OK, I have used this company 3 times. I am very, very impressed every time. I have referred them 3 times. They actually RUN to get the job done even though they are getting paid by the hour! These guys were top-notch. Geoff, the owner, met with me weeks before our planned move. The professionalism he showed and concern for his customer made me confident moving forward. He went through the move in detail, and gave a reasonable quote. When things changed with our move, Geoff was super flexible, and again, wanted to make sure that our move went off without a hitch. On the day of the move, when he realized that his guys were going to be late to meet at one of our pickup sites, Geoff added a 4th guy to the crew at no additional charge to get us back on schedule. I helped my elderly aunt move a bunch of her furniture. Some was to be donated, and some was to be moved to my house. I'll admit, we were not good customers. Aunt has a ton of heavy stuff, our plans changed, and the guys had to make multiple stops. The scheduling was easy. I prefer to be contacted by email or text, which is how Geoff usually communicates. Good! I asked for an ETA of 9:00, he said his guys would be there at 9:00-9:30 and would call when they were en route. Also good! They were late. When 9:30 rolled around and I hadn't heard anything, I called Geoff, and he texted back. He apologized and said someone would be there soon, and told me to call if they hadn't arrived soon. A few minutes later, a truck showed up. At that point, things got AWESOME. Matt and RJ were friendly and pleasant, which is impressive given the inherently unpleasant work they do. They used their time surprisingly well; when one person was doing a one-person project (disassembling a daybed, unhooking the fridge, etc.), the other was moving things out of another room. They were amazingly quick and very accommodating. Other than being late, and the fact that neither seemed to have a good sense of direction and had to follow me, they were perfect. And seriously, if those are the worst of the day's flubs, I'll take them! I highly recommend these guys. We used GrassRoots just two days ago and I am very Happy with the work they did. They were thorough, efficient, and respectful of our property. They did not waste truck space and were careful to not damage walls or our furniture. The only hiccup we had was in the waiting for them to show up. Ok where do I even start??? I used these guys twice while I was in co. To start both times they got in touch w me with in minutes. The last time I write them for an inquiry at 1130pm they got in touch w me right away. Any company that cares, is serious, means and wants business is on point like this. I have moved many times over the years. I have always used a large moving company and been unhappy with all the damage to my stuff. I decided this time to use a local company, grassroots moving. They showed up right on time. The movers were very nice and professional. They moved out 3 story townhouse to a 2 story house. Needs less to say we had tons of stairs. They were quick and efficient. The best part of the move was that as we are unpacking I have not had 1 single damaged item. Not even little dings on my furniture! They were amazing! I highly recommend this company! We had an unfortunate circumstance that forced us to need movers within 24 hours notice, and within an hour or so on a SATURDAY night after requesting a quote via Yelp, the business owner responded right away and gave me a specific quote which is EXACTLY what we paid! He was even understanding that we preferred to have someone move our stuff sooner than they would have been available (6pm) and let us keep our appointment even if it meant we'd have to cancel last minute (free of charge). So thankful for this company and the two movers that got our stuff to our new place successfully with no items broken. Called at 8:30 at night. Set up an appointment for the next morning via text. Two movers. Schamar and Josh showed up early. They showed up early enough that we showed them what we needed and filled out some paperwork before the clock started ticking. They were polite, fast and hard working. We definitely felt they were worth the money! We had moved most of our stuff and had them take care of our heaviest, largest, most awkward items. Not a problem. They were careful and did not damage our possessions or the house we moved out of or into. The minimum 2 hour time frame was more than enough time for them to move our items. I had estimated it would have taken us and a couple friends all day. Well worth the very reasonable price. So much so that we made sure to tip them for the hard work. Had grassroots moving company come out to help with our move. The showed up early but called prior to make sure it was ok since we had a 1 PM appointment. 