I want to share my HORRIBLY, DISRESPECTFUL CONVERSATION and EXPERIENCE with everyone and I hope you don't make the same mistake I did by trying to hire this company!Almost two weeks ago I scheduled two moving workers from this company for a total of three hours to start at 9am until 12pm to start on today's date. I received a text 10 minutes prior to start time from the owner of this business (he/she never provided their name and wouldn't provide their name after I asked two times for it). The owner informed me via text, not a phone call, a text message, that his associates will be an hour late (to arrive at 10am) due to STAFF CHANGES (remember this part, as you will see later in my review). I had my U-Haul all ready to go and I was just waiting on the workers. I informed the owner via text that it was unacceptable, and I wanted a discount due to their tardiness. The OWNER informed me he couldn't do that. I asked for his supervisor and asked for his name (I didn't know he was the owner at this point and he was being very unprofessional to text right before they were due to arrive). He stated "I won't tolerate your attitude, you can find another company, cancel using movinghelp.com". Then all of a sudden he says that his worker got in a car accident going to my house to do his job. All of a sudden he wants me to feel bad due to his unprofessional approach???? How disrespectful is this for an owner to make this kind of comment and to try and make me feel bad!!!! This is the kind of Owner you will be dealing with if you try to rent from this company. Realize there are so many other companies, don't make the same mistake that I did and try and save money! I booked Mojo's Moving for a 2-hour loading job, and I genuinely wish I hadn't. The experience was terrible. The movers arrived an hour late for the job despite having quoted a 5-10 minute ETA during two different phone calls made to their office regarding their absence. Upon arrival, they were eager to make up for the lost time and worked hard and fast to load everything quickly. They were unable to accomplish this goal because they said the truck was completely full. Surprised, I went with them to investigate, and discovered that it was indeed full. It was less organized than what would be expected. The extent of disorder was hidden by my king size mattress that had clearly been forced into the truck at the very end. Upon their departure I discovered that the truck was not actually full. Instead, it was loaded so poorly and haphazardly that it was necessary to unload and reload, nearly 2/3 of the items inside. Had I been able to move the big furniture without assistance, I would have unloaded and reloaded more than I was able to. After undoing and redoing all of their work that I could, I was ready to hit the road. It was an uneventful 3-hour drive on the interstate all the way to my new town. Upon arrival and unloading it became clear that I should have done whatever necessary, even delayed the start date of my new job, in order to unload and reload every single thing they had done. Why? Because my sofa has two holes in it, two clearly marked boxes of fragile items were placed underneath everything else and crushed during the journey, my king size bed and headboard were placed upside down, despite two large arrows being put on them and verbally advising them of the orientation necessary when they picked it up to load it. It is also damaged. After cooling off, I called and spoke to them about the experience that I had been provided and asked for a refund. The gentleman on the phone seemed understanding and empathetic and advised that he could refund me for half of the expense. I reluctantly agreed and decided that his willingness to accommodate and accept responsibility in the form of absorbing some of the cost was a respectable response. I provided the necessary info to secure the refund and we discussed the process via text message until I was informed that the owner had to be advised first per their policies and that the refund would be issued shortly. Since then, NOTHING. No contact, no refund, no nothing. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Save your money, your energy, your frustration, and your sanity. Choose any other movers, and if you are forced to choose Mojo's or throwing out all of your belongings and starting over, go with the latter option. Let me open this review with a bit of backstory. Four months ago we hired movers who, on the moving end, did a fantastic job on the move itself. They were quick and careful. When all was said and done, I found myself wondering why I'd ever done a self-move. The one downside, they were disrespectful towards my wife. So when it came time to move again (yes, we moved twice in four months) we went looking for a different company. Mojo's caught my eye for a number of reasons. They were quick to reply, even after hours. They offered a great rate. They pitch themselves as a family business in pursuit of their American Dream. They're also minority owned, and, as a matter of faith, I have a strong desire to support those who are politically and culturally