This review is for Great Basin Roofing, LLC, DBA Great Basin Roofing and Solar (not to be confused with Great Basin Solar or Great Basin Roofing & Repairs). From the initial meeting with owner Carlos in September 2025 to get a bid for a new roof and solar panels, my husband and I were impressed. We first contacted Great Basin Roofing because of the great reviews and the fact they do both roofs and solar panels - we liked the idea of one company overseeing it all for continuity. After getting several bids we chose to use Great Basin Roofing, and we are very happy with that choice. Carlos is professional, knowledgeable, personable, and patient with questions. We also got to know office manager Victoria very well as there have been many phone calls and emails back and forth regarding the basics of the projects and ongoing challenges getting approval for the panels from NV Energy. Victoria has been outstanding in her almost-daily efforts to get updates from NV Energy and keep us informed and even made a special trip to our home to make it simpler for us to sign documents. Our roof was installed at the beginning of November by a crew led by Victor, who also provided great customer service. The crew got to work right away the first day tearing off our old roof and continued working two more days to finish installing our new roof. They worked full days, cleaning up at the end of each day, including through the wind and light rain to get the project completed on time. If you need a new roof, Great Basin Roofing and Solar should be on your short list of companies to call. We are still waiting impatiently for approval from NV Energy to have our panels installed (that's a story for another time); I'll update the review after the panel portion of the job is complete. read more

Updating at the request of the company, but with doing so I will be sharing what took place after my last review. The company did come back out to fix the leaks after a lot of communication issues. It rained about a week or so later and we realized one of the leaks was not fixed, and my child's room had a ton of water coming in. We again had communication issues. When two men did come out, they were able to put something up to fix the issue and the company told us we do not need to pay the remaining $500. All in all, I will not be working with this company again due to their lack of communication. The discount they gave us due to the problems is appreciated, & when the guys were here they were all very kind which is why I am updating with 3 stars. read more

Wanted metal roof on my 2200 sq ft home. Shopped on line found I like Decra Metal. Spoke to a rep in California who gave me Great Basin as their best source. Called for an appointment voice on the phone was friendly and booked my appointment for the owner Carlos. He was a NO Show No Call. Called to find out he double booked and didn't even try to fix it. Spoke with Decra asked me to try again, so I did called scheduled an appointment for today. And today Same Thing NO SHOW NO CALL by the OWNER CARLOS!!!! Reported to Decra. When you discover that indeed you do need a new roof, it is a shock to the system! So much time has passed since you last replaced a roof, you know sticker shock is just waiting there for you, plus you no longer have any idea who to call, much less use, to replace your roof. Once again I fall back on Yelp and start my search right there! My suggestion is to get at least 4 or 5 quotes. We did and were disheartened at the quotes and until all the old shingles come off, you do no know of you are also replacing all the plywood underneath. Thanks to the pandemic, the cost of wood has literally 'gone through the roof!' Our last appointment was with Great Basin Roofing. Joe came by and was pleasant and had the information we needed. By this time, we know more about roofs then we ever cared to know! He gave us a great quote, with quality 40yr warranty shingles, had the color I wanted and so we quickly accepted their quote and this was on a Tuesday. By Friday, our roof was completed. It took them two full days but their men worked hard, were careful about the cleanup each night and the work exceeded our expectations in every way. I now have the black roof on my gray stucco home I always wanted, we now have five large vents on the backside of the roof that we were missing, we have the metal flashing all the way around and it looks great! Before you hire Great Basin Roofing (GBR), read all of this. Initially, we were excited to hire GBR to install a metal roof on our home in Washoe Valley, Nevada. The references I checked seemed positive and the company's owner, Carlos, was very personable. The guy heading up the job, however, was very unresponsive and short-tempered. Towards the end of the project Carlos became less reliable in communicating with us. When the roof was finished we had a dispute over the final price, but eventually my paperwork proved I was correct. As time passed we noticed a lot of construction debris in our gutters and an assortment of roofing screws in our lawn. But that's not the half of it. After the big storms last winter we noticed a major leak inside our house, ruining drywall and deeply soaking the wood floor. We were involved in an interior remodel at the time and I had our contractor check things out. THE NEW ROOF WAS LEAKING. We contacted GBR and they eventually came out to fix the leak. I've attached a photo of their outrageous repair. They used a Black Jack type product, which is not just temporary, but totally wrecked the look of my roof! After I contacted the Nevada State Contractors Board, GBR came out and put another coat of a similar product on the roof and spray painted it blue. Despite being told by Carlos (in an email) that he would pay for the damages inside the house, he never has. I've put off writing this in the hope that GBR would step up and properly disassemble the portion of the roof in question, fix it properly and professionally, and pay for the damages inside. Carlos is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy who was very informative about his product and the process. Unfortunately, the crew of workers who replaced our roof didn't take their job as seriously and cut many corners. The existing drip edge was removed in some places but not others, and then covered up with new drip edge. This led to a roof line that is not flush in multiple places - I literally have a roof edge with a 3/4 inch drip edge in under part and the remaining length with nothing under it. Also, left the 3/4 existing drip edge on the gable edges but took it off on the other edges. Not sure how someone could look at this and be comfortable with their work. This is pretty frustrating give we spent 22k on this job. I had to have Carlos send his crew back to take care of unfinished corners on the drip edge, uncut corner shingles, and unfinished flashing around the chimney. Carlos seems to run a good operation and genuinely care about his customers. That is why we choose to do business with him. Really wish his crew would have taken more pride in their work. read more

