This was my third trip to the Grapeseed Spa at South Coast Winery. It was a surprise birthday present from my family. I was told my appointment was with Krishna and she was a favorite at the Spa. When it was time for my appointment she walked into the waiting room and it turned out to be the same person I had on my very first visit to the Spa. Oh happy day because she is AMAZING! I got the Deep Relief Back Treatment and it was fantastic. You get a deep tissue massage with the use of heated bamboo sticks, with a mud and mint back mask, followed by plenty of warm towels to seal it all in. On top of that you get a foot massage. This massage is perfect if you spend a lot of time on your feet or have back problems. Now back to Krishna, in addition to being a excellent masseuse, she is complete sweetheart. Very friendly and warm. Takes the time to explain the treatment, what products are being used and asks if you have any allergies before she applies anything to your skin. Place is very clean with ice cold cucumber water for you. Massage came with free glass of wine. Very happy customer, will definitely come back. I LOVED my experience at the Grapeseed Spa. I bought a Living Social deal they had for my boyfriend and I for Christmas. We went to the spa which started with changing into slippers and cushy comfy robes then had a 50 minute massage which was wonderful. After the massage we were served our complimentary glass of wine and got to lounge around on the couches and patio of the spa. We then had a private cabana by the poolside for the rest of the day - it was a little chilly so they brought us out a heat lamp and blankets. It was a great place to just be pampered and relax and we really enjoyed the saltwater pool and jacuzzi as well. Would definitely reccomend and can't wait to go back! read more

Men's Facilities: The Locker room facilities were beautifully kept, although smaller than some of the other spas I have been to. The steam room and dry sauna were a great way to unwind before the massage. Although I didn't use it, there was a private outdoor jacuzzi there as well. The showers were clean, and the multi-spray heads felt great. The locker I originally attempted to use would not lock, and the shower shoes were two different sizes, no sash for the original robe, but nothing I couldn't swap out from another locker. Services: The couples massage was fantastic! Neiko (sp?) was my masseuse and she had an incredible touch. It was honestly the best massage I have ever had. The room itself was a little oddly shaped, but they were still able to clasp my hand to my Fiance's at the end of the treatment. Tables , sheets, towels, sounds were standard for any great spa. Co-ed Facilities: Unfortunately, this fell way short of a 5-star spa experience. Mainly because the hotel/resort pool doubles as the spa pool, which means that there is a significant amount of noise related to kids. As a parent of two, I have grown accustomed to the noise, but not what I want or expect from a "Pricey" spa. In addition, despite the presence of posted rules: 1) No children under 12 permitted in the jacuzzi 2) Children under 14 to be accompanied by an adult at all times while using the jacuzzi ...and the presence of a Security Guard (although operating under the direction of Resort Management, I am certain), there were non-stop children in the jacuzzi with no hope of enforcement of those rules. I understand that the spa provides for gender-specific jacuzzis, but it defeats the purpose of having a Couples Day. Judging by some of the reviews I have read, it appears that I am not the only one that feels that way. For that reason, I can say "Meh...I've experienced better", and I'm crossing it off my list of possibilities to re-visit, despite the close proximity to my residence. Food/Drink: Sampled the Hummus Plate and the Blackened Chicken Sandwich, which were pretty good. Had some Blue Moons and bubbly (about a 5 of 10 as Temecula sparklings go) at the conclusion of the massage. Overall: Might return if I go back without my dearest. read more

