction helped me transform my kitchen, garage into a studio and installed all new windows on my 1920s California bungalow in Venice CA. Daniel worked with me on the getting the windows measured, ordered, and installed. Anlin windows. Hazel and Daniel worked with me to completely redo the kitchen and garage. Attached are before and after photos. They were very supportive and had great design ideas. I highly recommend Greencal construction. read more

GreenCal is the best I've come across. I've been a real estate professional for over a decade and I am constantly called upon for referrals to service people that do great work. GreenCal is constantly exceeding expectations with great work, providing value and insight into something that can be confusing and sometimes scary for people. read more

My roofing needs were a bit of a challenge because we already had an existing solar system that we planned on keeping. GreenCal helped address this problem by removing our current solar system and storing it safely in our garage while completing their roofing Then they reinstalled our solar system and confirming everything was in working order before they left. read more

Greencal helped me with a customers roof project on Torrance. They did a great job, will continue to work with them on the future!

When finding someone to replace my roof - I needed a roofer that could help me cool down my home. I have a flat roof with no attic so it gets pretty hot! GreenCal offered a solution called iso boards and it insulated my home perfectly. The job was seamless and totally integrated into their roofing process so it didn't add too many extra time or hassle to the roof install. read more

Had a guy come out and take some measurements on my house for stucco. He mentioned something they use can't quite remember the name of it. But I asked him to send me some links so I can research that option, he said he would. A couple of hours went by and I reminded him and he said he would send it later in the evening so I said cool. He also said I would get an estimate on Monday. As I write this review I haven't received a thing. For me when you say you're gonna do something you do it. As an electrician I make everything attempt to come through on what I say. Long story short I can't speak of the quality of work but there are plenty of reviews that show they don't come through on what they say. Which as someone mentioned I can only imagine how much trouble I would have contacting them for warranty issues. Hope this honest review helps. read more

I got my roof redone and my exterior stucco redone. Greencal offered a "bundle package" that not only was more cost effective for me but made scheduling so efficient since I only had to deal with one company instead of two. Ask for Eddie. He is informative and will take good care of you and your home. read more

Review is not for any kind of service or work done, it is only for estimate as things never got any further. I was going to write this review when Richard texted me that I should probably find someone who is cheaper in price and that they were not the company for me, but I decided not to as I was still very angry over that comment. I decided to wait a few days to let my anger subside and not write a review based on emotions. When Richard showed up, he had a younger man with him, not professionally dressed in my opinion, but not a big deal. He takes a look around the property, never gets on the roof. Again, not a big deal as I know some companies use satellite images to determine sq ft. When we first started talking, I mentioned to him, that I knew for a fact that the whole roof would need to be replaced and new plywood would need to be installed, we still had wood shingles and no plywood deck and it would be both the house and detached garage. This is the first thing I would tell anyone who came to give us an estimate, this will be important fact later in the story. So cut to a week and half later when I finally have all of the estimates and start comparing them. I realized that I didn't have Greencal estimate, wife says, well if they didn't bother send it, you shouldn't consider them. Of course against her best judgment I reach out and ask if they will send me an estimate as I would like to consider them for the job. About an hour later he calls me and emails me the quote. I look it over and the price was about 4k less then everyone else. So I try to compare their quote with the others, but I notice that their quote was not detailed at all, all the other quotes had exact dimensions and names of products. So that struck me as odd, it wasn't specific at all. So then I noticed that no where on the quote it mentioned that new osb plywood would get installed. I text Richard and sure enough, that was not included. So he tells me it would be another $3k to add the osb, at this point now they are only about $1k less then the next company I was considering. So I reach out to the other company and asked if they were willing to beat or match the Greencal quote. At this point its now down to just the two companies. The other guy said, let me see what I can do, but can you send me the quote, so my bosses know its a legit quote. I have no issue with that, and send it over. A few minutes later he calls me and ask me if I didn't want the roof on the garage done after all, because Greencal was not quoting me for it. I text Richard immediately and ask him if he had not quoted me for the garage. He said no it wasn't included, he then says that "if affordability is most important rather then quality, that he suggest that I go with the other company". Which was interesting comment as both companies were quoting me for the same exact product, minus a small flat roof area. He then states that he had asked about the garage and was not included in the original estimate. He then states "I don't think we are the contractor you are looking for. There are plenty of inexpensive contractors looking for inexpensive work, you just need to look around". To me those two comments were very condescending, as if I could not afford them or didn't have the money to spend. I knew I was not going to pay any less then $14K for this project, I knew this going in. All of the estimates that I got went from high $14k to $20k. Oh and by the way, the first line of the quote stated, house and detached garage, so how it wasn't included is beyond me. Funny part of all this is that I had just refinanced my house to do this project and a few other project, and since Greencal is not only a roofing company, I was thinking about giving them a shot at the other projects. As Richard said when I told him that line 1 stated it included the garage, "Well its good you noticed before hand". It sure is good I did. read more