marginalized. I continued to find myself impressed when they were able to accommodate a change in schedule on our end. So, why the low rating? While the team worked as if they were getting paid by the hour, I was willing to overlook that because of the great overall rate. Despite my wife and I repeatedly reminding one of the guys not to drag furniture on hardwood floors, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that he was new and just getting used to the job. It wasn't even that they damaged a very heavy vintage piece while putting it onto a dolly, after all, while things like that suck, they do happen. No, the low rating comes because, despite an initial recognition of fault and the hopeful sentiment that the blanket protected the piece from damage, when we reported it to the owner (Luis), the moving crew denied any responsibility and came up with all kinds of reasons why they didn't cause the damage. Then, rather than taking time to listen to both sides, Luis, initially sided with his team and wouldn't listen to my complaint. After I threatened to not pay, he changed his tune and agreed to handle the matter in a prompt and professional way. I went about my day and tried to wrap up the move as much as possible, but a few hours later, received an email from Luis accusing me of submitting a negative review I didn't write, accusations that it was physically impossible for his crew to have caused the damage, claims I had an inconsistent story on how the damage occurred, and suggestions that I was just trying to manipulate them into getting a payout for existing damage. Apparently, that's his understanding of prompt and professional. So, if you want to do business with someone who looks great on the surface but gets nasty as soon as they're expected to display some level of accountability, then these are your guys. If you want ethical and responsible movers of substance, then I suggest you keep looking. By the way, I have no doubt that Luis will comment on this review with more accusations. Personally, I think that's just more of him showing his true colors. I have no desire to respond because, as he closed that last email, "That puts an end to our business relationship." Best of luck in your move! Follow-up: I had no desire to respond but, as predicted, Luis' comment demonstrates that he never listened to us. Let's clear the air. The piece was on its side. It was not lifted straight up to put on the dolly but by one guy from the bottom putting all the weight on (when upright) the top left corner. Yes, it was pre-wrapped, with no damage to the wrapping. Immediately, based on how it was out on the dolly, my wife pointed out her concern and Luis' guy said it didn't look like it went through the blanket. When we arrived at our destination, there was a hole in the blanket and the damage to the piece fit the size and shape of the hole (Luis has seen the pictures). I shouldn't have reviewed these movers prior to seeing the condition of our things upon arrival in PA. We used U-Pack and had Mojo's load the truck for us. The crew asked if we would buy 2 lashing straps to secure some items, my husband went out and bought 5 just to be safe. They also placed 1/2 of the bulkhead toward the back of the truck instead of at the end of the load like it was supposed to be. When the driver dropped our trailer in PA he opened it and asked "who packed this?" thinking it was us. When I told him we hired movers he just shook his head and said that the load was not done professionally. We hired a crew to unload and they also asked "who packed this?" and said that there had been a lot of shifting and damage. Sure enough - so many things were ruined. Boxes were completely crushed, the side of our grill was totally sheared off (a Weber grill no less), glass items pulverized, pictures crushed. Our furniture was so carefully wrapped that the movers kept complimenting us on the job that we'd done but my West Elm couch has awful greasy streaks on the back. I'm leaving my original comments below but had to edit to account for the damage and chaos. This is the second time we have used Mojo's and I can't say enough to recommend them. These guys HUSTLE. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Mojos' was recommended to me by a couple family members so I thought they would be reliable and booked them to help me move. Moving day came and they were scheduled at 11am, I got an email that morning saying we were scheduled for 11:30am, then got a text saying they were running late and would be there at 12:15, which ok not a big deal, I understood. Then at 12:10pm I got another text saying that they had a flat tire on the highway and would get back with me for an updated ETA. I explained I had an appointment at 4pm so if they could let me know as soon as possible that would be great. Well, I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!! I left voicemails and text messages all the way up until 2:45pm and Mojos' did not even have the decency to let me know they weren't coming. They left me in a very bad bind because I had to be out of my apartment by the next day and trying