This was my first time at a spa, but I immediately was impressed by the relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. We first enjoyed a selection of light cuisine by the saltwater pool. While my wife got a pedicure, I enjoyed the sauna. There was also a steam room, but I passed on it. The massages we received were so stress relieving. Took a weekend off and went to the spa with my girl. I totally got points with this suggestion. We spent time in the sauna and steamroom then had an hour couple massage. Its not the cheapest place but honestly, it was well worth the money. The restaurant at grapeseed was also very well cooked and delicious. Though the atmosphere was more for the established patron, meaning old and rich..... they nonetheless had style. Not the hollywood style but the napa valley style which means very respectful. Worst spa experience I've had. Disorganized and dirty. The one star is for the good massage I had, other than that, this place is a mess. I took my mom for a celebration spa day, we had booked 2 massages weeks in advance and were told we had to share a locker and there weren't enough robes or slippers as they were "overbooked" The spa is understaffed and inexperienced. I ordered a meal after my treatment that never came, no apologies, just handed my money back. Another woman said she was trying to get her $ back for the many rooms she booked at the hotel as when she got there they didn't have enough to accommodate her party. By far the worst experience I have ever endured at a spa. I was extremely unhappy with my pricey 80 minute massage in December 2012 and had been avoiding the place. However, I live locally and thought I would give them another try this year. Big mistake. If you expect to have any food or a glass of wine before your treatment show up at least 2.5 hours ahead of time (this is based on several trips to the spa over the last several years). The snack bar is consistently closed. You then have to order from a very limited and overpriced menu in the spa. We are talking $25 wraps. The food will take an hour to an hour and a half to arrive (it always does). Same with any wine which makes even less sense since it is a winery. The wine menu is limited to a few bottles. I do not understand how they don't offer all of their own wines??? Further - pay attention to what you order! No food bill is ever presented. It is tacked onto your treatment bill at the end of the day and there is no disputing the bill. The employee is always right - more later. I was told that I had no food to pay for when I began checking out (thought my friends may have covered my lunch) and by the time I came back with my credit card I suddenly had food to pay for. Several friends joined me during the visit I am reviewing. We ordered a bottle of champagne between five people at 11:30 am (wasn't served until 1:00pm) and a second one at 2:30pm (which miraculously showed up in 2 minutes). When we attempted to order another around 4:30 we were told that they were no longer serving. When we insisted, stating the spa was open until 7, the spa staff (manager?) stated that we had too much to drink. This was shocking and insulting. We were at a spa at a WINERY to DRINK WINE (shocking I know), and yes... get a little tipsy in the process. The staff suggested we trek across the property to the bar/restaurant/wine tasting area of the resort and see if they would serve us there. Being that we were dressed for the pool we thought this was a fabulous suggestion (insert sarcasm here)! Terrible service. I went to get my scheduled massage and some of my friends who were not happy about the situation sat in the spa and discussed what had happened. Obviously they were incensed. Here is the best part- when comment cards were left about how terrible the service was, specifically referencing the spa staff, the same staff began contacting members of our group to discuss the problem. However, their attitude and behavior had not changed. We were told the manager "didn't want to deal with us" and they refused to believe we ordered two bottles of champagne and had been charged for three. What takes the cake is that one member of the staff listened at the window when my friends were in the spa talking about what had happened and referred to them as "rude and vulgar". Yes, when you make your customers angry they are not going to say nice things, probably rude things, but vulgar? That is just name calling. At the end of it all the spa has lost several customers...and I am sure that I will be influencing others to steer clear. read more

