Just signed a contract today for my generator, so I thought I would write a review (something I rarely do) about my experience. I talked with neighbors and studied online before choosing 3 local companies to get quotes from and deal with in personal visits to my home. No reason to be negative about the others, but suffice to say the rep from Generator Super Center was not well-informed, Gen Pro's was well-informed, but spent a lot of time "talking down" his competition and refused to quote me on the generator I asked to learn about. I later called him personally, his company twice, and was told the sales manager would get with me (I simply had a question about model numbers they quoted) - I am still waiting for a return call from anyone. Both were much more expensive in their quotes than Grasten for exactly the same things (I requested). Grasten was represented by Tyler Dias, who did an excellent job in every aspect from start to finish. He also quoted me the generator I asked for, then was willing (when I called him) to give a second quote, then a third as I gravitated from Generac to Cummins and finally decided on Kohler. Grasten's pricing was well below the other two, which is why I was able to afford the more quality product in Kohler (with their hydraulic lifters) and avoid the lawsuits and apparent poor quality and tendencies to ignore warranty claims (Generac) and the oft-mentioned slow service related to parts "lack of availability" in the second (Cummins). So, I'm thrilled to recommend Tyler in every way, Grasten in every aspect so far. I'll add a "complete" report once the generator gets installed. Good luck in your search! read more

Customer service is lacking, and they hardly answer the phone. They have double-billed me for a service, and 30 days later, I'm still trying to get my $700. Dollars back from them. I recommend looking at other companies for installation and maintenance before settling on them. read more

6/8/2026, Had a service tech by the name of Stetson Seidel come to do a standard maintenance on our Generac 22Kw whole house generator. Stetson was professional, and did the maintenance required in a timely and efficient manner. I have been doing business with Grasten Power Technologies for a few years now, and have never been disappointed with their service. Service! Our experience all started with our sales rep Colton. He did a great job explaining what our needs for a generator would be. He was not trying to upsell us with a unit we didn't need. After a couple of days of conversation with my wife and going over what was offered to us by other venders, we decided to go with Grasten. After doing all the paper work and paying the initial down payment, we were assigned a project coordinator by the name of Morgan. Morgan is great. We talked on the phone and then sent me an email with what needed to happen, when we needed to be home with dates and times. When I called with questions and updates she was able to talk to me right away, or if she wasn't in the office, she returned my call right away. There was only one hiccup with the project. During the final instal my tech informed us that there were a couple relay switches that were missing from the factory. My tech took pictures of the area where the switches should have been. The next morning I called Grasten's office and talked with Parts/service Dillon. I had asked him how long it would be to get the switches in. Dillon said he would call the manufacturer and call me back with an answer with getting us the parts. My wife and I we very anxious about getting the generator up and running since a storm was due to hit us that night. About an hour later, Dillon called us and said tech with the parts was on his way and should be there to our house in 20-30 minutes. When our techs showed up, they were friendly and worked very diligently to get my unit up and running. The unit fired right up and ran perfectly during testing. We are very happy with how Grasten solved a problem in such a quick manner. An A+ in customer service and I would recommend them to everyone looking for a generator. read more

This is the one year update for our Generac Generator. Right on schedule, Graston sent Brandon Cox out to do our one year maintenance. They followed up with us and scheduled the service. Brandon did all the checks and totally cleaned the machine after the required service. Graston sent a follow up email with pictures of the units output as well as the read out from the tools used by Brandon, e.g. Battery testing. I totally recommend Graston for your home and business generator needs. read more

I am not happy with the service I have been provided. Generator was installed on November 5, 2025, and the initial tests were successful. Later that day when the generator ran its own test, "an unexpected event" occurred. I called in for service as it stated in the app. Service was scheduled for November 12, 2025, and I was informed that no one needed to be onsite to service the unit. Service tech arrived on November 12, 2025, and according to the app, the "unexpected event" kept occurring. There was no communication from the service tech or the company stating what the next steps would be. I called the service line and was informed it would 24-48 hours in order for the service department to return my call. Again, this is a new unit that is failing. Why go with a company that specializes in generators if they cannot figure out what is wrong and cannot communicate. read more