to find movers in that short of notice was impossible! I had to go to my leasing office and beg for another day, which they gave me at a cost. So now I'm out unnecessary money plus had to pay a different mover more money than I intended to for a short notice move! I would NEVER recommend Mojos Moving! This move was very unexpected, but the 2 very hard working & respectful men that came to move for us were outstanding. They don't charge a bunch of extra fees for stairs or anything. Just flat rate hourly depending on # of men and truck size. We had 2 pick ups and 1 drop off and they did it all in 2 1/2 hours. Equipped w/ dollies, moving blankets, tools to aid in disassembly and straps for securing all belongings. The 2 gentlemen ( I didn't get their names) both are from out of state and just trying to make a honest living and they def. are doing so the right way. Humble men that really helped the family excuse quite a bit of stress and with the entire afternoon to spare! I will update w/ names when I get that info. We own a few properties and actually had them move two of them within 2 weeks. Luis is always very quick to respond and very professional. The guys were great, professional and hard workers. They wrapped everything either in shrink wrap or blankets & shrink-wrap, which takes up time but, your furniture won't get damaged in the truck. We did have a dent on our refrigerator (accidents can happen), but they took care of it pretty quickly and it looks brand new. Obviously, that didn't deter me from giving them an excellent rating. What a terrible experience with this Moving Company only because when the time and date was requested it got approved until days out so my wife and I were not sure if we had a moving company or not also getting back to us via message or even a phone call with them was so impossible. They would always say they were too busy for that so of course that kept us in limbo trying to see if we had a moving company or not mind you we booked with them a month in advance. This moving company is as pro as they come! I can't recommend them enough! I called Mojo's Moving Service at the last minute and after hours. I needed to move a single mom with three small children's entire home the next morning and on a Sunday to boot! We had several things go wrong at the last minute and weren't going to be able to load the moving container we had for the home move in time. I called several movers and no answer, or I was told they were booked or their rates for last minute booking seemed insanely high. I called Mojo's Moving on Saturday night, the night before the move and Luis got back to me right away and helped me figure out exactly how many movers would be needed to do the move in our time frame, what supplies would be needed and how long it would take to move the entire home into the container, the next day. Mojo's Moving saved us in so many ways! Luis and his movers were on time, did an excellent job of packing and moving everything without any damage! When I realized we wouldn't be able to clean the home by the deadline, I asked Luis if he could recommend a cleaning company. Well Luis has cleaners also and they came out the next day, the two cleaners jumped right on cleaning the home and busted it out in maybe 3 hours, the entire 3 bedroom home, top to bottom! I own a business and I can tell you how much work it takes to do things at a top level and have the kind of customer service that Mojo Moving Service has and to deliver the best service like these guys did and it isn't easy. In a word... fantastic! In two words: life savers. In an industry where customer service and communication can be spotty, Mojos was as good as it gets! From the very beginning, after I reached out for a quote, the communication was awesome. The owner responded to me with a quote, answers to my questions, and availability within 15 minutes. 15 minutes, you guys!! I was shocked. I did receive quotes and details from a handful of other movers, and selected Mojos based on their stellar communication, Yelp reviews, and super fair pricing. And I'm SO GLAD that I did. The day of my move, Mojos was scheduled to start at 11am. I arrived to get the keys to my new apartment, and the company GAVE US THE WRONG APARTMENT. The finishes and details were completely wrong (a glitch in their system, apparently) and they didn't have any other availability/way to fix the situation. Cue panic. I called Luis (the owner) to see if I could reschedule for the next day, giving me a little time to find a new place to live, knowing that a) this completely screwed up their schedule and money for that day, and b) that it was 98% likely that they were booked and I'd be stuck trying to find another mover along with a new apartment. To my surprise, Luis was so understanding. He said "We want you to have the apartment you deserve, and be happy where you live. Don't worry about it. We will make it work!" He asked that I let him know the new address as soon as I found something, and while he was booked, he'd get a team together and make my move happen for me. THANK HEAVENS! I was able to find a new (better!) place to live, and the next day, the Mojos team that came and moved me was friendly, professional, quick, and fun. I've had movers in the past, and was a bit nervous, but these guys exceeded my expectations. They moved my 1-BR from a 10'x10' storage unit on the 4th floor (with an elevator) to the 7th floor of my apartment building (also with an elevator) in 2.5 hours. They earned that tip! (Please tip your movers, guys... they work so hard!). I also loved that once they finished, Luis texted me saying he'd emailed the invoice that I was able to pay right from my phone in two minutes flat. So efficient! I can't say enough positive things about Luis and the Mojos team. HIRE THEM!! You will be so happy you did! Mojos moving services was a total disappointment. While the price was good ($240 for 2 hours including the truck) the day of was a disaster (8/1). The owner Luis was unresponsive to emails, phone calls and texts. The night before I received a text that my move was rescheduled two hours later. That was frustrating, but manageable because I had enough notice. However, at exactly 2:00pm when the movers were supposed to show up, I got an automated text message that it was moved another 2.5 hours later. They didn't show up until 5:00pm- even later than the text message indicated. It was absolutely infuriating and super unprofessional. My move that was supposed to be done by 2:00pm was not done until 7:00pm. While the movers themselves were great, they shared that my move was pushed back 3 different times for no reason. Luis sucks and was super unprofessional. I would never use them again given the unnecessary stress created by lack of communication and constantly being pushed back. These guys were great. I was a little concerned because there were't that many reviews and they had a couple of negative reviews. The pricing also seemed a little too good to be true. I was scheduled for 9 AM start, they were a bit late but texted me to let me know. I didn't mind the delay, but definitely appreciated the communication. I had 5 containers (Zippy Shell - like PODS) that needed to be off-loaded, and only 3 movers. Again, very concerning because I hired 5 movers to load them containers and it seemed to take forever! None the less, the 3 guys from Mojos crushed it. They estimated 6 hours but got the job done in about 4 hours. The only time they stopped was when I insisted they take a break. They were careful with our belongings and asked where every box needed to go. They cut no corners. I was very impressed. This was my 6th out of State move, so I have plenty of experience with moving companies. Mojos was one of the better moving experiences I have had. read more

I don't write many reviews but I was extremely disappointed in this moving service. My appointment was scheduled for 12, around 12:20 I called just to make sure they hadn't forgot about the appointment, I was told they were finishing up a job and they would be over in 30-40 mins. I was totally fine with that. 3 hours later the two men showed up, 3 hours. No call or anything to let me know. I had a one bedroom apartment, about 10-15 boxes, a couch, coffee table, tv stand, bed, dresser. I do not own a lot and it took them 3.5 hours. After they were done packing up my old place they said they were hungry and needed to go get food then would head over to my new place. This was also included in my final bill amount. One guy was very respectful but the other complained the entire time and kept saying how tired and burnt out he was. I would not recommend this moving company. Wish I would've paid a little more for a company that was more considerate of my time and money. read more

They were scheduled to come at noon , ten after I contacted them to see if they were still coming, they said in ten minutes.. They ended up going to the drop off address instead of mine. By the time they got to my house it was 12:45. The movers were nice enough themselves but by the time they were unloading they seemed to be tired and dented my wall in a couple places. There was something left outside. My stand up fan wAs lost and when I contacted them they weren't sure, I bought one a few days later and asked if they found mine or could reimburse me and I never got a response. My roomate used them also a few days later and they cracked her dresser and after they left we realized they broke the leg on her new couch. They also accidentally took her keys and she had to wait over an hour to get them back. read more