Yesterday was my second visit to the Spa and BOY have things gone downhill!!! After praising my previous visit (also a Travel Zoo), I was thrilled to be treating my daughter to a day at the spa with me, and expecting the same great day I had spent her previously. I had bought our package on Travelzoo and booked it well in advance. We arrived early and we were greeted and treated well at first. After changing into our robes and slippers and relaxing in the outdoor balcony area, we had our treatments. Mine was very average but my daughter enjoyed hers immensely. We do a spa day quite often, so this was not a new experience for either of us. While waiting we checked the spa menu and were disappointed to see how limited it was. We asked two spa employees if it was possible to order anything off the restaurant menu and both said "NO." Not being thrilled with the choices, we decided on Chicken Wraps. It must have taken 45 mins from the time we ordered them to receive them. By this time we were relaxing at the pool and there were very few people sitting poolside. The wraps were very average and very expensive with only a slice of over ripe watermelon and orange slices on the plate. After finishing our lunch, we kept seeing other people ordering and eating things NOT listed on the spa menu and we were puzzled. We finally asked and were told, you had to ask another person, not a spa employee, for that menu and service. This leads me to believe the spa is getting a cut of the meals they serve and thus is not truthful to their clients. Money is money and when I'm spending it, I don't like being lied to and not given the choices that are available. As for expenses, it got costly. I don't mind tipping people, in fact, I usually over tip. The spa seems to be shooting themselves in the foot when adding on the tip up front. I was charged 3 different fees: one for the locker room person, one for the actual message and one for the pool attendant. Upon checking out, I was also charged a service charge for the wrap to be brought from the restaurant to the pool. I questioned that and was told that is the way they do it. When using the private spa in the woman's jacuzzi area, we were very surprised at the quality of the towels. You could literally see through them and there were strings hanging of both sides. Time for some new ones I'd say. We wish we had been told in advance that the stream room was broken as well. I've been to spa's all over the country and world, this was by far the most unbelievable and maddening day in what should have been a relaxing fun experience. My main complaint is the way we both were lied to. Never again. read more

Very upset with this place, I am 4 months pregnant (not showing yet) woman. I booked a facial here and a deep tissue massage. My wedding was coming up in two days so I was so excited to go to the spa. First off this place is ridiculously hard to find. It took me 30 min to walk through the maze to get there. I arrive and have my facial as planned then I go and get into the elevator to go up to my massage, well some lady who I believed to be the manager working on 4/15 At 5pm stops the elevator door and says "so we are changing your deep tissue massage to a pregnancy massage. And In my mind I'm furious because I told the woman who booked my appointment that I was pregnant and a pro athlete and needed a deep Tishue and she booked me no problem. I asked her what the pregnancy massage consists of and she began to go on that it would be light and relaxing and she stated "We will not do a deep tissue on a pregnant woman." To me this was DISCRIMINITORY. So just because I am pregnant I am not allowed to do other things that woman can do? I don't have the right to the same service other woman are allowed? The woman was very rude so I declined the massage and told her to cancel it and left the spa immediately. The desk clerk tried to charge me for the massage while I was checking out and then took the massage off. Very upsetting situation to have happen two days before my wedding. There is no law that pregnant women can't have massages especially deep Tissue, we still legally have to work and live daily normal lives we deserve to be treated equally. They also DO NOT have the "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" sights posted anywhere which they legally have to have to turn someone away. Are there no good spas left in beautiful Southern California? And honestly Grape Seed would be a wonderful spa if it wasn't for a horrible experience... I had called to set up a spa day for my sister, a boy answered (Kory? Cody?), I explained to him it was a surprise and had chosen some services out of the menu for her. He gathered some info from me and had me repeat what services I was looking for. He asked suddenly to put me on hold and left me on hold for 6mins (I kept track). He came back on and asked for a 3rd time for me to repeat the services I was interested in. He told me he wasn't looking at the books at the moment and would call me within the hour to confirm with me that there was availability. Well I didn't get a call back and so i left a message the next day that was never returned. Since I live not too far I decided to stop in and make the appointments in person. I walked into the lovely lobby to find no one at the desk. I stood waiting, than I hear laughter around the corner behind the desk which I assume is an office. The employees are watching a video on their phones laughing. I ask- "Excuse me!" And the laughter stops and a larger gentlemen comes out and greets me. At this point I've had it. Not wanting to deal with an incapable front desk any longer I turned around and walked out. I'll try another spa who wants business. read more