Great Basin Roofing is AWSOME !!!. we Needed to have our metal roof replaced on our Trailer, as well as the carport. they also do fencing as well as gutters. I had them come out and give me a bid to do the job. I also needed a fence put up on the dog run as well as some gutters on our garage, all of those repairs were well needed. They came out gave me a bid, the owner was very professional, courteous, and advised me of their financing. He also advised me he works with his customers . The bid was very reasonable. They came out and did all the work in a very reasonable time. I was very surprised all the work done was Excellent. what I also liked is they clean up behind them after any work they have done. the workers are very professional and courteous as well as polite. I have hired other companies to do work for me the results buyer's remorse. . I would refer Great Basin Roofing to all my friends , family, and coworkers, or just anyone looking for a great company to do the work. The financing was easy . Go to the financing company secure website put some information in they will pre approve you that same day and the funds takes about 3 working days to be put into your account. Carlos and crew were professional and completed the job in a timely manner. We hope the spray-on rejuvenation product promising to extend the life of our asphalt shingle roof 5 years actually do that. The shingle repairs done didn't quite match ascetically. GBR used a different shingle, but they look like solid repairs with lots of goop. The crew took the time to seal up around all vent pipes. We had rain on spray-day, so the crew rescheduled. We were happy about that. It was a tough process getting a contractor for this job. Most wanted to reroof, or wouldn't come out to even look at it. When the two guys came to give me a quote, they stood in the driveway and low-balled the quote. They would NOT get on the roof to inspect it prior to quoting, even though I suggested it several times. The quote did include a clause that if they later found a problem, they would charge an additional $85 an hour, per person plus supplies. Which could drive the quote much higher than the other quotes I received from companies who actually took the time to inspect my roof. Buyer Beware!! read more

I would not recommend them to anyone!! The color of our roof tile was not the color we thought we were getting they refused to help us out all they wanted to do was charge us $2500 to change the color and we're not willing to work with us at all for $11,000 we should be happy but every time I look at my roof all I think about is how they were so unwilling to make a customer happy. Carlos and his crew came out and gave us an estimate for our mobile home roof replacement on September 13, 2022. He was very straightforward and gave us accurate details on what we needed to have done. He made sure that we understood the details of what needed to be done and provided accurate information regarding the types of shingles and the warranty. They also installed rain gutters on the entire house as he explained to us that 100 feet of rain gutter is included in the bid. He also gave us an estimate of how much the roof replacement would cost. This is an excellent company. All of the employees are professional and courteous. Victoria was excellent with communication and even drove to our home to pick up payment. This company offers 3rd party financing which we were able to gratefully utilize to have our roof replacement done. There was a slight mishap with the supply delivery company, but it was quickly and efficiently handled by Victoria and Carlos. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs roof repair and/or replacement. I give the entire company 5 stars and their communication skills were unratable as they were excellent, definitely more than 5 stars!! read more

I got online to check out roofing companies, in 2 days the owner of Great Basin showed up at my house to give me an estimate, that is service. He gave me an estimate the same day and I said, Do it. The crew showed up on the day we agreed on and started tearing off the old roof, when I got home from work on the second day, my roof was completed and every little speck of shingle was raked up and my whole house was cleaned up. I was so amazed on the work they did. Carlos is in my opinion the best roofer in Nevada. My friends saw the roof and now want him to do there's. He was the best price and the fastest. Carlos and his men were great to work with. They are, and this is only my opinion, pricey. However, that being said, I did not give them a lot of notice and needed it done ASAP, so I was okay with going ahead with the project and price. I did get other quotes that were $3000 cheaper, but no one could get the roof done in the timeframe I needed. The other thing I am pressed with is he gave a senior/military discount. It was worth every penny. Great Basin Roofing was able to come in get it done!! It may have been cheaper if I had known the other lender was not ready to close, but that is another story in and of itself. The men showed up on time and worked all the way through with a minimal lunch break. It was HOT those days, but they continued with their work knowing the deadline. A few things were not cleaned up and a piece of equipment was left, but nothing to warrant giving a low or bad review. Things happen and get missed. I picked up the debris, put it in the dumpster. Not a big deal. The next day one of his workers picked up the piece of equipment and all is good. I would recommend Great Basin Roofing LLC. I will call them again when and if I need a new roof. i am 62. i have hired many of the trades over the years. great basin has got to be number 1. i have an 1150 sq ft home. in only one day they got 99.9 % of my roof done.and they had to remove all the old shingles!! basically just clean up for day 2. i would highly suggest you hire them for anything roof related!!!! read more
