Honestly it's been a while since I've been here but I think the food has gotten better! I got the Greek salad and the pita chips with spicy feta dip which was delicious! I don't know if I loved the pita chips - a tad too fried, I think I would have preferred just toasted pita but overall yummy and super quick pick up order

Come here for authentic Greek in a casual restaurant chain. I personally prefer Greco over the less-authentic/lower-quality fare at Saloniki. Greco offers pitas that you can customize with marinated and juicy chicken, pork, lamb or beef with toppings of your choice. They also have hearty plates of Greek salad, tzatziki and pita bread. You should also try their desserts-loukoumades which are sweet Greek donuts topped with honey, cinnamon chocolate and nuts. Their meats and salad ingredients are fresh and I've never ordered a plate I didn't enjoy. There is limited seating inside and outside so keep that in mind. If you're confused about what to order or want recommendations their staff are really helpful-all you have to do is ask.

Not going to lie, this is not the best greek food you can find in Boston. In a pinch or if you happen to stumble upon it, it'll definitely do to satisfy your craving. The prices aren't too bad for Newbury St. and even when it's very crowded their service is reasonably quick. Additionally, there's a good amount of seating despite the small space. However, there's nothing that stood out to me as exceptional. The avgolemono soup and the lamb gyro were definitely good and the highlights of the meal for me, but also not something I would go back for. Aside from this, the menu does have a wide variety of options and some traditional greek treats that might be hard to find elsewhere, but for me it wasn't my favorite regardless. Maybe give it a try for yourself if you're curious, though!

This is a nice Greek food spot along Newbury street. I ordered a pita wrap with pea protein, the Greek yogurt sauce and charred eggplant was delicious! However, I was a bit skeptical cause I don't think they put vegan protein in my order. The interior was cramped and certainly not accessible for people with disabilities or crutches or sprained ankles with limited movement. The exterior is a nice spot to sit and get some people watching on.

I am obsessed with their halloumi pita. I have driven 30 minutes just to have it. It's so flavorful and juicy and crispy and fresh and there's a ton of food for the price. Highly highly recommend. Food comes out quickly too.

Chicken Plate with spicy feta and lemon chive yogurt + lentils

Made a quick stop for a lunch that wasn't dessert on our Boston trip. Reviews looked promising and a friend said some of his coworkers liked this spot. Overall I was impressed. Simple greek plate but very flavorful, very fresh and was a great portion for $16 bucks. I got the lentils for my side and fir sauce I got the lemon chive yogurt and spicy feta. Absolutely delicious combo. It was a solid 3.5-4.5oz meat and along with the lentils this was a good amount of protein to balance out the more "sweet" options we've been picking on all day. The space inside the restaurant is comfortable, the staff is friendly and checked on us a few times to make sure all was good. And from ordering to getting our food, we waited maybe 4 minutes? Overall, very pleased and would come back. It may not be my absolute favorite greek food ever but it absolutely got the job done and earned a repeat visit + my recommendation.

I ordered Greco via Relish which is a catering service. Due to this I can't speak on the actual restaurant ambiance and staff. What I can say is that the food is excellent. I had a chicken plate with beans and tzatziki. The ingredients were so good. The pita bread was fresh. I'd love to try more from here!

Chicken Gyro Plate with lemon pilaf ($16) and Classic Loukoumades ($8)

What a great place! When it comes to quick-serve Greek cuisine, Greco sets the bar quite high. Located in the scenic Newbury Street, Greco is a cozy, comfortable, and inviting fast casual restaurant with great, fairly priced food. You can dine inside or on their dog friendly patio seating. Keep in mind that the inside and patio seating areas are a bit small, and there's limited seating. We arrived for lunch with our small dog and settled in on their lovely patio. We ordered the chicken gyro plate with lemon pilaf ($16) and an order of their Classic Loukoumades ($8). The dish was bursting with flavorful bits that were simply divine when paired with a dollop of tzatziki sauce. The loukoumades were equally as enjoyable. They were crispy and airy, striking the perfect level of sweetness and flavors. A really enjoyable way to round out our meal. For those seeking top-notch Greek fare without the fuss, but with plenty of friendly service and quality food ingredients, GRECO is a must visit!