My friends and I went to Temecula this past wknd to do some wine tasting and to have a girls wknd getaway...so we decided to get a spa treatment at one of the best wineries in Temecula( South Coast Winery)...well I will admit it was nice that they escort you to a private locker room and give a robe and even sandals it's a very nice detail...but the reason I gave it 2 stars is because the massage was not all that great the esthetician only asked me the type of pressure that I desired but she never asked if I wanted and area of my body worked on more than the others...also she didn't seam very experience and I get a massage by my masseuse lady about once a month and this massage had no comparison...the spa is very nice and it does have little features that make u feel "rich"...lol....but the real reason you're there is for the spa treatment and if that's not up to par with the rest then there's no point on returning...right?.....I would absolutely not return and would not think about spending $120.00 for something that I felt like I wasted my money on!... read more

Disappointed. Where to begin how awful my experience was. The 80 min customized deep tissue/ aroma therapy message was excellent. Everything else about my experience was horrible. First off when booking an appointment you should tell me you are undergoing a major renovation. Also the pool is right outside the spa. So during my service I heard load talking, children screaming, and my favorite the banging and metal grinding from the construction. I was also told the no longer allow eat on the spa balcony because it was getting to loud in the past and guest were complaining. So I could go set out by the pool in the hot sun in Temecula in the summer. No thank you. I went on the balcony to relax after my message and the loud pool crowd and the construction was too much. So I left. Oh I forgot to mention they don't have enough lockers so you get to walk down a back stairway to the hot basement where the extra lockers were. Before South Coast Winery opened their hotel this Spa would have been a 5 star spa. However, the hotel guests now share the spa facilities with Spa customers. The pool area used to be a pleasant place to relax, have lunch with a glass of wine and enjoy the company of other spa goers. The last time my sister, daughter, cousin and I were at the spa we had to share the pool with screaming kids, crying babies, yelling mothers. It was NOT the pleasant experience we were expecting. Come on South Coast Winery.....you have BIG BUCKS!! Build a pool area for your hotel guests!! Leave the Spa area for Spa patrons (no children are allowed in the spa). Will I go to South Coast for Spa services in the future??....probably not....until I can be assured that my spa experience is a peaceful one. I do want to say that the inside of the spa (indoor whirlpool, sauna and steam), and the treatments are great. BUT....if I am spending a premium to use the pool area along with the Spa treatment, I want a peaceful, relaxing time. Spa patrons....BEWARE.....the pool will be full of loud, splashing kids. Their mother's will be either screaming at the kids or indifferent about their actions. Don't get me wrong....I do have kids....that is why I like to go to the spa (and South Coast was my FORMER first choice....to relax and get away from the LOUD, SCREAMING, etc. read more

First time we went over the summer- it was fantastic, well above expectations. Went again recently, and the luster has worn off a little. Pros: Next to winery (need I say more?), wait room upstairs is lovely, just lovely. Beautiful decor and great scents in the room. Instant relaxation as soon as you step off elevator. Facial and massage were top-notch. Like the extras like organic teas, bowls of fruits, champagne/wine after treatment, and nice view on outdoor balcony. The locker rooms are small, but we must have gone on off-peak days because it didn't feel overly crowded. Cons:The food. It's terribly average, especially for higher price. Really not good. Expect more from a winery spa. They should be able to pull it together and have better lunch, especially since they're near so many healthful little farms (they should have a farm-to-table vibe). But- it's really average food so just don't expect much in that department and you'll be fine. Other con was (we had used the Travelzoo special, $100 for a spa tx), the front desk receptionist PRE-CHARGED us the gratuity BEFORE the treatment. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of gratuity, which is to show how much you appreciate a service? They don't keep a tab open (like other 4-star resort spas) so that we can order pool drinks and food without having to pay throughout the day. Who wants to hang around a spa with cash or credit card tucked in your bathrobe? Rubbed me the wrong way. Especially since you would think gratuity is for a job well done, so should be charged AFTER a service, not before. And, I always pay 20% gratuity on the full amount, not less. Disappointing, because it gave off the impression that the spa manager is worried that their clientele are the kind who run off after a treatment without paying. Not sure if they do this with everyone or just Travelzoo folks. (By the way, the Travelzoo deal is just OK,not great. For only $30 more, you can be treated to first-morning appointment at a 5-star resort spa with incredible food and bigger spa area with adults-only pool. We only went up to this spa because the first Travelzoo special was a really good deal that included lunch and wine.) Overall, will probably return again to give it another try, because when it comes down to it, the treatments are very well-done, the spa relaxation area upstairs is great, and the pool is very nice. The front desk folks (manager, whoever) need to improve their customer service. And, until we hear the food quality has improved, we will have to change our schedule so that we fit in lunch at one of the nearby winery cafes. That's too bad because we usually like to stay, hang out at the pool, and order wine/drinks all afternoon. read more

