Great great service! Very honest and thorough. Only took about 30 min for an oil change & tire rotation. I would highly recommend bringing your car here read more

Quick service and friendly team made this a great spot for this new-in-town person to get an oil change. Nick pointed out the convenient Starbucks inside Randall's next door where I could wait a bit more comfortably. We will be back! read more

They had a coupon for a free oil change and they honored it without upselling or throwing in a bunch of fake repairs. It was done quickly, they were very polite, and even sent a followup letter a few days later thanking me for bringing my car in. read more

Got my other car inspected today by Great Hills Shell and the service was, as always, speedy and of the utmost quality. Love that I can drop off my car on my way to work and walk the rest of the way just a few blocks from their location! Also glad to see they are "A" rated by Better Business Bureau of Central Texas. http://www.bbb.org/central-texas/business-reviews/auto-repair-and-service/great-hills-shell-in-austin-tx-47515 read more

My truck lost accelerating power on the freeway! I put on my flashers and "coasted" into this Shell Station at 10:45AM--not realizing it was a TRUE "service station" with certified mechanics! Bob greeted a frazzled me with a kind mannerism that put me at ease. He told me they would look at it asap. I got a call 90 minutes later spelling out the repairs that needed to be made, and he hoped that I could have it the SAME afternoon! They even offered me a ride to work, but I opted for a Lyft so they could keep working. My Lyft driver said that he picks up many riders from this Shell, and that folks come from far away to this shop and they are very satisfied customers--and that I was in good hands! And they offer 12k mile warranty. read more

Needed an inspection and stopped in here in between seeing my clients. Literally had it done within minutes, had smiles on their faces and were super kind! Only $7 for my diesel inspection. Awesome! Coming here again next year. read more

Came here earlier this week for a state inspection and had a great experience. Quick service and excellent customer service. I highly recommend them and will definitely be back! read more

Went today for an oil change after getting the run around at Wally World (they stated a two hour wait time with only 2 cars ahead of me, WTH?). Spoke with Bob on the phone and in person. Very friendly person. Was in and out in 30 minutes and it cost me $31 and some change. That's pretty quick. You would never know that they were there if you didn't take the time to look and see it was more than a Shell Gas Station. read more

Great place to go if you want a quick and easy state inspection for your car. Only took about 15 minutes.

Needed a state inspection and was trying to early vote in the Randall's around the corner. Tried the little place next door but they were booked up for the day. Right beside them I find Great Hills Shell and thought I'd try them. What a stroke of luck! Walked in and was immediately greeted. Walked to the back 'service' looking window in the rear but the guy who greeted me asked if he could help. Told him I needed an inspection and he said he could help me. I asked how long it would take and he said would half an hour be ok? Yes. Yes it would. Cruise over to Randy's and get my early vote on. Walk to the other side of the store and got my flu shot. Walked out and picked up my car. No hassles, no waiting, just done. And really friendly to boot. Last but oh so not least. They put the sticker on straight! Man, how I hate looking at a crooked sticker for a year. Thanks guys. Will be back. read more

I've been taking my cars here for over 8 years for oil changes as well as various repairs. The service managers Bob & Brad are great to work with, and they're a very honest shop. My favorite story is when I got a used car and asked them to check it out. Not knowing its history, they expected based on it having nearly 90k miles that it was probably time for a tune-up, new spark plugs, etc. Later in the day they called me to let me know that there was a sticker they couldn't see until they started working on it that said this work had been done at 60k miles. They just charged me a bit for the labor, and saved me several hundred dollars in unnecessary maintenance! read more

Great experience! Went in for an oil change and inspection and was out of there in 45 minutes. When I asked about any specials going on, they gave me the yelp oil change and tire rotation deal right there. How great is that? Friendly, honest, quality service. I will be back.! read more

I was on my way to work when my tire blew out and lost pressure very rapidly. I pulled off the highway and stopped here with what my car started ready as 1psi when I pulled in. They had me out in 20 minutes! I was sure the tire wouldn't be savable but they managed! These guys are life savers! Great customer service as well. Will definitely come back and would definitely recommend them! read more

I came here today on my lunch break for an unscheduled state inspection. It took all of 10-15 minutes. Highly recommend!

Friendly, reliable and quality service. My family and I go here for all car needs. Highly recommend!! I always appreciate their communication and customer care. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about Great Hills Shell: family-owned, fair-priced, super fast service, nice and helpful staff. They don't have a great convenience store inside, but they are the best oil change/inspection in North Austin. I won't be taking my car elsewhere, no matter what comes in the ValPak. read more

I've been taking my cars to Great Hills Shell for oil changes and small repairs for about 2 years now. I had problems with Jiffy Lube and other chains but Brad and the team at Great Hills have always been fair and upfront with any work that needs to be done. read more

Came for a inspection, super friendly, quick service with absolutely no waiting. Really excited it's just around the corner from my apartment. Will be using them again! read more

We've been using this garage for years and they actually are an honest garage. Half the time we bring the cars in with a problem and they tell us we can wait to fix it. Our cars are very old, and we go for long periods of time between visits to the garage, and that is all because of them! read more

I've been coming here for well over 5 or so years. I have never had a bad experience here. Everyone is extremely friendly and the service is very efficient. I am certainly a very loyal customer... they know my name when I walk in the door. Love it. Definitely, the place to go to service your car. read more

