Awesome local bakery and diner! This place gives RR Diner from Twin Peaks vibes, you can see local regulars and sheriffs having breakfast here. We had been noticing this bakery for a while since we'd driven past it many times on our way to hikes, and we finally got to try it today. I had a breakfast muffin. It was great, very simple yet tasty. At first I thought one muffin might not be enough, but glad that was wrong, I was about 80% full after eating it. My partner got the avocado omelette, it came with toast and hash browns. We were surprised by how fluffy and soft the toast was, definitely the best toast we've had at any breakfast spot. He said the omelette was tasty too. We also grabbed some coffee and pastries before we left. I had a spicy German sausage and a chocolate bar, my partner got an apple fritter and an apple pull apart. I had the chocolate bar later after our hike. It was sweet and fluffy, not too heavy since I had it with coffee. Then I had the German sausage for dinner. The sausage was actually spicy, not just a mild black pepper kind of American European spicy, but a real deal spicy. I loved it! Staffs in the bakery were very friendly and attentive too. What a hidden gem!!! Actually there were quite a few ppl lined up when we got there, but we were blown away by their quality! Me and my friends were on our way to a hike and my sweet friend suggested this place. It did not disappoint! They have a mass variety of baked goods and pastries and a huge selection of breakfast items like burritos, sandwiches, soups, omelettes, etc. I ordered a sandwich for my hike and a super burrito to eat there, but was not expecting such huge portions for such an affordable price!! The Orange Filo Cake is perfect--syrupy, zesty, and aggressively layered--it will ruin every other dessert for you going forward, and the sandwiches are built on slices of homemade white bread that are so soft and delicious. The cutest little roadside bakery. What goes best with cozy winter cabins? Baked goods. One of my friends recently purchased a vacation property in this area, so visiting Sultan's was instantly added to our itinerary. This little biz is famous for their sliced cakes, pies, croissants, and baked loaves. I ordered a number of their baked goods, including a chocolate croissant, chocolate chip cookie, and a lemon bar. The lemon bar was by-far my favorite and will be an instant purchase on future visits. I personally did not love their food menu. I ordered the open faced turkey and mashed potato sandwich. It was pretty much a white piece of bread smothered in mashed potatoes, doused with an insane amount of gravy, and topped with a few pieces of carved thanksgiving turkey. It was so overwhelming that I barely got a few bites in. Highly recommend their baked goods, but maybe pass on the sammies. read more

The summary is get the baked goods, not the food from the kitchen. We got a breakfast burrito and it was $15. It was absolutely ginormous but it wasn't good at all. It was just an unbalanced and unseasoned scramble of stuff in a tortilla with food spilling out onto the sides and odd sharp cheddar cheese on top. I'm glad they gave salsa because it needed some flavor but even the salsa tasted like cheap stuff from a jar. The people who took our order seemed kind but when I asked them if there was ham, bacon and sausage in the burrito or if you had to choose one they didn't know. We got a cinnamon twist and a pecan pull apart and those were both good, although the twist could have used more cinnamon. The inside of the restaurant is pretty basic. I didn't see napkins anywhere so it seems like they only give them with the food. We definitely won't be coming back. There's just better places on the way to Stevens than this one. read more

I love Sultan Bakery! We've been spending our weekends snowboarding at Stevens Pass and stopped by after reading the great Yelp reviews. There's plenty of parking available but expect a crowd because this place is popular. The cinnamon cups are the GOAT. Like an upside down cinnamon roll with a glob of frosting in the center. The other baked goods and sandwiches are also delicious. Also, the prices are insanely reasonable. Almost everything is under $10 for huge portions. ($1 hot coffee too!) Whoever is running it now really needs to reevaluate how they cater to the folks that live in the valley. For savory items: I got their veggie grilled sandwich - warm and homely My husband got their 1/4 lb cheeseburger - liked it more than the fast food chain burgers, and it's cheaper too! I've been here three times and have ordered different things each time and i dont really have anything great to say about any of it. Stopped in for a quick grab and go of food while heading up skiing. We stopped in around 7:15 am and the bakery case was stocked full. I got the strawberry scone and it was massive and delicious. I was told by another realtor in my office "Once you go there, you have to stop every time you pass by" I stopped by on my way home one afternoon after they had sold just about everything in the case but I got some of each item they had left and WOW...the chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts were weighty and chock-full of goodness. So good! But our favorite was the croissants with slivered almonds...omg...so, so good!!! Next time I take a break from my disciplined diet, I am going to stop by earlier in the day when the case is full and order several more items to try. This is a must stop when you go through Sultan! An older Asian couple was ahead in line and the cashier was rude stating she "couldn't see what they were pointing to" in the bakery display when it was obvious they didn't know what it was called, but were pointing directly at the chocolate danish which was easily visible at either end of the counter. Not sure if cornmeal is in this dough...but it's got a slightly dry crumb and the jam on top is perfectly sweet. The ham omelet was outstanding. The eggs perfectly cooked! Husband made groaning sounds while eating. The bread was fantastic. Perfectly toasted and buttered. Thick slices, maybe made in house? Not sure as I didn't see bread for sale. Items brought back to the house (northern suburbia of Seattle) included a couple of (two) strawberry scones, a maple bar, a maple bismark, and a German sausage and cheddar crescent.
