Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Donuts
Toby M.

Stayed at Pixar Place and ate here a total of 3 times (not by choice but the conference we were at served lunch here). First night we got the fried chicken and donuts. A huge mistake here as the donuts were very stale compared to when we tried the donuts earlier in the day the next two days - it tasted more fresh then. It's also really heavy so highly recommend ordering this to share rather than for one person. We also had the lemon shrimp pasta, which was really good but pasta was overdone with the lemon causing a sour taste. Day two I tried the hot honey chicken sandwich, which was the best thing I had there. This chicken was super flavorful and juicy. Comes with a side of fries that were very stale. Day three I had the chicken caesar salad which I do not recommend - the chicken was cooked but squeaky like as if it was raw. Convenient meal for those staying at the hotel but I wouldn't go out of your way for it. Service is impeccable though for what it's worth!!

Needed a convenient spot to eat with the kiddo, so we walked over here from the Disneyland hotel. Was well after the parks opened, so there was no wait. Got the hot honey fried chicken sandwich and myself, and got pancakes with chocolate chips and cheesy eggs for the little one. Both plates were completely cleaned off. I wish I could remember the server's name, because he was super friendly. If you're okay with this price point, it's a great option.

Great Maple at Pixar Place Hotel was AMAZING!! Came for brunch, food was delicious, mimosas were really good, and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. Service was great; we sat at the bar and both the manager and the lady taking care of us were awesome! They also have a little patio outside with a fireplace , so in the afternoon you can grab your drinks go outside, chill, and enjoy the vibe. Definitely coming back.

From the many eateries one can find inside of the Pixar Place Hotel, Great Maple is the only option that isn't run by Disney themselves. Great Maple is a local chain from around the Southern California area that has a casual atmosphere that celebrates the area's best food. And looking to find a place in the Disneyland Resort for a casual dinner, I made a reservation for Great Maple on a Saturday around 5:45PM. Walking up to the host podium, the hostess was very kind and checked us in promptly. She let my party know that walk-up parties only had seats available outside on the deck and that the inside seating was reserved for those with reservations. Sitting down, the server we had was very kind and checked in on us very often. And taking a look at the menu, there were a variety of choices ranging from salads and burgers, to full entrees and desserts. For this visit, I decided to order the Portobello Mushroom Fries ($22) and the Soda Pop Baby Back Ribs ($33). And when the food came, I was pleasantly surprised. Looking at the Mushroom Fries first, there were about 8-9 solid pieces of mushroom with an accompanying dipping sauce. And because each piece of mushroom was thick and breaded thinly, I could see the value proposition. For $22, the appetizer price can be a little steep considering other options in the area. But because you are on Disney property, the price is to be expected for a sit-down restaurant. The same could be said for the Baby Back Ribs as the plate I received had three decently sized pork ribs, coleslaw, a biscuit, and some butter. For $33, you could definitely find better value off property. But for the Disneyland Resort, the price was pretty fair. Of anything to be said, the flavors of the food are the reason I would come back here. Beginning with those mushroom fries, each piece of mushroom was seasoned perfectly with pepper and other spices. Because the breading was light, the mushroom had most of the air time in my mouth. The sauce was tangy and savory which elevated the seasoning already on the mushroom fries. Don't sleep on the mushroom fries! Moving onto the main course, the biscuit was flaky and airy which made it a light complement to the ribs. And while the coleslaw was rather standard, it was fresh and composed with a great ratio of vegetables. Tasting the ribs last, the barbecue flavor helped the moist meat find harmony together. I enjoyed how the meat of the ribs fell off the bone and the perfect level of fat on the meat. With a cozy atmosphere for a meal, Great Maple is a great place for date nights and family dinners alike. With booths, stand-alone tables, and bar seats, there is something for everyone here. The service was warm and kind per Disney standards and the food was outright delicious compared to many other options offered on-property. The biggest consideration you should make before deciding to eat here is whether you value the price to portion ratio. Each person can easily run up 60-70 dollars for the meal which can be expensive if you're not careful. But otherwise, be sure to secure your reservation! This place always seems to be busy.

Such cute vibes in here! it was decorated for Christmas and felt so festive. We got the ribs and ribeye melt and the portions were so big we had to take home. The ribs were so tender like 10/10 tender it fell off bones!! Fun tip, you get a free doughnut if you do the Pixar Putt. The water was like 3/5 because tasted like powder a little. I wish I came for brunch! Brunch menu looks good!

Food was wow! Service was wow, the wait was wow! lol went in late morning and it was please seat as we walked in. Nice Christmas decor and seasonal drinks and food were great. The doughnut was a triple wow. They have a huge donut and it's awesome filling and tastefully great. Shall return

Great service, humongous portions, yummy food. We came for lunch before checking in at our hotel and had a great experience. Our server was attentive and super friendly. Must be that Disney Magic! The plates are huge! You can definitely split entrees with someone. Even the kids meals are pretty big. The food is great too. I had the ribeye sandwich and the meat was tender and the aioli was a nice touch. Fries are nothing special-- typical frozen fries. There's plenty of seating, but being that it's on Disneyland Resort property, it can get busy, so highly recommend making a reservation.

