a grilled sandwich and a pickle
    Yani O.

Wow this place was such a pleasant surprise. I was driving up from Orlando, FL to Brooklyn, NY and really wanted a delicious, flavorful and filling sandwich to hold me down for the journey ahead. I ordered the mozzarella panini which came with a pickle on the side (always a great pairing). Anyways, the bread was warm, crunchy and best of all fresh! Now the thing that sets this one apart from the other sandwiches I've had was the bread to cheese to tomato to sauce ratio was perfect! The only thing that could have made this better is if they gave me another one right after.

Very welcoming staff as you enter. We ordered coffees and my boyfriend got a scone. We sat for a little while before I noticed the sign hanging in the window with the breakfast sandwich. So we asked at the counter about them. They have one style but you choose the bread and meat. I can eat real sourdough but not regular breads. They have the real deal and by golly it was delicious! Toasted perfectly, with egg and bacon (boyfriend had Swiss in his) and the coffee was nice too. They had some other yummy sounding breads I wish I could try. Nice little place with seating inside or out. Coffee, deli style, homemade breads, and grab and go cooler. Something for everyone.

I drive past this location quite often and I will have to say I'm sad I never stopper by before. Their cookie butter latte was delish and the sandwich? Some type of sorcery. It was hands down the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The meat to veggie ratio was wonderful and the spreads that come in it and offered to me was killer. I will be coming back again just for these amazing sandwiches. The perfect egg was so delicate, but sturdy to hold it's value in the sandwich. Nothing fell apart!!! I'm drooling thinking about it. The space is just right for the Lorton Station area. It has the perfect amount of lighting if you need a place to work or study. The people that work there are so welcoming and helpful. They have a lot of individual retail sales which I adore. They sell a lot of their popular breads for take home as well. I purchased the pesto parmesan loaf. It is quite a lot so it's great to share with a big family! So many options to make at home!

LOVE AND BREAD MAKE THE WORLD GO 'ROUND. I think I've found my new favorite cozy NoVA/Lorton area lunch/dinner/coffee spot. This has been my second visit here so far and certainly will not be my last. I've been to a large quantity of cafes/paneras/casual lunch eateries/bakeries in my lifetime (I am sorry wallet), and I have got to SAY this place is LOVELY, HEALTHY, and so GOOD. Like good for your soul good. I had their Mediterranean sandwich on cheesy garlic bread (pictured) with soup combo ($3.95 add on with any sandwich) and as someone who is quite health conscious this meal left me feeling so rejuvenated. As you can see the sandwich has freshly washed bell peppers, cheese, lettuce, red onion (raw), cucumber, and tomatoes and it tasted so clean yet DELISH. There was also hummus and avocado, can I get a cheer from the vegetarians out here? Very vegetarian friendly and I saw gluten free and vegan options available for their freshly baked goods as well. Pros about the food: super healthy, fresh, not overly salty (YAY) and made with love Pros about the bread: freshly baked (it's obvious), seems not overly processed, and very very tasty (try cheesy garlic please) Pros about the service: Hey if you made it this far into my review (thank you), and one thing I gotta add is...the SERVICE is super warm. There's a man and younger lady who I've seen working here and they are both the friendliest human beings. I had ordered a soup + sandwich combo from here and took a soup (butternut squash) from their to go fridge. I didn't realize he had packed another soup and told him I had two by accident when he gave me my order. He gave me the extra soup (chicken noodle) for free!!!! You guys have something good going and thank you for not disappointing both in bread/food/and service. Will make my return trip back soon and might bring a friend or two!

Whenever I'm craving quality baked goodies, I come to Great Harvest for both their fresh selections and their service. I highly recommend the scones, which are large, fluffy, not overly sweet, and are a dream to have with coffee or tea. My favorite is the berry scone while the butterscotch one is a bit on the sweeter end, but both have delicious sweet cream cheese threaded through it. Also, their breads are some of the best in the area, and with bread this good I usually enjoy them to the fullest extent with high quality butter/cream and a bit of honey. I haven't tried much of their meals or sandwiches, but of the ones I've had, I do not recommend the grilled cheese as it's panini pressed and by the time you eat it, the cheddar and provolone are a bit tough and un-melted. Not sure if this is due to how it's prepared or if provolone is simply not ideal for a grilled cheese sandwich. I did really enjoy the Almond Butter and Jelly sandwich though! I know, basic, but I eat carbs for pleasure, not for sustenance ;) Note * You can get half loaves of most of their breads * There's seating outside * They're closed on Sundays

