Super fun!! The family and I often visit escape rooms. This one does have a time limit, like most escape rooms, but unlimited hints if you need them. The puzzle was challenging. Most escape rooms don't really allow for pictures. This did. However, for the integrity of the game, I did not take any pictures that would give away the puzzle. ‍. We did the gold rush escape. The Escape Game has about 5 different escape rooms. I went with a group of co-workers so we split into two rooms. We did Prison Break and Only Murders In The Building. These rooms are not the easiest to get through. You get one hour to break out and although we came close we could not figure out all of the clues before our time was up. This is great for team collaboration/team building. The team comes together to solve the clues to unlock the padlocks, door and windows. Without each other you won't get far. The best part is everyone had a lot of fun! The staff was really helpful and patient with our large group. You have the opportunity to buzz in for clues if you get stuck. We did this twice and the staff responded quickly with a helpful clue to propel us forward. read more

My husband and I do a lot of escape rooms, and we were excited to try the The Heist at The Escape Game Grapevine. This room was very fun, and cleverly laid out. However, there are a few things that need improvement. - Some of the puzzles and locks need replaced/updated. A jigsaw puzzle in this room was so worn that it was hard to tell if pieces fit together. A blacklight puzzle was incredibly hard to see because the writing needed to be redone. And several of the locks were sticking due to age. - Our room ended up being a "shared" experience, and we were warned that this "could" happen. The other couple was friendly and smart, but we would have paid $20-$25 more a person to keep strangers out. - We did not hear from our GameMaster until about 35 minutes in. I thought that was strange. Even if we did not ask for hints a few "You are doing great!" or "Good eye!" would have been appreciated. We have done a lot of escape rooms and most of the GameMasters we have had were more interactive. But it is a nice escape room with a good variety to choose from in a great location! read more

SO MUCH FUN! The staff was welcoming and personable. Everything was very high energy. We did Gold Rush and had so much fun that we did The Heist immediately after. We escaped both with only seconds to go! Super impressed with the rooms and the thoughtful placement of clues and items. Great activity for teams or couples. I can't recommend it enough. It has been awhile since my last visit to Escape Game Grapevine. My husband and I had done all 4 games here with friends prior by 2018 based on my previous review. Our kids hadn't gotten into Escape Games at that point, but my youngest kid has finally gotten into them. so we brought him to do playground here at the Grapevine location. Even though 2 of us had done playground before, it had been 5 years so we had forgotten a lot of clues; plus a number of things had changed. Which says a lot about the re-play-ablity of these rooms Check in was awesome, Sage was super nice & had an awesome conversation with our kiddo about pokemon while we signed in for the waver forms. Alex with the green hair helped us while we did the room and was outstanding! Great hints given we had a smaller group in a room made for a bigger group. So major shout outs to Sage & Alex with the green hair! If you do play ground try to have a group of 4+ if possible but we were surprised, and Surprised Alex, we pulled it off with seconds left on the clock! We for sure plan to come back again so that my youngest can try Heist or Gold Rush! read more

We brought our youngest to Escape Game to do the Playground room! Sage was awesome at check in, they had an awesome conversation with our kiddo about pokemon while we signed in for the waver forms. Alex with the green hair helped us while we did the room and was outstanding! We will for sure come back for our kiddo to be able to do more of the rooms. I had done these rooms years ago, pre-covid, and there was some changes to the room between the time we had done it years ago and doing it now. We had forgotten a few of the things so it was nice to get to see the changes and play them again! For sure Escape Game, be it the grapevine location or other locations we've been too, are some of the best rooms we've done! read more

The experience was not private as I have hoped but the people we played with were really nice and the game was extremely fun and just enough difficulty. We had a ton of fun at The Escape Game inside Grapevine Mills Mall. "The Playground" was very fun and enjoyable. We were combined with another group, and it was very fun to work together and divide and conquer. Our game keeper, Nick, was excellent. The hints were very well written and well paced. The only struggle was one person in our group is colorblind, and this game depended on colors. But he was able to still enjoy it. read more

If I could give it zero I would. Booked a room to start at 8:20am was here at 8am as instructed. Still sitting here outside the store at 8:50am with one of the employees waiting for a manager to let us in. Very unprofessional and very disappointed in The Escape Game Grapevine. Update: it's not always the mistake but how you make up for it. The team was very apologetic and made the over hour wait worth our time. These rooms are great for the most part. They are well put together, game masters are helpful, puzzles are on theme and unique. Variety of room themes is peak. The only real con here is that the rooms are not private, so you run the risk of being placed w strangers unless you book a fully available room very close to the start time. The booking site does indicate how many people have booked the room/time which is helpful for trying to avoid strangers in your experience, however it makes availability way more limited. That being said, if planned strategically a private room is obtainable - I've been able to plan accordingly and have not been placed w strangers in any of the 6 rooms I've completed here. read more

Previously we attempted prison break and really loved that one. This time we had six people and went to The Heist. Was the first escape room we actually finished on time! Only got a few clues too. Both times, staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything seemed clean, and lots of twists and turns. Will definitely go back a third time and will try their bigger place in The Colony. The only negative I have for this place is that other people can join your group if spots are open. We had a birthday and didn't want anyone else. Luckily didn't charge us, but they wanted to. Really don't like that and haven't encountered that anywhere else. read more

First time I've done an in person escape room. It was really cool. The room was small at first, but opened up in to lots of other rooms. You have to be intuitive and look at everything. Great experience. read more

I'd never done any sort of Escape Room before this, so I was a little skeptical. When I saw it cost $32.99 per person, I really didn't think anything could be worth that entry fee. Yes, my five star review reflects that I definitely enjoyed myself in the end! We had a group of 7 people who did "The Heist." Each game is rated for difficulty, and ours was an 8/10. I'm happy to say that we escaped with six minutes to spare! (Luckily, my friend and I each have a set of really smart sons!) I would recommend going as a group of 7 or 8 people because I'd imagine it would've been tough working with/communicating with strangers. You are allowed three free clues. Any extra clues you request incur a time penalty, although your guide will sometimes toss you a freebie. What can I say? You get really caught up in searching for clues then figuring out their meaning. It was such fun! My son had done other escape rooms and mentioned that he thought Escape Game was well-done and was much better quality than most. It's a lot to pay for one hour of entertainment, but you'll have a blast and bond with your group over it. read more

By far THE BEST escape rooms in the area. Katie was our game master and honestly one of the best human beings I've met in a LONG time. There's a lot to the story but long story short while we were starting to play the Gold Rush room(which is amazing by the way) she went and bought my son a toy from the kiosk outside in the mall. On her own time with her own money. It was such a nice and appreciated gesture. Katie I'm still in awe of your generosity. Thank you. Anywayyyyy, we've played all the games at this location and if I had to pick an order it would be Gold rush, prison break, playground then heist. Really like how the games are layer our. Definitely appreciate the unlimited clues and the themes of the rooms are A+. I can't wait for their new location to open in the Colony because we will definitely visit. We've done a few escape rooms before, but The Escape Game has been my favorite so far! My friend visited once and did "The Playground" which he really enjoyed, so we decided to do "The Heist" this time. "The Heist" is a museum-themed escape where we had to steal back a Monet painting from a shady museum curator. It felt like an episode of Leverage! I really enjoyed all the puzzles and tricks. Some are literal puzzles, some are number games or reading a coded map... Nate was our game master, and my friends and I tried really hard not to ask for clues because we wanted to solve it on our own... but, we would get stuck sometimes and Nate would chime in an occasional "Did you look at _____?" or "Have you tried ______?" which was helpful.
