Enjoyed the food and had a great time with a couple of friends from out of town. They had a couple of drink specials that we took advantage of and the cocktails were really reasonable. Dinner was great. Everyone's food was cooked as expected. Friend has a food allergy and they were very conscientious of that. Also, we had their 3 year old with us and the waitress was very kind to him and brought crayons, brought his food early, and really just did a great job of being aware of our needs for the night. We ended the night with a dessert from a local bakery that was on point. Overall: good quantity of food and great taste. Drinks were consistent through out the night and with an appetizer and dinner we all took home left overs. It was super filling but ended up being great the next day as well. Will return again. read more

Making a reservation was super easy. Great service! Delicious food! Must try the Colazione pizza, it is perfection. read more

Grappa - Italian Near Me - Rochester, New York

Cant say enough about Tom and CJ at the bar. During some of the hardest days they made life just a little bit better. Excellent customer service and great drink makers! We've already been back once and we'll be back again! The Hibiscus Rose Spritzer was exactly what I needed tonight and they knew it! read more

Very enjoyable dinner tonight. Jolene our waitress was awesome. Had gluten free pizza, gluten free beers, regular pizza and linguine. Such a great meal. We will be back again while staying here in Rochester at the Hilton. read more

My first experience and potentially last experience at Grappa was in a group setting with 10+ people in the private room. We were able to be seated pretty quickly and they brought drinks out pretty fast. The horror story began when we ordered our food. We were seated at 6:30pm, order around 6:45pm and didn't get our food until about 8:35pm. At that time, the food was good but the wait time didn't mix well the feelings of the group. You could tell for the things like crustini that aren't suppose to be served rock hard were because of the long wait. Understand that this isn't a place you want to take a large group to. They want to bring out all the food together and limit what you can order. Smaller groups ideal. read more

Excellent atmosphere Bartender knows his stuff and has the Italian recipes! Good Italian food Great location and friendly service read more

Loved this place! Very nice and accommodating hostess. Excellent waitress. Very good wine selection. The pasta was delicious. One of our party ordered the special which was baked chicken and it was fantastic. Best restaurant in Rochester bases on service alone. read more

Not the best just the Caesar salad alone had a weird taste to it also not the greatest selection of music playing...

I've been to Grappa a few times, twice for lunch and twice for Happy Hour. The Happy Hour on the patio on a nice day is great. Their service is pretty spotty. Every time I've been for Happy Hour it's not totally clear if we have a server or not. For lunch, slow, slow, slow. Like walked out before ordering slow after realizing we'd been there 20 minutes and hadn't received our drinks or ordered our food yet. Food is fine. read more

I've been to grappa a handful of times since they opened. My last visit was my most pleasant. I've always enjoyed the food and wine but I recently went in for their happy hour and was really pleasantly surprised. I had a pizza and greens and beans and a couple glasses of Malbec. I was really taken back by the quality of the food given it was so cheap on happy hour. The bartender, a very polite and attentive girl, made sure I had everything I needed without being overbearing. Thanks grappa, I had a really nice afternoon. :-) read more

The portion size of the thanksgiving meal was far too small. For 4 people. At most it's only for 2 people.

We went for lunch to celebrate a birthday. First of all the food was very expensive for what we got. Around $15 for a burger and $17 for salads with a protein on them. The coffee was cold the calamari was really strangely cooked and I would say the food was mediocre. The service was good the waitress was attentive and very accommodating to any special requests. Would I go back there for lunch. No. read more

Was in town to see my family and visit for Meliora weekend. We stopped in for a bite and absolutely loved every minute of our dining experience the atmosphere, the food, the cocktails everything was absolutely phenomenal. Not to mention we had probably the one of the best servers ever. He stayed attentive and engaging throughout the meal.Thank you Shakur we all decided we are definitely coming back !!! read more

For starters, finding the entrance to this place is kind of confusing. I came on a Saturday night. It was busy but it wasn't too bad. The server was very nice and friendly. For an appetizer I had the house Caesar salad which had Capers on it. Wasn't too happy with the capers, but I was able to take them off of the salad. For dinner I had the chicken parm. I must say they gave me a nice amount of food. It was very delicious and very flavorful. I definitely had leftovers. I wasn't able to get dessert because my diet did not allow me! Overall it was really good and I will be coming back. read more

Had the pleasure of dining at Grappa this past Wednesday and was VERY impressed! Nice atmosphere and terrific service set the scene from the start and Chef Ryan's creative dishes got better as the meal went on...from appetizer to entree to dessert...topped off with the biggest and most delicious apple crisp crostata I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this to anyone and will definitely be back!!! read more

