Had them give me an estimate for roof "repairs." They came back with an estimate for a total roof replacement for $45k! Then, when I challenged that, they came back with $28k! That tells me right there they were not truthful about what needed to be done. I will not be recommending them to other home owners I know. read more

This is a very impressive company. - Good value for the work done. - Left the premisis spotless - Did excellent work. The lady who answered the phone was enthusiastic and friendly. I spoke with the owner (Joe) and he's super friendly and helpful. I greeted the roofers in the morning and returned at the end of the day. A lot of roofers play games when it comes to clean up. Ripping out the work EFR did, to the raw wood to redo substandard work. Especially around the drains and parapet walls. No short sheeting or other short cuts that EFR did. If we could give 6 stars, we would. Joe's Roofing did an incredible quality job on our replacement roof. We got bid from two different companies and were startled by the quality difference in the bids. We made a leap of faith and went with what we considered higher quality, and chose Joe's. The day of our job, they had about 9 men working from early AM until 7 pm and finished the roof. Not only did they do an excellent job on the roof - detailed, seamless, beautiful - they also took extra care lifting our patio which was connected to the old roof to replace the shingles underneath. We were impressed with their professionalism and care of our property - they showed up and draped all of our plants to ensure they wouldn't be hit by debris, and afterward cleaned all of our gutter (spotless) and blew around the property so it was also very clean. My review is not for workmanship. I never maid it past the estimate Joe Q. kept forgetting me. He did come out never got on the roof. He told me I needed new fascia boards and recommended some engineered wood boards that were very expensive. He recommended ridge line vents even after telling me Joe S. the owner didn't like them. I assume the boards and vents would be more commission for Joe Q.. Joe Q came out on a Friday afternoon. Monday rolled around and passed Tuesday I called Joe Q said I fell through the cracks again. It's mid-day Wednesday no email no call nothing. Rather than blow me off just say you're too busy to complete the job. read more

Joe's roofing is not an lesser arm of a big company out of Vegas, the Bay Area or Denver, it was born right here in Reno, built by a man whose family helped build Reno, literally. They did a good job putting on the new roof however they are complete slobs. I got a new roof four months ago and I'm still picking up pieces of roof all over the ground debris in my garage. Everything I had stored in my garage has dirt from the roof on it. Then when they were finished, they left the satellite dish hanging off the roof by a cord and had to come back put that on then they took my outdoor trashcan and said they would bring it back and they never did They also smoked cigarettes in front of my house on my front porch and I have a non-smoking house The owner finally contacted me about 5 months later and apologized for his terrible crew. He stopped by my house and cleaned up some of the mess they left and brought me a new trash can read more

Asked for some relatively minor tile and chimney repair work and Joe came over and took a look. Honest guy who gave straightforward feedback and advice about the longevity of my 34 year old tile roof. Yes, I know I need a new roof soon or now, but he was happy to give me some real feedback about the underlayment condition when he pulled up a couple tiles. That is the kind of feedback I really need that will have me go back to them when I do get it replaced. Other companies wanted to do the whole roof or do nothing at all. I received a quote quickly and the crew sourced some old tiles and came over and did the work, all within a 2 week period. Price was reasonable and crew was friendly. Edited because I forgot to mention that I asked Joe if he did gutter work while he was over and he said no but offered to loan me his ladder for the whole weekend so I could rehang a section myself! While they couldn't obviously complete the repair for safety purposes, they went above and beyond to help my parents tarp the roof to salvage what they could and then quote them the repairs to be completed at a later date. We needed an estimate done on our roof so I called a few local places. Joe's Roofing was the only one to get back to me within a reasonable amount of time. Jesse came out and took a look at our roof. Living in not-roof-friendly Incline Village, they fixed an irritating leak issue that was difficult to source. These folks responded in an impressive, professional way and in six hours replaced about 200 sq.feet of shingles with added ice/water shield underlayment. It was all-hands on deck from the get-go. Every time I call in for help I talk to the wonderful Darcey and she gets me set up, then Derrick comes out and explains what needs to be fixed and gets it taken care of! We had a roof leak during the last rain and snow storm. We we lucky that Joe was nearby and was able to come to find where the leak was within an hour. He had his crew come, trudge through the snow, shovel the snow off the roof and complete a temporary fix before noon. Joe and his crew were professional and courteous.