Our guy Daniel is super nice and reassuring during the sale. We have been burned a lot and received shitty work before so we stressed to him that we worried and especially with his pricing being higher than others. He told Phil that he will be Phil's quarterback :-) That he will be the project manager and there every day. We liked him and trusted him and hired him! Unfortunately, that was not true. He was not there every day and things were mixed up and miscommunicated. He only came 2x and it was bec we called him. I wish he would have said I'm just the salesman. It would have been a better experience bec we wouldn't have had the expectations we had. They were going to leave some bad wood in the patio roof framing and my hubby had to call them and tell them that is not acceptable. If we weren't there every day, it would have been left and we wouldn't have seen it once the top was put on bec it would have been out of sight. I'll include pic of what I'm talking about...Also, the tiny foot wide space over the garage looks like shit. It looks like they did some tiles backwards and didn't bring tiles to contribute to the small stack we had so the spacing is horrible! They didn't even do a clean job. You'll see that in the pics too! I'd never recommend these workers at this point. Thank goodness it was $4000 too much and not more. Now I'm scared to have our sliders and window done by them bec this is shabby work. So, after Daniel seen the garage with his crew they all agreed it was poor work and redid it. It is beautiful. The picture he sent the tiles look tan (I'll enclose) and I gave him a stern text about it. I did apologize after I seen it in person bec even though they weren't able to get the same exact red, it still looks good and is not a tan color. It is spaced evenly, but I wish they would have been cleaner. Now I have to clean the slapped on and spatters of cement all over the tiles before I can paint the cement to match the house. Also, when we hired him we talked about the patio roof being completely redone except the posts that are in the flooring. Well, they only replaced a few and now my hubby and I are having to scrap the paint off of the ones they left so we can paint. This job was not worth $4000 and we will not recommend them for this type of work. Our sliders are done. They are not installed by the company we hired. They were installed by LMR and they did a beautiful job and were easy to work with! We highly recommend them! There were 4 very young men and and the dad, Luis, that came in and did the job in ONE DAY!!!! They did a beautiful job and cleaned up after themselves and were kind. That was Smart subcontracting them, Greencal. You need to keep subcontracting them! I did like the fact that we were able to get 12 months ZERO APR financing for these jobs and they waited until both jobs were done before charging me so it's all tied in together. Our total was under $11,000 for 2 sliders, a window, and a patio roof with a couple of boards replaced. The "project manager,Anthony" for the sliders and window came by one time for less than 5 minutes to see the progress and take a couple of pictures about 2/3 of the way. We didn't know of him before he showed up. When the project was done he called my hubby to see how the progress was and hubby told him it's done. That's sad that a "project manager" works like this. He than asked if my hubby would send him pics. My hubby requested warranty info and service support and Luis at LMR contact info bec we were told that's who we'd call if a latch ever sticks or anything. BUT TO THIS DAY - 3 or more weeks later, we still have NOT heard back from Anthony or anyone and HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY OF THE DOCUMENTATION WE WERE TOLD WE'D GET. So, needless to say, we would not recommend this company. We would recommend LMR. Btw, I hired this company bec of their YELP reviews were so good....what happened? :-( Hazel contacted me via phone call and offered to fix every issue we had with these projects that she could. Honestly, after we talked, I felt bad bec I didn't give them any thought or credit to their working during covid. I've heard of friends of mine refusing to go to work out of fear of covid so I'm sure they had some of that happen to them too. The sliders and window are absolutely beautiful and I would definitely recommend them for that!!!! I'm updating my review stars bec I do feel absolutely blessed that the jobs are completed and my sliders and window are beautiful. The other thing I forgot until now is that I did have issues finding a company that could do my 4th story condo and that's HUGE!!!! read more

Well, seemed promising with a quick response to come over to make an estimate with an initial reasonable quote then....I was ghosted! He even said he'd send me a quote later that day! No call back, no text back, never got an estimate from the guy who came out. I even text the company and they said they'd get a hold of him and still nothing. That was a total waste of my time. Glad I was able to see how non responsive they were before going further with them. That would have been a total scary nightmare headache! read more

I'm a realtor and my clients needed to get their roof replaced. I contacted a couple of companies and received several quotes. My clients ended up selecting Greencal Construction because they were able to go give an estimate right away and work on the roof within a week. Plus, they kept us informed every step of the way and my clients (the sellers) and buyers were happy with the new roof. read more

Joshua talked us through the process of refinishing the exterior of our house, garage and patio areas including changing the texture of our stucco. He helped us arrange the financing too. It was an ambitious job but once it was completed in a reasonably timely way with congenial workers who took pride in their efforts, we're very happy with the end result and it feels like a new house with a vibrant Caribbean-esque color scheme. Had a few of my windows installed by GreenCal Construction a few years back before the pandemic. At first I only wanted just the front ones done for street appeal and to silence noise from the street. These windows did such a good job at not only sound control but security, durability, energy efficiency and look that I am now getting the rest of the windows for my home done. Install takes less than a day! read more

A piece of advice to anyone looking here to get their roof done. If you are even thinking of getting it done within this year, DO IT NOW! I have so many friends that complain to me about the rising price of wood ruining their experiences with roofing contractors. My wife and I got many quotes to have our house re-roofed.Why? Because every company gave us a different story. Greencal gave us the most straight forward and logical estimate without hidden costs built into the contract, used the highest quality materials, gave us the best warranty and had a competitive price. But the best part was the quality of their workmanship, their professional staff and their stellar communication. Our job had a lot of moving pieces and they maneuvered and executed them smoothly and expediently. Greencal went above and beyond. We would give them another star if we could! read more
