Grapevine Escape has by far been my favorite overall company in the DFW area (out of the 5 I've tried). They are a small family owned company, and if you ever get the chance to talk to Russell and Amber (owners and sometimes moderators), they are the sweetest and most passionate moderators you'll ever talk to. All 3 of their rooms are very well planned out and perfectly maintained, and they all vary so much from each other that it does not feel remotely repetitive trying out all 3. My favorite room was the Wine Vault because of the vast number of puzzles that were challenging but still easily doable. It also had a great flow to the puzzles that didn't leave you stranded and wondering what to do next. Just note that this room probably would be very difficult to complete in time with less than 3 people solely due to the number of puzzles. But with a group of 4 we were able to get out just in time. We decided to go try an escape room with our teenage boys, 18 & 16. It's hard to find something that both of them want to do with us, the parents. We signed up for the lab escape at Grapevine Escape and it was amazing from the moment we stepped foot in the place. We did the "Going to the chapel" room since it is cutting edge and one if the couples was getting married in December. It was challenging but never felt impossible to finish. The fam and I went to Grapevine Escape this past Sunday and experienced the Chapel room. First things first, the couple running the joint is super friendly, informative, and are exactly the type of folks that make Main Street Grapevine small businesses so wonderful and unique. Secondly, now on to the Escape Room itself! The Chapel. Less an "escape" room, and more a solve-the-problem room. I won't give too much away, because I don't want to spoil anything for visitors! Truth be told I thought the puzzles, clues, solution-ing was a lot harder than I expected. But in a good way! It was definitely challenging. Which, I'm thankful for. You want to be challenged and not have a walk in the park experience when you're paying for it. So bravo for the owner's creative minds. I kept thinking, "How did they THINK of this?!" The challenge of the room also made it extra rewarding when you solved something. And if you get stuck - you'll get a friendly hint on the big screen. Not hand-holding... but curiously helpful. I'm looking forward to trying out their other 2 rooms. The Winery seems very "Grapevine-y" to me, so I'm especially looking forward to that experience. If you're looking for something outside-of-the-box to do, I highly recommend this place. And as a (though it often pains me to say) "millennial" which are the self -proclaimed "experience generation" it's an obvious choice to try out on a night where you're looking for something exciting to do besides squatting at the bar ;) read more

They also have two sweet puppies that roam around and greet you. If you really want to have fun you also get to partake in some wine during your escape attempt. The Grapevine Escape now has a brick and mortar - and I couldn't be happier. As far as escape rooms go - these folks and their puzzles are awesome. Their first room (we attended in their very first week of opening- there will be two more rooms opening) is very well done. It is challenging and motivating - something that is difficult to balance. There is great combination of physical puzzles plus interaction with screen technology (since this is a gen 3 puzzle room.) You can bring the whole family - there are tasks that you can set a younger person to. The folks who run this are personable, friendly and if you are new to Escape Rooms - they take the time to explain the concepts and what to expect. You won't feel intimidated! Oh and if you can't come to them - they will come to you. I first experienced The Grapevine Escape because they do Escape Excursions. Basically they bring the puzzles to you. Great for birthday parties or team building or really just an entertaining evening. Location is awesome - North Main Street Grapevine is easy to get to, they have lots of parking and it is in walking distance to the shops, restaurants and wineries of Grapevine! read more

This place ROCKS! I have done a number of rooms and this one rises above them all. The masterminds behind the rooms are simply outstanding. A group of 6 from ages 14 to 53 worked the FocusTec Labs room. Shawn, our game master, did a phenomenal job at guiding us through. He helped to keep us on task without overusing the hints. The IT aspect of their rooms are top notch. I STRONGLY RECOMMENEND everyone go play their game! They are a fun group and design and build all their own unique story lines and puzzles. The room we tried was really well designed, not too easy or too difficult. Our game master was wonderful, keeping us on track but not making it too easy either. I was impressed by the number of individual puzzles, easily keeping my group of six busy for the full hour.
