I was so impressed with the responsiveness, the professionalism, and the hard work of Victor from Grayzer Electric. I recently purchased a home that was built in the 70's and the inspection showed some deficiencies in the electrical. I sent Grayzer the inspection along with a list of switches, lights, and fans that I wanted installed. The responded quickly and got service set up on a day that was convenient for me. Victor called before arriving to let me know when he would be there, and arrived within the window that I was told when I scheduled the appointment. He worked the entire day, until about 8:30 PM on a Friday, to make sure all of our items were addressed. We even ran into a hiccup when installing the pendant lights over our counter because of the preinstalled recessed lighting​. It was in the exact spot where we wanted the light to be hung. Just completed a mid-size project on my early-1970s-era 1600 sq ft house. Couldn't be happier with the results. I emailed Jeff a couple of months ago and had a *load* of questions and curiosities. Jeff responded thoroughly in writing through a long email chain, and tolerated a lot of newbie questions. Eventually, he ended up sending out one journeyman and two apprentice electricians, all of whom were extremely courteous, pleasant, professional in their demeanor. In 2 days of work they pigtailed all my aluminum branch wiring, put in recessed lighting in the kitchen, replaced various elements of my panel and subpanel, and dug out / repaired a number of very questionable in-wall wiring splices that were made by the previous owner of my house, who evidently was kind of a DIY fanatic, and not a careful one either. Anyway ... for me, a first-time homeowner, going with Grayzer was an awesome choice. I learned a lot in the process and both Jeff and his crew were helpful and open to all my questions and concerns. My wife and I are very happy with the electrical situation in our aging house -- we sleep much better, the devices are now up to date, the place is brighter, and there's no more flickering or sketchy weird outlet behavior. I will also recommend them to anyone I know who needs an electrician. The project: We bought a double oven, which required a 40 amp line, and our house was only wired for 30 amps to the oven. They came out and ran new 40 amp line, installed the new breaker, and got it completely ready for me to install the oven. This is an amazing electric company. Last year we completely remodeled our kitchen and dining/living area. Grayzer electric did a fantastic job with all of our lighting. They meticulously measured for can lights, making sure that they lined up as evenly as possible in our house. Everything looks amazing. They gave tons of advice about the spacing of lights and how to avoid having dim areas. Our house is an older home and it was not easy to place new lighting in. Wanted 2 more electrical outlets installed in my condo in Austin, TX and called 2 companies before them because I KNOW they are very busy and I was inpatient- one person had done work before for me and came to condo and called me from outside because he said "was tooooo involved!" lol- he just didn't want the work- the second company, MERIT, was suggested by management, and I called and told them my request and the service person that answered told me to text my contact info, which I promptly did, while I could tell the person I sent it to wasn't interested either- I waited a few days though, not wanting to involve another company- finally I called Grayzer and they were professional from first phone call answered by female in office taking my info and sending me appt and billing info via email to a reminder- - to the service person, ANDY who came in- assessed situation- retrieved tools from truck and proceeded to start and complete work- done quickly- correctly- aesthetically- and totally reasonably priced. Man, oh, man. If there was a way to leave 6 stars, I would! I initially contacted Grayzer over a year ago in order to address some faulty outdoor lighting/wiring that the previous owners had installed. I had to cancel the appointment due to a change of plans. The scheduling coordinator was very understanding as well as communicative. Fast forward to the present, and to the beginning of the process of putting our house on the market. We decided not to hassle with re-activating the DIY lighting that had previously been installed (incorrectly), and just remove all of the wires and junction boxes. When I contacted Grayzer this time, they were just as fast and responsive as before, and were also very accommodating. I secured an appointment slot 2 weeks out. Brock came out today, and was very friendly, professional and courteous. Plus, he knew his stuff! He caught a lot of the things that both a previous licensed electrician and a recent home inspector failed to catch. He didn't try to high-pressure me though; he gave me the options, and it was a no-brainer to get everything up-to-code. Brock fixed so many issues that I didn't even know existed, and boy, was he fast! At the end of it all, I was expecting a monstrous bill, but it was far less than I had originally anticipated. In the words of the legendary Daniel Johnston (RIP), "Do yourself a favor; be your own savior." You can save yourself time, money & stress if you call these guys. Also, as a native Austinite, it was important to me that Grayzer is local, and has been serving my hometown community for over 60 years. I hired Grayzer to replace my 18 year old main breaker panel that was showing burning on the bus bars and occasional AC breaker trip on a hot summer day if I left the panel closed. I wanted to start fresh without worrying about it again for a long time. They weren't the cheapest quote I got, and they couldn't get to the job as soon I was would have liked, but they were the ones I felt the most comfortable in using. They sent Victor out to do the work and he's a great guy. Oncor didn't show up on time to pull the meter like they were supposed to, but that didn't phase (pun intended) Victor. Instead of sitting around in his truck and waiting, he worked on the parts he could do while we waited for Oncor, such as driving the new 4 foot grounding rods and building up the new panel. He did this to minimize my electric downtime, which I and my Koi in my pond appreciated very much. He was meticulous and the job is very clean, which makes my OCD happy. Plus, he did it all in the heat with the sun beating down on him. At the end of the job, he spent a lot of time going over all the work with me, explaining what everything was, and giving pointers on various things. He even took a look at my sub-panel while bringing each circuit up individually to minimize in-rush. Victor even put on a cutout cover free of charge to cover the hole in the sub-panel when I moved a breaker down a slot. I plan to have a new outdoor circuit run sometime soon, and they will be the ones that get the work. Won't even look for another quote, I like them that much. read more

at first i was a little scared because i thought there was no way an electrician could get all 5 star rating on Yelp. I called and they said they were pretty busy and the next appointment was 5 days away. It made me feel a little better, and all of my worries were gone when they showed up. On my initial call, they gave me a preliminary quote after telling them what i needed. It really surprised me when they gave me a real quote in person that matched exactly what i was told earlier. I had gotten several other quotes and Grayzer was significantly less expensive. Also, they didn't find any reason to up their quote when in person. It seemed every other company explained why they thought it would cost more than normal to get the job done. Also, because it was a smaller job, they could do it on the spot after giving the quote. Jeff was the electrician that did the work. He showed up on time and with a smile on his face. He did an excellent job. When everything was done, his assistant said he would be right back with the invoice and broom to clean up. I told him it wasn't necessary to sweep up because i was doing work as well and i couldn't tell the difference between his sawdust and mine. He came back a few minutes later saying his boss told him it was company policy to clean up all messes. This shows they really have pride in their work. They also wiped down all of the outlets after installing them. They are not just the best electricians ive ever had, they are the best company i've ever paid to do work. Five stars really isn't good enough because they are way better than any company you could find. I asked for extra business cards just in case i ever run into somebody that needs an electrician. Overall we had a great experience w/Grayzer Electric. I called to have recessed lighting installed in the kitchen. They called back soon after, happily answered all of my questions and were available to do the work within a week. Max was the electrician who arrived (along with an assistant), and he did a great job consulting with me at every step of the way (ie., if the location had to slightly change with the canned lights). They laid plastic down on the floors, walls, and cabinets before starting and cleaned up the area nicely when they were finished.
