    Fried chicken and fried rice

This is the best Chinese take out in the area food it had alot of flavor. It is very clean inside and the price is good.

We always do Chinese take out on Sunday and was on wrong side of town to our normal place. It's your typical take out place with all the usual food suspects. Overall the food was ready quickly, store was clean. Food was just OK. Not bad but not great. The hunan chicken was chock full of celery, which I don't eat. Picked it out piece by piece and it filled 1/2 a quart size rice box. Might eat there again but in no rush.

I wanted to like this place, because it's so close to home. The interior was clean in appearance, the food was ready in a timely manner, and the lady working there was lovely. This was worth a star. The main reason I was there was for the food, and it was lacking in taste. I ordered the beef with mixed vegetables combo. For the egg roll, the wrapper was tough and the filling was dry. My beef in the entree was tender but tasteless and fatty. It was a lighter color than what I am used to beef being. This seemed to be low quality beef. The fried rice was basic. My husband ordered food here this past weekend, and thought the food was not good. Of course, he didn't tell me this until after I had placed my order online.

    General Tso Chicken Lunch Special

I was recommended this place by two of my friends and decided on a whim to try it. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a super nice lady. I ordered the General Tso Chicken (extra spicy) lunch special. The lunch special comes with fried rice and a cheese wonton. I also ordered my fiancé the Sesame Chicken lunch special and a side order of cheese wontons. The food was cooked really quick! I only had to wait like 15 minutes after I ordered and everything was ready. Super friendly staff! Cheese wontons were crispy, delicious, and full of cheese and crab. I like how they don't skim on the filling over here like most places and their sweet and sour sauce was just right! The General Tso Chicken was pretty good, but it wasn't spicy at all in my opinion. I'm taking off one star because I literally only had one big piece of broccoli and it wasn't a good piece. Also, the sauce wasn't as spicy as I hoped it would be. However, they gave me a lot of chicken and the sauce was still good despite not being as spicy! It came with a lot of fried rice too which tasted great! I saved some leftovers and heated it back up and the food was still yummy! My fiancé didn't enjoy his Sesame Chicken as much as he thought it was over-salted, but I tasted it and it was fine to me. He doesn't like a lot of salt in his food. Honestly, for the price of $6 and some change, their lunch specials are a deal! Food is decent, service is friendly, and they give you alot for your buck so I wouldn't mind coming here again!

This place is legit. I'm back three times in the first week to order the exact same thing! Stellar items: the sesame chicken, general tso's chicken, shrimp with broccoli, crab rangoons, egg rolls just to name a few. The lunch special is unbeatable- a huge selection of dishes, plus fried rice and a crab Rangoon for under ten dollars. They're quick, friendly, and the takeout containers are also nice to reuse. I'm hooked!

Tofu with Broccoli and Shrimp Egg Foo Yong. Healthy comfort food.

I stop by Green Lakes for take out often. My favorite dish is Tofu with Broccoli and Shrimp Egg Foo Yong. All the menu items I've tasted have been very good. I usually call to order the Tofu dish as it's not on the menu. Otherwise ordering online is very convenient. You can also pay online or at the store. Samantha is very efficient and when they say 10 minutes for pick up you usually don't have to wait longer than that. You can also eat at the store but seating is very limited. With all the building renovations at this mall the restaurant has moved from next to the Metro Diner to a store front across from Publix. They share the parking lot with Publix and other stores so it is always busy. Be extra careful when getting in & out of the parking lot. Good job Green Lakes for consistency in the quality & taste of food produced 7 days a week.

Beef and broccoli combo with lo mein.

I stopped by this restaurant again for a quick meal. They are super fast with the orders. They are currently pick-up only and have a nice little window where you can pay and pick up your food. Just call in for your order and pick up. They aren't rude on the phone either like some other places. I got the beef and brocolli with lo mein. My go to is usually the general Tsos chicken but I decided to not have any fried stuff with breading. The beef and brocolli with noodles were seasoned perfectly. Very great taste and texture. The food was not too greasy like other chinese fast food places. I'm definitely coming again and would recommend to others for some good chinese take out.