Great Harvest Bread Co franchises can be found all across the US, and this particular store is sisters with the Burke bakery. Great Harvest is known to grind spring wheat kernels on a daily basis to make their whole wheat flour, so you know you're getting fresh-baked breads that's literally baked and crafted from scratch! Items that they offer include Honey Whole Wheat, Orange Cranberry, Sunflower Crunch, Focaccia, Tuscan Herb, etc. They also have sweets, such as cookies, scones, muffins, and tea loaves. We stopped by here for a later lunch, and ordered their Grilled Cheese panini, and purchased some Cheddar Garlic rolls and an oatmeal cookie. Just note that the kitchen works a little slow, as we waited about half an hour to receive the food. At first glance, I was a little worried that it wouldn't taste good as the bread itself seemed hardly 'grilled,' and there wasn't any butter to make the exterior slightly crispy. However, the sandwich was a pleasant surprise, as it was super cheesy inside! The combination with the duo of the cheeses and the garlic spread made this pretty much the cheesiest grilled cheese I've had! It was pretty tasty. The panini also comes with a side of pickle, but be sure to wipe off the mustard seeds. I also had a chance to try out their bread pudding squares, and these are super delicious! It has more of a denseness to it, but it's not overly sweet and had a nice hint of cinnamon and spices. YUM! Some staff were friendly, others were a little stand-offish; a smile goes a long way! Plenty of counter and table seats. Don't forget to sign-up for their monthly menu that features daily specials! +slow orders! +Grilled Cheese panini +bread pudding bars +hit-or-miss service +monthly bread newsletter

    Lorton chicken salad

Been going here for years and now the past few months the prices for a sandwich are ridiculous, but now they are half the size they used to be. Always get the chicken salad, but now it's not the same size. $11 for this. Not including pickle or chips or drink. Not worth it.

It's 5 stars. Rockin' the free World with realness, some flave and panache. Great view on the goings on outside. Sunny and quiet place for a read, chat, browse in the paper, a date, a game, a thought, some people watching, checkers (in back) and coffee. It is a full-scale bakery that makes sandwiches, paninis (which are pressed, hot, closed faced sandwiches) that I am very fond of. Guys who work here, know their stuff: ASK them (politely)-don't put your screwed up lives on them. Customers here can be some of the most pathetic and rude I've yet come across: slouchy pre-teens, miffed divorced moms etc. Breakfast and late lunches. Aioli sauces. Cubans. Tuna 'wiches. BLTs. Turkey, bacon, veggies, soups, dips, bread, muffins, maples syrup, bagged coffee beans, drinks, chocolate milk, ice tea etc., pumpkin coffee, treats, rolls and healthy sandwiches. Great job! Great place! Friendly! Know their ingredients here. So know this: it is not a diner! They give free samples: bread pudding, muffins. Has a coffee station and plenty of seats. What more do you want. I am a repeat customer both for bread and coffee: both in Italian; perfetto! Some girls are just Yelp angry, because they uggos not being kissed. Rebel view: 5

I was sad to see that they don't offer 'housemade' pastries anymore, as I remember seeing in their past photos; their menu for their offerings was clearly updated. In addition, the drinks that we ordered were just not good at all: +the Toasted Marshmallow Latte - prepared with 2 shots of espresso, choice of milk, and a housemade toasted marshmallow syrup; this tasted like watered down coffee with no 'toasted marshmallow' taste; coffee could have been prepared strong, and we did ask for 'extra hot', but received it regular temperature +Witch's Potion - an apple cider with chai, topped with a dash of cinnamon; probably one of the worst ciders we've had - wasn't really sure the mixture with the chai, but this just seemed like it was an improperly steeped tea that did not have any flavor The staff were friendly, and there seemed to be local patrons who come here on a regular basis. The blue mobile truck is very cute, and they had some seating available with nice fall decor. We tried three items: the red velvet cake, the mocha cake, and an apple pastry (not sure of the exact name, but it reminded me of an apple turnover/empanada). Let's start with the red velvet cake, so good. Moist, flavorful, and honestly better than I expected. Red velvet is one of those cakes that's easy to mess up, but they executed it perfectly. What impressed me even more is that we bought it right before closing, didn't eat it immediately, and it still tasted amazing hours later even after being refrigerated. The mocha cake was well-made, soft, spongy, and clearly high quality, but it just wasn't for me. It has a strong coffee flavor, so if you're a coffee person, you'll probably love it. For me, it was about a 6/10. Now the real star: the apple pastry. This was everything. Perfectly flaky, lightly crisp on the outside, and filled with fresh, flavorful apples. It melted in your mouth! could've easily eaten multiples of these!! Service was also a highlight. Even though we came in right before closing, the staff was kind, patient, and efficient. Nothing felt rushed, which I really appreciated. The shop itself is cute and quaint. Perfect for a quick stop or a casual treat. Overall, Paris Baguette delivered. Some items may come down to personal preference, but the quality is there. I'd absolutely go back, especially for that red velvet cake and the apple pastry . Sidenote: they also have candles & birthday decor for purchase!