I was super trilled to be here due to the first time ever at a Day Spa. & boy oh boy was I shocked at the 18% gratuity on the original price of service of $420! I thought I was paying for the separate mani/pedi & at checkout when I had to pay again I was shocked!! Ahh what a joke! 75.60 in tip alone! I can feed a family with that!!!! Plus the cute really pale girl in the front ripped me off $19 in cash! I gave her a $100 for the $75.60 bills & walked away with $5 in cash! I was confused & didn't say anything because at that point I thought the difference was for tip, until I got home & realized the $75 was tip. I still had to pay $50 for the mani/pedi separately. All in all ask questions & recipes & don't be too caught up in the hype that you forget to question what the heck your paying for. Visited with my sister for what was supposed to be a great, relaxing spa day for my birthday. We took advantage of a special they had running. We each had 2 services scheduled, pedicure & facial. After getting settled in, we were showed the waiting room where we relaxed until our appointments. My sister went off to her facial and I went off for my pedicure. I told the nail tech I had gel on my toes so she was aware. I was immediately told "sorry but we don't take gel off and they should have told you when you scheduled." I informed her they did not and why weren't they clear when booking? She said she'd see what she could do, but just told me sorry again. Disappointed and bummed, I canceled my pedicure appointment and told them I'm going to sit in the spa until my facial. When my 11am appointment was getting near, I went to the waiting room once more to be called. I waited, waited, waited. At 11:20 I asked the front desk why I hadn't been called for my facial. She said "well I don't know why" as I followed her to the locker room to grab my paperwork. Once there, I confirmed again I had a 11 am facial. They also said I did and brought me upstairs to wait AGAIN!!! After about 5 mins., a hostess came out and told me "we're sorry but she's booked till 2:30." We made these appointments weeks ago I told her and were confirmed when we checked in this am. She said I could come back. I told her absolutely not and I want a refund immediately. I went downstairs, grabbed my stuff from my locker, and left. Trying not to let this completely ruin my stay, I asked for a pool key and was given a key to the pool that also did not work!! The spa was horribly understaffed and seemed completely ignorant of spa etiquette. I seriously thought I was on candid camera because it was so unbelievably bad. Nope. My girlfriend and I stayed at the resort on a Groupon voucher which also included a 1/2 day demi cabana rental at the pool and $20 toward spa services, as well as a day pass to the spa amenities. The spa is beautiful. The staff is so attentive and accommodating. We were checked in by the front desk staff and shown to the locker room where the attendant was so sweet and showed us all around and pointed out all the things that were available. In addition to the huge salt water pool and hot tub outside, there is a smaller women's only hot tub and a sauna and steam room off the women's locker room. They have every toiletry item you could need and the showers and bathroom areas are very nice. The locker room doesn't feel like any locker room I've ever seen. We had booked the Decadent Romance package and when it was time for our service they took us upstairs to the treatment area and showed us into a waiting room. Our massage therapists were Teal and Maria who took us into a double massage room for our massage. The tables themselves were warmed and the coverings were really nice. The massages themselves were great. The atmosphere, music, products were all great. They had heated aromatherapy treated towels to put over our faces and under our necks when we were on our backs. After our massage, the therapists had our champagne and chocolate covered strawberries ready for us which were delicious. The reception desk kept the remainder of our champagne on ice for us while we went to lunch and then brought it out to us by the hot tub so we could finish it. While in the hot tub, the locker room attendant kept checking in on us and offering us water or checking to see if we needed anything else. Every department of the resort was attentive, caring, friendly and accommodating to any request but the spa was especially so. I can't rave enough. We will definitely be back. read more

