This was the second time we used Lobo roofing. Our house needed a new roof based on insurance requirement. However we had to pay out of pocket all of it. So we shopped around. Ed and Shay helped develop and coordinate the project. Extra steep, three layers. Cedar shake. Everything to make it a challenge for the removal. On top of all of that there was rain, the one time we have rain this summer. It ended up being a 2 week project that they obviously had to do in between other projects. The roof came out nice and now fully vented up to code. Some suggestions for improvement for lobo: perhaps show clients shingle options before work has started. Also some communication leading up would be nice. But overall they did well on this challenging project. read more

Our rental home had a leak in the tile roof above the garage. Not a big leak but it still needed to be fixed. We decided to get at least three estimates from local roofers that were available. Lobo was one of those bids. They are getting two stars for coming out when they told us they would be there. But I am not happy with their business practices. My husband and son met them at the property. The workers checked out the area to be fixed and told us it should take two guys half a day to fix the lining under the tile and then they would put the tile back in place. They were not fixing the drywall in the garage just the roof repair. We were quoted $1,800 for the fix and we never got the written estimate just a verbal from the guy who came out. That was not in line with the first estimate we got from another roofer. A few hours later the boss called us asking if we planned to get the roof fixed, he then laughed and asked if we thought the price was too high. I never told him one way or another because I was surprised by his response. Immediately, he told me he would lower the price to $1,500, laughing all the time and not really coherent. I can understand that the weekend can be a time for having a drink but don't call a customer unless you can be professional. And remember, this is America and we don't normally haggle the price here. Instead you should have a valid reason for the price you are charging. That should be given in a written estimate so that the customer know what they are paying for and a fair price. If your price is out-of-line, the customer can move on and not waste anymore time. I will be using a top company that I have used before even though it will take several weeks to get out there. And their quote was $700. read more

I contacted lobo roofing because it had good reviews on yelp. A man even came out to give me a estimate and said he would would come out week later to fix the roof. Then called to delay one week and said next week for sure. Now they won't even answer my phone call. I would highly recommend Lobo Roofing if you need to reroof your roof. It was a pleasure working with Ed Lobo and his crew. They were very professional and worked extremely hard during some adverse weather conditions. We needed to have the plywood replaced also, which extended the timeframe of our job, and required the crew to work the weekend to beat a large storm impacting Reno. The crew literally worked from sunrise to sunset, and rarely stopped the entire day. In the construction business you typically do not find such dedication. Ed and his team have done TWO roofs for me since December 2020. The first roof he did was in connection with the sale of a home and the buyer was worried about the state of the old roof. Ed was able to get the roof replaced (and did a great job) in just one day! Ed is a good guy, honest and very quick work. My roof was a mess on the in-law quarters of the house I just purchased, he knew it, I knew it but his guys did a great job cleaning up the layers upon layers of old disgusting shingles. He ran in to issues with rotting fascia's (sp?) and worked with me on the cost of replacing them and still got the job done quickly. Ed's real name is Imtiaz Ahmed. He installed a heavy wooden gable roof on my single wide mobile home which previously had a lightweight half-moon metal roof without inspecting the foundation to see if would support the extra weight. He placed our lives in danger as the extra weight could've caused our home to fall because we found out later that the foundation needed to be reinforced in order to support the heavy roof. After checking with the Nevada State Contractors Board, at nscb.nv.gov, we found out he has had several complaints that caused his license to be suspended and fined by the NSCB. I would not recommend Lobo Roofing to anyone. Do your homework before you even think of hiring him. read more

I called Lobo Roofing for a roof inspection. Ed said he would be there the following day between 9 - 12pm. I had to call numerous times as he didn't show up as scheduled. Hours after he said he would be there he arrived. He did not even go on the roof! He said he could see it from the ground and saw all that he needed. His inspection report was less than paragraph, included no photos, had misspellings and provided NO explanation as to what repairs needed to be complete or why. In addition to his extremely poor serve he charged $300 for the 10 minute "inspection," from the ground. You will waste your time and money with this company! read more

These guys have done work for me before. One of those times the area repaired leaked the next time it rained. I called Ed and he sent his guys promptly back and they fixed it at no charge. So when we had a big rain recently and a leak appeared at the top of a window (not associated with the earlier repairs) I called Ed. He said he had his guys in my area and they would come by and check it out. Two guys came within a couple of hours to check it out. Ed said they could do a temporary repair that would last 2 or 3 years immediately. He said the repair would cost 8 or 9 hundred dollars. That seemed high but I wanted it fixed. His guys were at the house for less then an hour and the bill was just under $800.00. I protested the bill should not be more than $400.00 for an hour's work but the owner did not agree. I paid the bill but was less than happy. Rated on timeliness and quality I would rate Lobo Roofing a 4.5 but for price I would rate them a 2. I would highly suggest if you are looking for someone to fix your roof SHOP AROUND and get a few estimates. read more

I recently hired Lobo Roofing to perform extensive repairs to my roof. We agreed in writing that Lobo would receive a fixed sum of money for labor and that we would purchase the materials. Being elderly and on a fixed income it was the only way we could afford to repair our leaky roof. Lobo required us to pay 2/3 of the agreed amount in advance and only in cash. We paid the remaining amount when the job was complete. Now Lobo has sent us notice that if we don't pay them more they will put a lien on our home. Extorting money from the elderly is about as low as you can get!! read more