15 min later Alfonso and Juan showed up ready for work. They were extremely professional, productive and polite. I thought I had packed enough ahead but they were very quick loading and extremely excellent in their packing skills on out 2 pods. Use this company - excellent movers!!! We scheduled our move through GrassRoots Moving about a month prior to our move date, which was back on 8/1. The scheduling process was easy, and the owner was quick to respond to my inquiry. He laid out the cost and estimated what our move would be. Our move did end up being more expensive then quoted, but that was not because of an inaccurate quote. We had a lot of things and there were 2 flights of stairs for them to go down, so we knew it was going to take longer than originally planned. I wish I remembered the name of the 3 guys that moved us. They were absolutely stellar! They were so courteous. Everything was moved perfectly, no damage, nothing broken. Highly recommend these guys! I requested a quote Wednesday night and Geoff was quick to respond that evening, with availability Friday morning (which fell into my requested window). I appreciated the flat rate so there was no anxiety about how long it would take and what the final total would be - plus, it was extremely competitive (among the lowest I received). The team of 3 moved furniture from my home to my in-law's home, and then picked up furniture there, and brought it back to my home. So this was a multi-leg job. The team showed up (early!), wrapped the furniture in plastic wrap to protect it (and keep drawers and doors shut), and carried everything very skillfully - not so much as even touching a door frame. We didn't even come close to filling the truck since it was just a few pieces of furniture, but everything was secured tightly in the truck. The entire team of 3 was very professional, patient, and courteous. I will absolutely reach out to GrassRoots again in the future! read more

I have moved more times than I care to remember. Most of them were because of a military move, but not all. I have experienced great moves and terrible moves. These guys were AMAZEBALLS!! Which is the same thing I was texting to all my friends when they were loading my stuff. I only wish that I had been even more prepared when they moved me. They were early because they finished their previous job early, they were careful with my furniture and wrapped it, and pieces of furniture that took us forever to get in our house when we moved in ourselves were a piece of cake for these guys. Bottom line, if anyone doesn't give them at least 4-5 stars then I really wonder what kind of unrealistic, hard to please type of people they must be. Some people just can't be pleased no matter what, which I would suspect is the case for anyone who gave these guys a bad review. I move a lot so I will be hiring them again. I've hired them 4 times in a period of about two months, and my experiences are mixed, depending on what individual crews that Jeff sent in for us. First two times, we had very satisfied experiences with them to load and move our pre-packed boxes out of out house into PODS containers, we really appreciated Jeff sending in the great crew. But on the third time, they messed up with promised schedule time, and we had a very bad experience: on the day, the scheduled appointment time was supposed to be 4:30PM, for both us and the crew to meet at a container storage facility place where going there needs us to drive about an half hour from home. However, they called and pressed us to start the job at around 11:30AM, in spite of we telling them that we were unable to start until at the secluded time. And they called us repeatedly, making the situation unnecessarily stressful. After all, they agreed again to meet at 4:30PM. Guess what? They did not show up until 7:10PM when it was getting dark. It was a disaster on the Fourth Time. While I thought the third time experience was just due to their scheduling problem, I continued to book the Fourth time with Jeff of GrassRoots Moving to move our furnitures from our house into another PODS container placed on the curb side. with paying 4 people to come at 2:00PM. This time again, they come about 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time, but only 2 crew people, not 4 that Jeff has promised. Initially these two guys were doing OK with moving and loading our furnitures, and after receiving a call, they told me they soon needed to go for the next job, started roughing up with the moving the remaining furnitures, showing no regards to some of our upscale furnaces, dragging them all the way. When I tried telling them not to drag my furniture, one of the guys rudely rolled his eyeballs. They damaged furnitures, walls, and door frames inside the house. From my experiences, hiring GrassRoot Moving is a gambling for the results. Maybe hiring them agin for moving packed boxes, but definitely not to hire them agin for moving our fine furnitures. In hindsight, it is clear that, if you are to hire GrassRoot Moving, try to avoid scheduling your moving on a Sunday, because the good crew do not work on Sundays, as I was told by the good crew people that have come to move our stuff. read more

Moving is never fun but the two guys who helped me out yesterday took the stress out of it a bit. I'm four months pregnant, and already an emotional mess. They did the job in under two hours- were fast, courteous and saved me a serious bundle. I would recommend them to anyone and will use them again I am sure. I was going to rent a truck, a dolly and have a couple of friends help out pay them, but I know it would have taken longer, something would have gotten broke and I hate driving moving trucks.
