But the last time I came, things weren't so good. I came in faded and ordered a brisket sandwich and fries. They came relatively quick and I was chilling while I waited. It came out after roughly 10 minutes and I sat down and dug in. I was halfway through the sandwich when I felt something hard in my mouth, I took it out and saw a little ball-like thing that looked like it could be part of some type of food but definitely not a brisket sandwich. Regardless, I didn't think much of it, taking it out and moving on. But that's when I saw a weird little plastic object in my fries. I took it out to see what looked like a condiment nozzle. Now I can live with a weird little ball, but a weird little plastic object, no way! So I went up to the counter to say something. I waited for someone to come out so I could talk to them, but after 10 minutes no one came and I just cut my losses and dipped. I wish I didn't have to give this review because I do think Wonder has good food, service, and ambiance, but this was disappointing.

Also, in my opinion, these sandwiches are BIG. They're not cheap, but I can easily get at least two meals out of them. They also come with a complimentary can of soda. The Russo's on 7th Ave has a reputation for being a bit surlier than the one on 5th Ave--a lot of people have said that the 5th Avenue staff is warmer and the overall vibe there is a lot friendlier. The guy who has taken my orders at 7th Ave the last couple of times has been polite and nice, though.

Also ordered a few garlic Knots but at $1 each, they seemed a little "pricey." But then again... we are in Brooklyn Heights here. I ordered a small portion and did not regret it. They are the perfect texture, beautifully salted and very different - I recommend trying them. Some things they could improve on is how long it takes to prepare food. I see this as a late night snack bar more than anything, so they should definitely consider expanding their hours later into the night for all those post-midnight cravings and traffic from the younger, drunker crowd.
