Osmanthus Oolong with soft grass jelly
    Michelle A.

I went to Green Shaker by Ten Ren to get a little drink after my last minute holiday shopping spree. The employees took my order right away during the lunch rush. There's a few places to sit & I had no idea that they sold food. Which I would definitely try next time I'm in the plaza. I got the Osmanthus Oolong Tea 75% sweetness with soft grass jelly. The osmanthus was floral and refreshing. I've never had soft grass jelly before and the texture was surprising and pleasant.

After dinner caffeine fix, Just needed a little something before the food coma kicks in. This is a really nice casual spot to hang out and catch up with friends. Not too loud, great staff. I think I'll choose this spot for a nice little game night. They have snacks, meals and good drinks.

This place is my favorite spot compared to all locations. Place is clean and spacious! The food never fails here. Today I ordered the Pork Bone Joy Pot with Udon noodles. I appreciated that the udon wasn't frozen and already cooked! Soup was made to perfection imo. Lastly, shout out to the staff. In particular, Christian who was very friendly and attentive. The energy and aura was radiating today!

Omg, I'm sad that so many Ten Ren locations have closed! We now come to this location in Walnut (which oddly has TWO locations!) Happy to report that the food here is good, and it's spacious and clean. The staff here are super friendly and helpful as well! They are sometimes slammed and it can get crowded because they have many takeout orders. I've enjoyed their three-flavor chicken especially, very flavorful! As are most Ten Ren teas, their tea drinks are tasty and brewed strong!

Unexpectedly good personal shabu shabu here in this little cafe! The portion is very large for the price. It's already cooked and ready to eat. Meat and veggies are very tender and the broth is perfect. I think other dishes are just OK. Kung pao chicken was not very authentic. Tea is quite strong, but also quite impressive about the scent. Boba was less than what I expected from a place known for boba.

Seating was good, it wasn't packed and pretty spacious. Place looks nice, just like the title says, mix of a sports bar and a variety of drinks for non alcoholics. Menu also had food, but didn't order any and stayed to hangout, play board games, and enjoy the beverages. Music wasn't too loud and we were able to talk among our group well. The love potion was a bit sweet, might need to reduce the sweetness just a little bit. The cold brew was spot on, not watered down and strong in flavor. Atmosphere and vibe was good and welcoming. We would like to come back when we have time to play games and enjoy boba drinks.

Nice staff--good food--busy place ! Love the drinks too. We beat the crowd ! Get here before 12:00

Thai tea Teazer with a scoop of ice cream

Cute and very clean establishment with great customer service. Their Thai tea Teazer with a scoop of ice cream was really delicious!

I ordered from them late (around 8:20pm) via Uber Eats for my husband, who was working late. I got the popcorn chicken and pork chop rice. Unfortunately, both meats were overcooked -- very dry and slightly burnt, as if they had been cooked more than once. Also, the pork chop rice used to come with ground pork sauce on top of the rice, but this time it was missing. The quality has really gone down compared to before. I hope the restaurant can maintain consistency even for later orders.

This review is for a delivery order. Got the popcorn chicken rice but subbed for soup noodle and it was pretty standard. A bit pricy but you do get a small side of veggies and small size of potatoes. Overall it's 3.5 but rounded up bc you can always depend this taste of this place to be consistent and standard! Also got the wonton soup and it's what you would expect, their soup is actually pretty tasty.

    Taro Milk Tea
    Edeline Y.

I got the taro milk tea with boba with 25% sweetness and less ice. It's good! It's actually pretty sweet with less sweetness so I'd recommend 25% sweetness if you're not too big on sweets. Taro flavor is rich and creamy. Boba is chewy as well. Would get it again!

Used to be my go to place for lunch, but haven't been here for 2.5 years (since the pandemic). The quality, popcorn chicken + green milk tea, is still very yummy. Popcorn chicken is probably the best quality around the area and the side dishes add a nice touch of fiber! However, the price has gone up substantially from before, 18+ for this meal. I get everything is more expensive now with inflation and all, but this increase seems a tad too much.

Are you open for in person dining?

    Yes they are!

Is the menu the still the same thing?

Yes, the only big difference is that they do not carry honey dew based drinks. Other than that I believe that is the only thing.

    Are reservations needed?

No reservations needed. I'm not even sure if they take reservations.

Very pleasant experience…read more Went on a Friday around 6:30 PM. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a waitlist where you write down your name and number. The young woman working immediately acknowledged us before we even finished writing our info down and asked how many were in our party. We said two, and she told us to go ahead and start building our bowls. The concept is pretty cool and very straightforward. You grab a bowl and tongs, then walk through the different sections choosing your ingredients. They had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. Pricing is by weight at $15.99/lb. Once you finish building your bowl, you head to the cashier where they weigh it and you choose your broth and spice level. The broth selection was surprisingly huge, around 15 options if I remember correctly. I got the Tom Yum broth mild spice, and my girlfriend got the Organic Miso mild spice. We also added jasmine green tea and white rice for $1.99 each. After ordering, they give you a table number and you can head over to the self-serve sauce station while your food is being prepared. The sauce bar had ponzu, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, Tabasco, scallions, cilantro, red onion, satay sauce, shallots, minced garlic, chili powder, chili oil, and more. The soups came out quickly and were served over a live flame at the table, which was a nice touch. Both broths were excellent. Even at mild spice, there was still a pleasant kick. The broth itself had good body and flavor and didn't taste watery at all. Service was also great. The server checked on us consistently, kept drinks refilled, and was attentive without hovering. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe around 8 tables, but it felt cozy rather than cramped. Nice interior, comfortable temperature, clean setup, and the vibe was relaxing. They were playing bossa nova versions of 2000s and modern hits which honestly fit the atmosphere perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Great value, fun experience, and genuinely good hot pot.

The staff helped change out dirty plates often. Everything was clean. They were helpful in explaining the AYCE menu. The only problem I experienced is how slow the virtual menu was to load and long buffers between each click. At one point it stopped working to reorder so the waitress had to do it manually anyway. We got the half tomato (light spice) and half spicy soup (mild) base and both were really good! I might upgrade to med next time. The meat quality was great, esp the 1 wagyu plate per person that comes with AYCE. Surprisingly the fatty beef was so tender as well. Even the mala beef didn't hurt going in...or out. The bellflower veggie is a must try. Never had this crunchy vegetable before. Love the self serve bar with so many desserts and Chinese chips options.

I was very impressed with the quality of the beef tongue and the wagyu, both of which were tender and flavorful, though I found the premium lamb in that same category to be fairly mediocre. I also sampled some items from the Option B tier and thought the youth lamb was quite tasty, although the ribeye ended up being a bit too dry for my liking. I appreciated the self-serve format because it allowed me to customize my meal with a decent variety of vegetables and appetizers like chicken wings, egg rolls, and seaweed salad, all topped off with their included drinks and a sweet jelly for dessert. Unfortunately, my positive impression of the food was dampened by the poor maintenance of the facility, as I struggled to walk across floors that were covered in a thick, dangerous layer of grease. I actually almost slipped and fell while heading to the bathroom, and once I arrived, I found the restroom itself to be quite dirty and neglected. While I enjoyed the meal and the birthday discount, I believe the management needs to address these safety and cleanliness issues to truly match the quality of their premium meat offerings.