Came here for thanksgiving day dinner! It's very fun being able to walk through the Pixar Place Hotel and see all the Pixar decorations. The restaurant is modern and has a bar in the middle with TVs playing sports. Our server was great and super friendly/attentive. A few of our appetizers were excellent such as the Mac and cheese and charred cauliflower hummus. I'd say the Mac and cheese was the clear best app. For my entree I chose the turkey bolognese. It was ok but nothing special. I regret not trying the fried chicken with maple donuts! I later ordered the donuts for dessert. Both the maple bacon and pumpkin spice. They were ok but not my favorite since they were brioche donuts whereas I am a cake donut fan. The cocktails also had cool holiday cups that you could purchase if you want such as a t-Rex and a unicorn cup. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience here. Would come again for sure.

I made a reservation through Disneyland's dining reservations on the app. This is in the lobby/first floor of the Pixar hotel. But it's not actually a Disney restaurant, which I didn't realize. So they couldn't take a Disney gift card. Our food was good but not special. The great maple donuts were maply and bacony, and large. My Benedict was good, but I didn't care for the potatoes on the side. Overall, I've had better elsewhere, even in Anaheim. We went right when they opened on a Tuesday morning, so it was pretty quiet. The decor and aesthetic is nice, modern but with wood and nature touches. Their staff were friendly and efficient.

Great Maple (Anaheim) is inside Pixar Hotel. At first, from the map, it seems like it's located at DT-Disney. The hotel lobby wall is very "etchy" like an artist working on the next project. Love it. To locate the restaurant look for walk past the lobby and look for the gift shop. We were promptly greeted by the hostess at the podium. Although we had a reservation and arrived 10 minutes early, we were asked to wait. At first, I assumed it was due to a full house, but later noticed plenty of empty tables -- which made me wonder if the wait was intentional, perhaps to give the impression of high demand, or they need some special settings. Our server was Carlos who was cool and friendly. He offered some suggestions on crafted drinks but wayyyy too early. We originally want the meat loaf but that's part of the dinner item (bummer). However, there's other great plates on both the breakfast and lunch menu which are served until 2pm. We got the: - Egg Benedict topped grilled shrimps. It's pretty good and different. Rated: 4 out of 5. - Fried chicken waffle (but their version which is maple glazed donuts). This one is a bit odd and overpriced for the entree. Rated: 3 out of 5. It was also my sister's birthday so I did advise Carlos. He was cool and gave us vanilla ice cream. Nice touch to end the meal.

Ribeye Melt with Fries

Great Maple is located in the lobby of the Pixar Hotel by Disneyland. I also read that they can validate 3 hours of parking if you park at their hotel! They had cute decorations for Christmas which we enjoyed. We had a reservation for 7 and the rest of our party was running about 30 minutes late and they were very accommodating of this which we appreciated. For children they have a separate menu with a page to color (they provide crayons) and some word games, so definitely very kid friendly! Here are some of the items we ordered: - brew bears (cinnamon toast crunch and salted caramel - this is basically a cold brew with a flavor you choose and it comes in a cute bear cup. We thought the drinks were a bit underwhelming but the concept was super cute. I liked that there was the option to make the drinks with oat milk) - ribeye melt (I got this and enjoyed it -- the meat was juicy and the toppings/sauce all went well together. It was a huge portion so it lasted me two meals. The fries were also well salted and crispy.) - fried chicken and maple donuts (bf got this and really enjoyed it, the maple donuts were delicious and surprisingly went well with the chicken) The variety on the menu was nice, we were struggling to decide what to order since so many items looked good. We'll definitely be back to try more on the menu for our next Disney trip!

Truffle fries
CeCe S.

I had a great experience at Great Maple. The portions were huge and the food was tasty across the board. The truffle fries were especially good and definitely a standout. Service was a little slow, but they were able to accommodate our party of 10, which included a bunch of kids, so that was appreciated. We had just finished Pixar mini golf and this ended up being the perfect spot for lunch afterward. I would definitely come back, especially for a casual group meal.

ribeye sandwich and seasonal donut

Heard Great Maple was a popular brunch spot and wanted to try it out while we visited Downtown Disney. Between 2 people we split the Portobello Mushroom Fries, the Rib Eye Melt, and one of the seasonal doughnuts, which was a strawberry and lemon flavor. The Portobello Mushroom Fries were a great start. They were crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside, a really fun and delicious alternative to regular fries. The Rib Eye Melt was decent, and the meat was tender and the combination of cheese and pesto was spot on. For dessert, we got the seasonal doughnut (strawberry and lemon). I heard the donuts at Great Maple were popular, but I couldn't really tell why. The donut tasted pretty mediocre and was very dense instead of fluffy and light. Those 3 dishes left us pretty full. It's a decent option to eat at if you want to visit Downtown Disney and need parking. We were able to get parking validated instead of paying $10 at the Downtown Disney lot so it was worth it for that. It is on the pricey end, as most of the restaurants in Downtown Disney are.

What other better place to celebrate our friend reunion at a place called "Reunion"? ;)…read more We were looking for a good brunch place to try out and found this place near Corona. Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!