Movers showed up 10 minutes late (they did call and let me know they were running behind). One of the movers set a 70# safe down on a piece of solid wood furniture (in the garage out of the way) to reposition his hold and in doing so damaged the wood furniture as the safe is solid metal. One of the managers informed us that the furniture would be repaired as good as they could repair. Mind you, no guarantee that they repair the wood furniture to 100%. The 2 guys that showed up were friendly, but I do t feel they were professional. I do not recommend these guys as we're now out of pocket $200 to $500 to have the furniture repaired professionally!!!. AFTER POSTING THIS REVIEW, I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING TEXT FROM MOJO MOVERS - "DUE TO YOUR REVIEW AND ACTIONS TO SEND A COMPLAINT TO OUR 3RD PARTY PROVIDER EVEN AFTER WE HAVE ATTEMPTED ("REALLY???") TO HELP AND RESOLVE THE ISSE, WE WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERING RESOLUTION FOR YOUR CLAIM". To summarize, a Mojo employee damaged a piece of our equipment by setting a heavy safe down on it to reposition his hands, and now Mojo's refuses to repair the furniture after I talked with the repair man and asked him to come out. I would have gladly removed the poor rating had they made good on the damage they caused. read more

I had a very poor experience with his company. It took them 6 hours to move my two bedroom townhome. In this time they damaged 5 of my wood furniture items and one glass table. They did not let me know that they had damaged anything, but I instead found it myself when I later moved furniture items. For example, they had arranged the furniture so that I would not see the damage until a chair was moved away from a dining table or crib moved away from the wall. I found this to be completely dishonest. I found some of the damage prior to the movers having left that day and when brought to their attention received nothing but a simple, 'I'm sorry'. 4 days later I notified the company again about the damage by emailing them and received no response. I called them 2 days after that. I then received an email with an attachment asking that I complete the attached waver to request a refund for the damaged items. I completed the form and in doing so let them know that 2 of the Items damaged were only a month old. Another 2 weeks went buy and I received no response. I followed up via email and receive a response a day later stating I would not receive any reimbursement for any of the damage because 'I had not submitted the claim form withtin 48 hours of the day of service'. I responded asking how that was possible given that I had brought the damage to the attention of the movers that day, then not received the claim form until a week later. I then was engaged in a back and forth email exchange with Luis 2 more times, the last email of which he just never responded to. I am now left with a beautiful new home full of damaged new furniture. I hate writing bad reviews and do not normally do so but this experience was so horrid that I had to let other know to beware. read more

I hired Mojo's to move my children and I last month. They showed up 4 hours late, with no notice after I had to call two times to check where they were, and when they will be coming. Being that I let the owner Luis talk me into using their truck and moving equipment (which he overcharged what he quoted me, said I would get refunded the difference, but of course never was), I was out of luck with no truck to move anything when I had additional help, at 2pm, when I hired them to be there, not a 6pm when they finally showed up. Once there the guys were nice and all, yet they used my own blankets to move items, my own plastic wrap (instead of theirs I was advised by Luis they would provide), literally rolled my 5x2' dresser down my hall like a tire, damaged 2 furniture items, and the stair railing, they removed my front door to remove furniture that we did not have to do that to move in, then didn't screw it back incorrectly. Very sloppy work. When I contacted Luis about all of this, my main concern was my stair railing damage due to I was in a rental and would be charged to fix the damage his movers caused. His resolution after giving me a ton of excuses including his movers never told him of any damage, (shocker, right?!) was that he could get someone over to fix it, I had to be out by that Friday, there was no time for that, so I asked to be compensated, to offset what I will be charged by my management company to repair. He made more and more excuses as to why he couldn't do that, but then asked me to email him a pic of the damage and he would get 'back with me'. Guess what? Even after a follow-up email, I was ignored. His constant excuses as to why he couldn't just compensate me lead me to believe his concern is more of another insurance claim which equals to higher rates for his, and his company's negligence. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They are unprofessional. incompetent and do not provide any quality service. I can go on about more things that went wrong, and the excuses Luis gave me for every concern and complaint I had, which only led me to believe he gets these types of complaints often. I'd give a negative 5, if I could. *Luis responded to my review on Google, saying I was lying when I have proof of my emails sent, told him our conversation was being recorded as well via a phone app. I have proof he never once called me to let me know how late his guys would be only me calling them on my call log. Luis did everything that you expect from a move and more. Unloaded the truck, carefully not damaging any of the furniture or any of the house and even helped us put one piece together.