This is a fun spot in Newbury Street for Greek food. I love Greek food so I always want to stop by a local Greek restaurant when I am traveling. They had an outdoor seating area filled with people. You then go down the stairs and enter the main shop. From there you can pick if you would like a gyro or a platter and choose from the options available. It is quality Greek street food for an affordable price. I ordered a chicken gyro to go. They cut the meat right in front of me. I loved the tzatziki sauce and french fries. Be sure to order the zucchini chips. It was my first time trying it and they were amazing. One thing I didn't notice until it was too late was the Greco app. You could download it and place your order for $3 off your first order. By that time it was too late for me. Make sure you download the app to get the membership. If you are anything like me you will be coming back here again very soon.

I am begging Greco to come to Minnesota. I come to Boston at least once a year for work and I am always making at least one, if not two, stops to Greco. This time I got it twice! This is a new location for me but it is so cool and a fun spot in Back Bay. I always get the pork souvlaki plate with extra fries instead of salad. I love this meal, they have great fries, great tzatziki and the best pork souvlaki I have been able to find in the states. Truly my favorite spot in Boston!

Good quick stop in for food. Lunch prices around ~$13-16. I got the plate, halloumi, spicy feta and with zucchini chips. Overall very impressed. Service was quick (sat for 2-3min at lunch time and already had food) and indoor seating looked nice but I took to go. I really liked the zucchini chips, they were tasty and crisp, and something that feels a lot easier to convert to frying at home than even potato wedges. I have had them on my mind for a couple days though and try to recapture the experience. Halloumi was good, spicy feta not too much but good and flavorful, and nice bed of veggies for whole dish. Other than those thoughts, really good lunch from what looks to be a local chain. I would definitely recommend.

No frills, quick service, quality food place on newbury. I got a simple gyro with pork and it was hearty and filling. I mean you can't go wrong with meat, pita, sauce and fries but still :) Will be back for sure when I'm in Boston next

For a well-known Greek chain in Boston, especially one with a location on Newbury St., I honestly expected better. While the service and wait time at GRECO was decent, the food was simply just OK, nothing to really write home about. The portions were also very small for the price (pictured plates each for $15.50), I felt feeling nearly satisfied but nowhere near full. I ordered the chicken plate which came with a side of fries, salad, and pita bread slices. The chicken was good, cooked well and flavorful. The fries were tasty, but there weren't very many. The salad was disappointing, as it was just sliced tomatoes and onions. No dressing whatsoever. The pita and honey mustard was very good. They also skimped on the feta, and I was barely able to taste any in my dish. Honestly, there are much better authentic Greek places in the Boston area, and if you want a good alternative chain restaurant in Boston I'd hit up Saloniki Greek-- their prices are similar but the food is tastier and more filling.

Overall good, good flavor, but could have a better layout in the store. Couldn't sit face to face with my friends.

Arguably the best thing you can eat while shopping on Newbury. Pork Gyro or bust, just get the pita and extra tzatziki.

Is the chicken always marinated in honey mustard or just on the classic chicken?

The chicken itself is not marinated in Honey, not until it's prepared on the Gyro, the chicken is season and cook on a slow rotisserie

We ordered the meatballs, the souvla of the day and the salad. Everything was so tasty. You can't go wrong with anything here. The table next to us had the huge sampler which was about $240 but was one of every dish on the menu. This is a perfect choice for six to 8 people. Service was super friendly. The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