    Complimentary Cheese Wonton
    Nyla S.

The most stars in the area for Chinese joints in a 10 mile radius, so with my handy dandy Yelp app in hand I set out to see if it was better. We arrived indecisive and their patience was thick, that was greatly appreciated. Our order: veggies in brown sauce dinner combo with shrimp fried rice and a cheese wonton instead of a egg roll, orange chicken dinner combo and chicken on a stick with fried rice. I went back up to the counter to add a order of cheese wontons and she was already putting them in my bag, COMPLIMENTARY!! Free food always makes my night!!!! So thank you for your great customer service. The ONLY con is that my vegetables were basically raw, almost like they weren't sautéed at all so I sautéed them myself for another 10 minutes. If it wasn't for that they would've gotten 5 stars!!

I am not a huge fan of Chinese food, but this food was fresh, tasty and the quantity was perfect. The place was so clean and the lady at the front was extremely kind! Fast and easy dinner option!

My husband really likes their orange chicken. The crunchy noodles for soup have never been stale. Nearby Chinese food takeout in comparison: Green lake food is good but not quite as good. Red lantern (previously Silver Star) is inconsistent and hasn't been as good the last few times. The hot and sour soup has been amazing at times, but sometimes it's just ok. The egg drop soup was so salty we all agreed it was inedible. The crunchy noodles at times were stale. We've always liked their stuffed eggplant and they're the only ones out of the three that offer it.

I heard about them when they were in another plaza but never really tried them until they moved and have frequented them every now and then. I called in and got the Bourbon Chicken dinner combination tonight and instead of rice I substituted or shall I say upgraded it to a veggie lo mein. The total was $18 and some change just for that and an egg roll. I've heard people say their food is pricey but I'll pay the premium especially since the food is always good plus the veggies and meats always seem fresh and not frozen or questionable like other joints. Go check 'em out and don't let the Planet Fitness next door guilt trip ya!

I always order a lot of dishes because I like what I like and I also know I'll have leftovers. I sent back the pan fried taro pudding because it was so bland and it didn't have many of the main ingredients in it. If it were there, it was so skimpy I didn't find any. (The Chinese sausage and dried shrimp) The pain fries soy sauce noodles were overcooked. It's suppose to be pan fried and it was not. Also very skimpy on the black mushrooms. Not very flavorful. The Steamed shrimp dumplings were mediocre. The skin was gummy and fell apart. The shrimp filling wasn't too bad. The shrimp with rice pasta was probably the best dish there. But it was still lacking in flavor. The steamed ribs with black bean sauce was very bland. The ribs were tough and tasteless. The braised chicken feet were over cooked. The texture was horrible like eating mush. The flavors were also off. The egg tarts looked good but the flavors again were off. Borderline going bad. It had that slight aftertaste of sourness. The shell was also flavorless. The BBQ pork buns were also disappointing. The ratio of bread to filling was off. Very small amount. But I was a little happy this happened because the filling didn't taste good at all. The hot tea was also disappointing. I always order jasmine tea when having dim sum. They used a low quality tea bag instead of real loose jasmine tea leaves which also includes the flowers. No fragrance at all of Jasmine tea. Needless to say, I will not be going back on my next visit. It was very expensive for what they give you. Especially since the food was so bad. I gave it two stars because the service was very good and the view was decent. I am Chinese... born in Hong Kong. So I know what dim sum should taste like. I wish I had seen the review that had a photo of the salt and pepper shrimp before I went because I would not have gone. Their salt and pepper shrimp is not authentic and I would have not gone and saved myself $80 for my lunch.

They're at 10586 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin with a nice size parking lot so their location is great and parking isn't a concern. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