They are definitely very efficient and friendly and open on Saturdays. I had my inspection here. The only thing - I did not feel any special approach and recommendations regarding my car which didn't pass inspection at first - it seemed they were trying to deal with multiple cars at a time and were not very interested in any particular one. read more

My tire was flat. After their inspection there were no obvious damage to the tire. The suggestion is to change the tire. And they are very polite and helpful. They did not change any for the checkup. read more

The customer service is outstanding! Everyone was courteous and friendly. Small waiting area but very accommodating employees. Will definitely be going back. read more

I came in for a vehicle inspection. They were friendly and polite and seeing im new to the US were extremely accommodating. I needed front light changed this was all done within half an hour at an extremely good price. Any car issues I will make sure I come here the ownwer has run this place for over 25 years and you can see why. read more

I found this place, quite by accident, shortly after arriving in Austin. They've been my mechanics ever since. I bring my car in for something specific, say a state inspection and an oil change, and they let me know what else the car needs and how much it will cost ... minus the high-pressure sales pitch. If it's really crucial, I'll have the other stuff fixed the same day. If it's not, and especially if I need time to save up for the repair, I bring the car back for the additional work. I really trust these guys. If they say my car needs something, I believe them. I never think that they're just trying to get more money out of me. Oh, bonus, I drop my car off, they take me to work. read more

Highly recommend Great Hills Shell. I've been there twice now for service to my car. On both occasaions they were super friendly, fast, fair priced, and didn't try to push any unneeded services - even when prompted. I asked if my tires or brakes needed replacement, and they told me I should wait another 10K miles before replacing them. Love it! read more

Hard to call it 5 stars now. Their test drive during a road trip check missed busted rear hub bearings and a shot rear differential. The sound was pretty noticeable from driving it, and the transmission shop said a mechanic definitely should have noticed it during a test drive. The service they DID do was good and at a solid price, but I'm a little concerned that their test drive missed it. I'll give them credit for owning up to the oversight when I took it back in considering that they said the amount and type of work was beyond the scope of what they can handle, however. I'd say that if you know your car is fine and only needs tune ups or a cursory check, it's a good place to go. If you think there might be something substantial...maybe you should take it to a more "heavy duty" shop. read more

Went in for an inspection on short notice and while there were two other people in front of me, it was a short wait. All the employees there were happy and friendly so it was a pleasant experience. I'm happy that they're open on Saturday. read more

I love this place. Where else can you get an unscheduled oil change and tire rotation in 30 minutes? Plus they have a buy four oil changes get one free deal. Plus if you mention that you found them on yelp, you get the tire rotation free. All for $35 out the door, yes please. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I have come here for service twice and have been blown away each time by how professional, honest, and all-around kind the staff is. I have been in the area a while and didn't know they were here...I will come here for all car maintenance from now on. After being the victim of repeated "attempted swindling" at auto mechanic shops, I can truly say that this place is one-of-a-kind, in that they are straightforward and honest. So refreshing. Highly recommended! read more

I did not have a terrible experience, but I definitely won't be going back. If your car calls for synthetic blend oil (including all GMC/Chevy/Cadillac models 2011 & newer), I hope this helps: I took my 13 Malibu in for an oil change. I recently bought the car, and I didn't realize it called for a synthetic blend oil (obviously, my own fault). I dropped my car off and was told it would be done in an hour, and that they would call me when it was finished, so I went to run some errands. I came back 2 hours later, and it still wasn't finished. Then I got the bill for $80, which sounded high, even for synthetic blend. Turns out the Chevy & Cadillac dealerships down the street will do the synthetic blend oil change, tire rotation, and visual inspection for $40. Like I said, not the worst experience ever, but I'm not paying 2x the price for oil changes. read more

Got a flat tire last week & pulled in this gas station & surprisingly it was also a automotive repair center! I was clueless of where to go & as I looked around one of the guys who worked there approached me & asked if he can help. He directed me to the building where you go ask for a service. They got to it & I was out in about 10 minutes! No scams, no stories, they did point out my tires needed to be replaced soon but that was about it. Came back for an oil changed a week later & got a punch card for oil changes, buy 4 get the 5th one free!! read more

I've been going here a while for minor repairs and maintenance on a few cars. They are friendly, knowledgeable, take time to explain things without being curt or condescending, and fair. My wife is also super comfortable going here. They are just good at what they do... open, and honest. read more

Great service, quick turnaround. The guys always seems to be very honest and helpful. I will continue to give them my business.

Love, love, love these guys. I have been taking my 2004 Chevy Avalanche and 2006 Jeep to these guys for about 2 yrs now. I started with just having them do oil changes. I now have them do all mechanical work on my autos as well as the oil changes. They have performed brake jobs and tire rotations and flushes as well as many other things I have needed. I totally trust them and recommend them to anyone looking for an honest repair shop. read more

Honest, reliable, trustworthy, forthright, professional, not necessarily words you associate with your car-care experience, unless you come here! We've been bringing a 125K truck and a 220K mi sedan here 4+ years - not too long but enough to know if a service station is good. They've done their best to ensure that the work and parts are needed vs. just throwing parts at the problem and hope it solves it. Haven't ever needed to talk for a long stretches at a time but they always seem pretty nice. I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more
