The definition of Mom And Pop, in all the best ways! Russell and Amber run the whole show: they personally designed and built each room, and they serve as game masters once you enter the room. They are two of the most friendly and sociable hosts you will ever meet and do a fantastic job of creating a fun and authentic atmosphere. The escape room itself (we chose to do the Wine Cellar) was the best I've ever experienced (out of the six or seven I've done over the years). The clues were all logical and accessible, but creative. Some of the things we had to do to escape the room I have never seen before in my escape room career. It was also family-friendly (as are all the rooms at Grapevine Escape). Our party had a mix of adults and younger children, and everybody felt involved and had a blast. I wont call myself an escape room expert although I had escaped a few but I have never had as much fun doing it as here at The Grapevine Escape! The staff is wonderful, especially Cami and very accommodating to all no matter their level of expertise. The Lab escape room is challenging enough that we needed (desperately) some helpful hints and our room master (Awesome Cami) was able to keep us guessing but headed in the right direction and once we figured it out high fives and cheers were shared by all. It was a 'team building' activity for our company and we may have walked into the room as co-workers but we came out as great fiends! I have been to multiple Escape Rooms and this place had the best room thus far! We did a room called "The Chapel" that was incredibly interactive, challenging, and fun! The room was not too hard to where it was unsolvable but it was challenging enough to need multiple clues (ok we needed more than a little help lol). My husband and I did this room for our two month wedding anniversary, and we plan to share this room with every couple we know! The game host working was extremely polite, helpful, and an expert at giving clues! Jacob was an absolute pleasure to work with! He has already sold us on booking our next room escape here! The Grapevine Escape is, by far, the best escape room experience in DFW. The Grapevine Escape is a local, family run business owned by Russell and Amber. Their passion and enthusiasm for escape rooms is evident and definitely adds to your experience! We decided to give them a try about 45 minutes before their last booking at 9pm, so I called to make sure there were still openings. Russell could have easily turned us away since there were only two of us and it was the last booking of the night, but he was ecstatic that we were first time customers and was happy to stay and run the room for us. We have played all three rooms here and loved them all! The rooms are all equipped with a TV monitor that is used for in-game video cut scenes and to relay the clues. The rooms have a mixture of old-school combination locks, key-based locks, number keypads, and codes entered on a computer. We had Russell as a game master twice and a younger guy the other time. Each time, we were given solid clues without outright being told what to do. They clearly payed close attention to us the whole time because if we got stuck on a puzzle but were on the right track, they would subtly nudge us in the right direction. Here's a my quick breakdown of the three rooms. 1. FocusTec Labs (2 people): This was our first room here and ended up being the toughest of the three. Everything is contained within one room. The puzzles in FocusTec are challenging but doable with only 2 people if you move quickly enough. No spoilers, when you think you're done, you're in for a surprise! We finished with a minute or two to spare. 2. The Wine Vault (4 people): This was the only time we didn't have the room to ourselves, but was our favorite of the three rooms because of the theme and progression of the puzzles. I would recommend at least four people for this room because of the sheer amount of puzzles you have to complete. There are three areas in this game: your starting room which is separated in the middle by a metal gate, and a small door leading to an office. We escaped with around 3 minutes left. 3. Going to the Chapel (2 people): This room is definitely the most unique escape room we've ever done. Rather than trying to "escape", you have to find clues throughout the chapel to remind the angry bride and groom why they should get married. There are individual TV screens with different members of the wedding party that you interact with via a computer in the back. You type in words/phrases you find throughout the room into the computer and get video responses on the monitors. This one doesn't have a lock-step sequence like the others so you can find the clues in pretty much any order. We finished with a minute left. TL;DR: Awesome family owned escape rooms. Highly involved game masters and well maintained rooms made for an excellent experience. My only wish is they had more than three rooms. Thanks again for a great time. This is the best escape room our family has ever visited. The games are well thought out and challenging, but not overly frustrating. Our kids ages 9 and 14 always have fun there. We have done four rooms they have produced and all were high quality and fun. The staff and game masters are always excellent as well. I came in during the testing stage and I loved it. It's a "third gen" escape room with answers that you type in to a computer and the outcome of the wedding depends on what you type. There are 5 screens with the characters (bride, groom, etc.) that react when you type the correct (or incorrect) answers in. Overall, a super fun friend and it family experience. read more

What a fun place! I would highly recommend checking this place out! We went there for a team building activity amongst coworkers and we had so much fun!
