Those cinnamon rolls are no joke. The frosting is perfectly flavored and the rolls are slightly flaky/crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Their sourdough bread is top notch. It's not heavy and it smells like sourdough should smell. Toasted, sandwiched, plain, smeared with butter or jam? All good. Sunday morning drive through Duvall. With the floodwaters of the Tolt still receding slowly. My wife and I stopped for brunch. I had the breakfast sandwich on biscuit with ham. It was very yummy! I was only slightly disappointed because I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a bagel with bacon. I'm not one to complain. It was a busy Sunday morning and the two ladies behind the counter were all smiles even with the line at the counter going out the front door. I feel confident that, had I asked, they would have re-made the sandwich with no fuss. Give these guys a try next time you're in town or just passing through. It's worth it. read more

I drive miles to get their sourdough. They are master bakers. Everything tastes like the best in Paris, but GRAND! ;) Lovely place.

I absolutely love the space, the food, and the service is wonderful, kind, and attentive, but I had a gross, demeaning experience with an old male customer. After this insulting encounter, I let management know about this customer and learned from other customers that have had similar issues with this individual that management has done nothing to intervene. This experience was dehumanizing and I will not be coming back to this business again until something is done. I have heard multiple other customers have had similar issues with this individual in the restaurant, from being insulted to even unsolicited physical touch. Absolutely disgusting. read more

This place is pretty awesome. The pastries are fresh and of the various ones I've tried they're all good. The cinnamon rolls, muffins, scones, and pesto pizza bagels are my favorite so far. The croissants have too much butter for my taste but they do have excellent texture. Be forewarned the prices are a bit steep. Today I got 4 pastries and two mini sugar cookies and with tip ended up spending about $30. Because of the hefty prices it isn't a place I'd visit daily but it's good for a Saturday excursion. On our first visit we caught them as they were closing. They generously offered to still serve us, I still rushed myself to buy what was left in the case ham/cheese croissant, oatmeal raisin cookies, peanut butter cookie and we bought a cup of coffee and a loaf of sour dough too. As we left the store the cashier ran out and offered to give us an unsold day old loaf of bread if we wanted it, "yup". We ate our cookies and ham/cheese croissant in the car, I swear to you the BEST oatmeal raisin cookies and ham/cheese croissant you will ever have!!! That night I made grilled sourdough and grilled rye sandwiches for dinner... are you kidding me, it was so delicious I couldn't believe I had been missing out on this, my family was in bread heaven! I love that we have a bakery in Duvall. And the bread is decent. Would love more European choices. French and Italian breads would be great but I get it - they need to bake what sells and people buy what they know. The sweet things look good but I cannot eat these things. I'm a big fan of This place. Their baked goods are awesome and it's quite popular. The first time in we had pain au chocolat, a blueberry muffin, and a raspberry white chocolate scone. The second time in I had a cinnamon scone and my friend had a raspberry scone. Quality was great both times. If you're setting up a shuttle with two vehicles to do the Snoqualmie valley trail, this is a good place to stop in for morning treats. Knocked it a star because while they have THE TASTIEST, flakey butter croissants in town, you practically have to show up when they open to get anything more than one or two-- if you're lucky enough to get any. They give me the same story every time, order ahead of time. But who thinks about what they want for breakfast before breakfast; and two, what kind of bakery doesn't have croissants on hand? They have bucket loads of cookies...not sure who eats cookies that early in the day, but no croissants? Sniffles... I can understand you're going to order like a dozen or more or something for a planned occasion, but I just want like 4-6 and that's apparently too much to ask. Their cinnamon buns are good, their frosting used to taste like home made cream cheese frosting, now it tastes like store bought icing. Seriously what bakery doesn't have croissants? So now I have to actively think about croissants, because I don't have enough things to think about. This place has wonderful items.... I've had their coffee...Anchorhead (narwhal and leviathan flavors) and they both are amazing! I actually had to buy another bag on this most recent trip because my spouse enjoyed their coffee I bought last year! I've also tasted their peanut butter cookies (creamy and soft perfection!), their molasses cookies (the perfect amount of spice with nice texture) as well as their cinnamon buns. Wow. The frosting was to die for and the cinnamon bun was amazing. Not normally too keen on them, but here they were fluffy and flavorful! It's a quiet mom and pop shop and perfect to get a snack or some treats for your family. Next time, I want to try the pizzas they have. We've given them a few chances since moving to their new space, but have been disappointed each time. For instance, today we arrived as soon as they opened in the morning and the cinammon rolls tasted day-old, a tiny dollop of frosting on top instead of the generous amount they used to have. They seem significantly smaller, too, but we can't be 100% sure. It's unfortunate, we really used to like Grateful Bread, but if they can't maintain the quality which made them a Duvall staple to begin with, we will take our business elsewhere. read more

Once they were ready to take our order, they said they couldn't do sandwiches because it was past 3 pm.