We stayed at South Coast Winery Resort this week and I booked a manicure and pedicure while we were there. We tried to also have massages but they said they were booked, although the spa seemed empty. As for my manicure and pedicure I could have done the same thing and save myself the $50.00. I was disappointed. My cuticles were not clipped and there was NO exfoliation or massage during my pedicure. Maybe their other services are better, but don't waste your time or money having a manicure or pedicure done here. read more

Worst customer service and service in general. My wife and her friends planned a day at the South Coast Winery Spa for one of the lady's birthday. The five ladies were attempting to enjoy the day by the pool with massages. They were charged for three bottles of wine and only drank two. By 4 PM, the server said that they were cut off. Three bottles of wine amongst 5 ladies over at least 5-6 hours was too much. My wife ordered food prior to her massage appointment at 12PM and it did not arrive until 1:30 PM, The manager, Elizabeth, admitted to opening her office window so that she could eaves drop on the ladies' conversations. Elizabeth, with her sanctimonious attitude, decided that she didn't like what the friends were talking about and said it was part of the reason that they refused to serve the ladies. She did not address the poor service. Beware of spying staff and self-righteous managers! read more

Amazing Spa!! This is our second visit to the Grapeseed Spa. Perfectly located at the South Coast Winery. It is surrounded by Villa's and well appointed landscape. All the different flowers mixing with the grape orchard's are breath taking and so are the rolling hills, in the distance. We are lucky enough to find these Travelzoo deals that include a massage, lunch and a glass of wine. This deal also gives us access to the spa facilities such as: The quiet room and balcony, perfect for that zen like relaxation, cucumber water, tea, fruit, comfy sofa's, dry sauna, stream bath , jacuzzi, lockers, showers and the Pool area with cabana's, bottle and food service and over sized jacuzzi. Robes and shower shoes are also provided. I suggest bringing your own shoes. They changed the type of shoe, since last time we visited and I ended up with blisters on my feet. You can use the spa facility as long as you want, on the day of your visit. We were there for over five hours. Truly a delightful experience. Next time we plan to rent a villa and extend our stay. read more

My friend had a massage at this spa on 8/11 while mine was scheduled for another day. I waited for my friend at the pool and when she came down I asked her how her massage was and she did say it was good but was very uncomfortable due to how warm it was in the room. She mentioned to me that she wished the staff would have mentioned there was a problem with the air conditioner(she found out after the fact) not working so she could have had the option to reschedule. I'm not sure wether to keep my appt or not, seems they are more concerned about lost revenue then keeping guests comfortable on what was one of the hottest days thus far. read more

This place is a hidden gem. 5 star. It has a really nice ambiance. The landscaping and surrounding views are beautiful. Very relaxing. I had a Grape Seed facial by Sara. She was friendly and very professional. She is an excellent esthetician who is very knowledgeable in skin care. I highly recommend Grapeseed Spa and Sara. read more

I have experienced several treatments and particularly saw great results with the hydra facial. Nice relaxed spa area with separate women and men areas with jacuzzis. Beautiful balcony overlooking pool and grape vines. The pool is the only complaint I have. The pool area would be a great place to hang except it is the only pool and is used by hotel guests. There usually are kids, and people on cell phones. read more