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and wanted to try Grappa which happens to be the restaurant joined to the hotel. Well the Grappa was good and potent the bartender serving not so much! I asked her about the wines she turned my menu around abruptly. Shouldn't you explain the grappas on the menu if this is the theme of your restaurant. But no I force it out of the bartender. In addition, to not being helpful she served the other two patrons sitting next to me and won't say a word to me after she gave me my wine and grappa. I wanted to order a mac and cheese but unfortunately didn't since she never asked me what I wanted. I really wanted to like this establishment but the rude bartender definitely made me give them a thumbs down on service. I will tell my friends about my service or lack there of. read more

Very nice restaurant. Not what you would think of for a restaurant attached to a hotel. Went on a weekday night and had a good cocktails and dinner. Sat at the bar with a date and we ordered a couple of their cocktails that were on their menu. They presentation was classy and the drinks were consistent. I hate going to bars where you order your first drink and the second tastes completely different. They served the drinks with the large ice cubes which I like and we were able to sip on them and enjoy conversation. The bar wasn't noisy like some places where some bars, even when not packed, the sounds echo and its hard to hear. The food was very good. My date had the beet salad and added salmon. I had the orecchiette pasta and was pleased with taste and the serving. We sat for a while and service was good. They allowed us to talk and didn't check in on us every couple minutes but were there to refill drinks when they got low. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Would go again. read more

I love this place! The food is always delicious, service is great and usually no wait time. I've been here for lunch, dinner and happy hour and never leave disappointed! Pizzas are delicious as well as the Caesar salad with calamari! read more

Went here for Valentine's Day 2018 with my hubs and it was amazing! The service was wonderful her name was Darien, it was a busy time but she still made sure our drinks were filled and we were enjoying ourselves. The manager was walking around making sure everyone was happy, which I loved to see. The employees really worked together as a team (working previously in a restaurant I see these things) as for the food, portions were great for the price! I believe we spent about 80$ on a steak dinner, pasta dinner, 2 beers and wine which I thought was very very reasonable, we went home with leftovers. They provide bread and oil and even a cannoli for the special occasion. Overall I was so pleased with the experience, and will be there again. Hubs got the 12oz prime rib and I got the carbonara, both were phenomenal. read more

There are some places that I don't bother to write a review. But this place... oh man... I have to leave a one-star here, and this is purely based on the quality of the food. read more

Very disappointing. We came for happy hour and planned to stay for dinner too. We ordered drinks and apps at the bar and asked how it works to move to a table to eat dinner. The bartender acts irritated and told us well you go get back in line with the hostesses to get a table but suggested we sit at a table in lobby if we wanted to sit at a table in the meanwhile. We moved to a table in the lobby area with our happy hour drinks and apps. We are told by another girl upon asking that there is actually no service in this area and that you have to go to bar to order food or apps only 10 min later to see a server come to the table next to us and ask if they want anything else. I've actually never left a negative yelp review but this experience was a bummer. read more

Heard very good things. A bit of a disappointment. Very nice diverse menu. Weak wine list. Server was very pleasant and attentive but not a real well trained professional server. Food was a 4+ stars. Service was 3.5 stars (good but not great) ambiance is so so. Kind of like a chain atmosphere - felt like I could be sitting in any middle sized city in the US. Some very good gluten free options - better than most places. read more

Food was excellent, atmosphere very very noisy, did I say noisy. We were not rushed, server was very polite and not intrusive, drinks were nice size, prices were fine. Don't go if you are looking for a place to have conversation or a quiet intimate evening. Otherwise a good place! read more

Delicious! Beautiful presentation of the food and large variety including various dietary options.

4.5 stars! I loved the fettuccine carbonara, oso bucco, cocktails, gnocci and heavenly tiramisu. I knock off half a star because we walked jn and asked for a table and they said it was a 45 minute wait and there were EMPTY tables. The plus is that you can grab cocktails as you wait and enjoy them in the lobby. You could even order food if you were so inclined. Great vodka tonics too. read more

Quick update: this is one of the favorite dining places in Rochester. I had Grilled Eggplant Involtino, and loved it. I definitely recommend it. Although I expected more quantity when I ordered, the dish was appetizing and flavorful, and I'd definitely order it again if I go there again. I also ordered Arancini which I didn't like quite as much as Grilled Eggplant Involtino, but that could probably be because I don't enjoy tomato ragù as much (which is of course my fault, because the menu clearly mentioned the ingredient). read more