The best authentic Greek food in the city!…read more Kava is well known for having incredible food, and it hits every time. It can be hard to get a reservation as you can only book up to 24 hours in advance, but we managed to walk in on a Saturday for lunch as a party of two! Located in a beautiful part of South End with some, but not a ton of street parking, the restaurant has a small space decorated with a "sea" theme with ropes and a big painting of a sailor. The food is the main draw, and the highlight is really authentically Greek dishes. We tried the Pantzaria (baked beets), kolokithakia (zucchini chips), kalamarakia tis skaras (grilled calamari), keftedes (Greek meatballs), and horiatiki (tomato/cucumber/feta salad). The highlights were definitively the zucchini chips which were so crunchy with a yummy dipping sauce or the calamari which were seasoned in this yummy caper oil sauce, or the keftedes which were perfectly cooked. The beets were pretty basic unseasoned beets, but I love beets and really enjoyed this as a low-acid side to the other food. Lastly, we tried the Greek coffee which came in little espresso cups and was soooo good, would highly recommend. We also have a severe anaphylactic nut/peanut allergy and they were easily able to accommodate and so knowledgeable! Overall we had an amazing time and will certainly be back.

Got to head over to Kava for a second round today and try some things I did not get around to last…read moretime, so here are my thoughts: The food REMAINS IMPECCABLE. I was obsessed with the octopus last time and it was once again grilled to perfection with excellent acidity. The zucchini chips were delightful (even as someone who hates zucchini's). The feta psiti was a comfort per usual. What blew me away and I was so excited to try was the lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, the look was closer to a medium-well (we asked for medium) but the meat was still perfectly juicy and spiced. The mousaka was also lovely, I have only had this dish homemade and it certainly held its own... definitely had a homemade feel with a generous meat portion. The Roka salad was also lovely. As far as drinks go, I enjoyed my aperol spritz and my spicy margarita a lot, I especially like the tsipouro having tried it as a shot the first time, but I think if I were to go again, I might go for wine for a more consistent liquor content. Now let's talk about service. I want to preface that certain things would 1000% be overlooked had we reserved for a busier time, but we went in 15 minutes after opening and by the looks of it, there were more than enough servers for the tables filled in the patio. The first time that I tried Kava, part of the excellent experience was our server. They were such a sweet person who really took the time to bond with us, brought us a round on the house, and just checked on us and made sure we were always doing good. Today really lacked that element. As soon as we sat down, the server informed us that they were out of three small plates, which happens, but not 15 minutes after opening as this was the case. Nonetheless, we were able to order a lot of yummy things, so fine. We then asked if it would be possible to angle the umbrella some way or move to a different table so I would be covered from the scorching sun this afternoon, and our server said "just wait ten minutes, the sun will move behind the building..." I understand that I asked for a patio and obviously you cannot control the sun nor the weather, but I just feel like the situation could be handled a little better -- at least a better response. Then, my dad ordered a beer which was completely warm. We asked for another which was luke warm, so then he just asked for a cocktail instead. The server was kind enough to bring a cold beer on the house later, but again, right at open, you kind of expect things to be in order. Overall, our server was just kind of... there, not super attentive nor pleasant. Another thing, I tried to get around the Resy "day before" policy because the reservations for Sunday opened during my graduation ceremony on Saturday and I wanted to make sure I get my table especially as my parents were catching a flight, so I emailed management in advance per the host's instructions upon calling. We went back and forth rather unnecessarily (with very delayed replies on their part), then I got completely ghosted... Not sure why. I was eventually able to get a table by calling the host after my ceremony on Saturday and they were incredibly accommodating, but they also noted that this was a graduation celebration, yet there was no acknowledgment... I had a graduation dinner last year at a different establishment in Boston and our server went beyond to ensure a great experience and even brought out a hand-written card with our check. These details could really really help the Kava experience in my opinion. Finally, the servers bringing out the dishes were completely confused. Almost every single dish was brought to the wrong table before reaching us and we could see them running around the patio with our order... rather unprofessional. Ultimately, it is the service that leads me to dock a star from my previous rating. Had the food not been as consistently fantastic, I definitely would be docking more.