Dennis at Grasten was out today and did a terrific job performing scheduled service. He was very receptive to me hovering and asking questions as he performed the service. He treated my generator as if it were his own as he checked, explained, and cleaned various parts as well as performed the loaded run test while making sure the load shedding modules functioned properly. I purchased the generator through Costco, and Grasten was the company they referred. I've only experienced one power outage so far, and the generator kicked in within seconds--it ran for about two minutes, but I was glad to see it worked exactly as it should. Grasten contacted me a year after installation to schedule the first maintenance. David, the technician, was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They honored the terms of the contract arranged through Costco, I wasn't charged for the first maintenance. I highly recommend them. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The employees are incompetent and unresponsive, making our entire experience with Grasten awful. It has been 20+ days since the first day of installation and we still don't have a working generator. Upon the first installation, the plumbing crew dug into our irrigation system (see pic) and it still has not been fixed. We then failed the inspection from the city of Houston. I contacted the Grasten office about my failed inspection and only then did they send out a crew to fix the errors - this was also after they got my house confused with another house and sent wrong information to me about my project multiple times. After "fixing", the electricians said that I would not pass the 2nd inspection as the generator was installed in a location that is not permissible; by a working window. The window is extremely large so I am not sure how the sales guy (Mark) who came out on day 1 to price the generator missed it and thought this location would be good, further showing this company's incompetence. It has now been 12 days of inaction, leaving us with a broken irrigation system and trenched yard that no one can walk through. We continually call Grasten and they say someone will come out but then they never do. Additionally they do not respond to any emails, so we have had to continually call them/hunt them down. I understand that things happen along the way during a project of this magnitude but the unresponsiveness, incompetence, and lack of urgency to fix my issues makes for a bad company. Stetson is my tech and he is the best. Got me back up and running. No bullshit up charges. He just fixes everything. Still under warranty so everything is covered for parts. You might think the maintenance yearly cost is high but not when you are out of power!!! Generacs are good products but they must be maintained. This is non-negotiable. read more

Horrible company. Several days ago suppose tobmaintence for which I had paid. Kid showed up supposedly to do. Had Moore services today. Gasten never checked oil which was low because gage out. Never changed air filter which they said they had. When emergency occurred two years ago --disappeared when gen failed. Employees hate them. read more

I purchased one Generator from Graston several years ago. I pay for the service contract every year in case there's a problem and they won't come out and address it. They do come started every few months... I have been very loyal to them no more this past weekend, my power was out all day Sunday. My generator never kicked on. It's not a natural gas item. Natural gas is working. I called on Monday. I got the oh well we'll put it on the schedule and we'll have somebody come and address it. Well then I was told that would be here on today which is Thursday then I get an email. Can't even bother a call. I just sent an email and says oh no we won't be there till Friday now I am going to try to find somebody else who I want. I'm sure I will have to pay that only service charge or whatever the repair fees are in addition to the $500 a year service fee that I pay I no longer I have referred so many people to them and I'm sure they don't make any money off of the ladies like me and their friends, but please take twice about employing these people that sell force of very good and they yell that installation of people are very, very good, but that was several years ago. This is our second generator purchased from Grasten Power Technologies, and I have to say they are incredibly fantastic! Thankfully, our generator ran flawlessly for 52 hours during our recent storm and power outage of May 2024 in the Cypress, Texas, area. Today, we had an unscheduled service call due to a parts failure. A terrific service technician, Mr. Sam Hanner, came and took care of the repair and stayed until after 8:30 p.m. until the repair was completed. Not only did he repair the Generac Generator (still under warranty), he made a special trip to the local automotive parts store to get some hose clamps to ensure that all the hose clamps were properly secured and cleaned the unit like new. I set an appointment 3 weeks in advance to ensure prompt arrival of technician at 9 am so I would not have to wait. The company is bold in that they require us to Pre Pay for the service when we schedule. On the day of the appointment I had not received confirm and when I called in to the office they said the technician would arrive in about one hour. This was just for a standard servicing of my generator. Promptness is a key indicator of integrity and quality performance. Unfortunately my first experience has been a failure. read more