Went here with my department. The atmosphere was beautiful and comfortable. I'm not sure if the food was worth the price since I didn't have to pay. I ordered the Bolognese and was not impressed. However, the amaretto cheesecake was great. And everyone else's food looked great lol. I think I just ordered the wrong thing. read more

Thumbs down. I never write bad reviews but this place deserves it. We ordered three salads and some wine. The wine was over priced and a super weak pour. The food was bland and small portions. When our salads came out they had two of the five ingredients that the menu listed and they were tiny for the $15-$17 price tag. I'm not sure if the staff is uneducated or trying to rip customers off but either way would not recommend this place. Not impressed. read more

Awful, service is slow and inexperienced. Food awful drinks are awful atmosphere loud uncomfortable tables are cheep. We had so many issues from no silverware to undercooked food 4 out of six of my clams not opened. Scallops seemed undercooked veal parmesan dry burnt tasted like a hungry man frozen dinner. Desserts were tasteless wine over priced. And to top off my night I threw up when I got home. Would never go back for anything not even a drink. One star for the beet salad it was good. Place is just awful. Loud sterile environment decor. It's just awful. read more

Grappa - Apple crisp ran off the plate all over the table. - Italian Near Me - Rochester, New York

this place has the best french fries I've ever had! I also had the baked gnocci. That was amazing. I was afraid it was going to be hard but it wasn't. It's a ricotta gnocci instead of potato and it was divine. HIGHLY SUGGEST! read more

Soooo my friends and I were very excited to try Grappa! Unfortunately it was sub par. It was lunch hour and there was not a bartender on, we waited awkwardly at the bar after being told we may sit there before we found out there wasn't one on. After we ordered food we were informed as it came out that they were out of some things with no compensation. Our checks were all wrong, and I found it quite absurd that we were charged to taste a wine by the glass! Also, a restaurant of that stature should have proper to go containers. Soup was sent home in coffee cups. Won't be returning for awhile. Seems consistent with new places in Rochester. read more

Awesome happy hour, nice service, and quality food. Check this place out and get the beet salad and all their apps.

Customer service gets 5 stars as I was contacted by the manager about my experience. I will give grappa another chance after this. I look forward to a better experience as I have heard from many that it is really delicious. read more

I was reasonably unimpressed. Went to Grappa for happy hour - which I thought went 4-7 but ended at 6 - and we arrived at 6:04! We sat at the bar and waited a while for very mediocre service. Our bartender wasn't friendly or efficient. Both of our drinks (a whopping $11 each) were also very mediocre. After checking out the pricey menu, we decided to grab a bite at the nearby Beer Market instead. Although we enjoyed the ambiance, I don't think we'll be back (unless we remember to go to happy hour on time). read more

Wanted to like this place, I'd heard good things. We went on the Sunday before Christmas, we had a party of 6 and didn't need a reservation which was nice. Atmosphere is great, and the service was good, although maybe a little rushed. The food was the issue, no one in our party was happy with what we got. I got the salmon entree, it was good and well cooked but $23 for a piece of farm raised salmon with a little farro? I would have loved to see a piece of wild caught salmon for a supposedly upscale restaurant. Also the tomato served with the entree was cold like it had been refrigerated which was really odd when the rest of the dish was hot. Everyone else though their dishes were very blah, the bolognese was not seasoned well and the meat was not moist, the carbonara was dry, the pizza had good mushrooms but the crust was really weird, not really even like a pizza, certainly not comparable to Fiorella or Rocco. I did enjoy the sauteed calamari dish, it had good flavor and good spice although it could have been cooked at a higher heat to give it a bit of crisp/burn marks. Overall I was hoping to like this place, it's convenient, parking is easy, it has a good atmosphere. Food definitely needs work to be anywhere on par with any other good restaurants in Rochester. For now, it's a mediocre hotel restaurant. read more

I've been here a couple of times for happy hour and it's hit or miss. Overall the service is poor and some of the staff is pretty rude. They should work on training across the board. P.S. to the bartender who had sweat dripping down his face- wipe that off! No one wants salty sweat dripping into their drinks. read more

Great service. Classy atmosphere! Could go here for any occasion. Relaxing environment

Salads and steak were really good but service was terribly slow and and we were there on a Monday! The drinks we ordered at the beginning of the night didn't come until we finished our dinner. Also, prices are a little bit too high. read more

Slow service, food was not tasty, very sloppy and poorly presented dessert, will not eat here again.