Having been a customer at South Coast for many years, my visit at the spa on Thursday the 15th and the visit prior to this last one have left me thinking I wasted my time and money and was treated incredibly poor. To begin, I arrived an hour early and was rushed in by a front desk person because the spa was short staffed. I was not yet concerned because I knew my way around. The first sign that things may not be going well was when the front desk person told me to hurry and get upstairs. I sort of chuckled because she seemed to really think I was late. I advised her it was only 5 minutes past the hour and I had a lot of time and was thinking of sitting by the pool beforehand where I may like to grab a bite to eat. She said that was fine and off she went. I changed and went to the pool where I had to locate towels and there did not seem to be anyone working outside for food to be ordered that was in sight. I waited for 20 minutes, no one came to take my order so I decided to go for my first service and have food after. I went upstairs, had a facial, then waited in the lounge where normally an attendant will come and ask what you would like. In fact, normally, when you check into the changing area, the attendant takes your lunch order then and gets an idea of what you'd like to do and when etc. That never happened. So I waited in the lounge for about 25 minutes until I realized if I did not go find someone and order food I'd be very hungry in my next two services which would keep me occupied for the following two and a half hours. I then went back downstairs to locate someone to order food. Once I located someone, I was advised that the food serving hours were past and I could not order food. I was taken aback by this and explained the situation. A nice lady tried to help me, I think her name was Belinda. She returned and explained that indeed the food service was not operating, Not having eaten yet that day was beginning to become uncomfortable. I explained again and asked if anyone could help with just getting something quick so I could eat something. Eventually I was brought a humus plate with terrible looking carrot sticks and celery sticks and a lump of humus in the middle of the plate. No napkin, no utensils, and a man handing it to me stated, "here." At this point I was upset and stressed out. The big thing running through my mind was that I had wanted to go to the spa so much so that I looked forward to it, planned it perfectly, and was really looking forward to a day of relaxation and pampering. That simply did not happen. When the humus was offered I only had five minutes to be in the next service. Even though it looked awful, I was really hungry so said I would take it and eat it quickly on my way upstairs. The man who had offered the humus then said no, withdrew the plate away and advised me no one gets to eat upstairs anymore. I then declined the food and said I was surprised at how this was turning out for me and disappointed that I was going to be hungry for the next two and half hours. The girl who had tried to rush me earlier made a big sigh sound and was really borderline arrogant. I walked away so upset that I felt tears sting my eyes. I could't believe this was my spa day. Ruined by terrible customer service and rude employees. I arrived upstairs again and was stressed out. My name was called and I entered the treatment room. I explained the situation to Carol and she seemed to think it needed to be shared with the director, Nichole, who is quite new at the spa. Carol explained that the no food upstairs is a new policy and also that they were short staffed which was the explanation for the front desk person being who had greeted me that morning. Long story short, Hannah came to speak with me. She brought me a sandwich and told me not to worry about time because they had swapped who was doing the service so it was okay if I began late. Turns out that was wrong. My 80 minute massage was reduced to 50. I was not happy because I booked exactly what I wanted and felt I had been manipulated so they could appease me with a quick sandwich. Then when the massage was over, I was told I "might" have enough time to shower because they were closing. The whole day was a train-wreck. For me, saving the money to go spend a day in total relaxation is one of the things I look forward to and save the money so I can go to a great place. South Coast let me down. To add insult to injury, the night before my spa day I contacted South Coast to confirm my wine club membership because that would allow me to receive a 20% discount on an approximately $500 day (per my estimation prior to discounts and prior to losing 30 minutes of the massage I had booked). During check out I was told that my membership was exp. and I did not get the discount. I told him I confirmed it the prior night. I got arguments in return. This experience was a waste of my spa day $ and ruined it for me. Disappointed is an understatement. read more

This place charges Orange County prices for mediocre work. Yeah it is relaxing at $40 if that is what you are paying. First off, their technique for massage is about the same as what an esthetician learns in school. Left feeling no better or worse. The product made me itchy. On top of everything they failed to do a consultation. Didn't even ask about medical history. Not anything. The parking is absolutely ridiculous and I was not warned prior to arrival. Traffic in the parking lot, misleading signs, etc. Somewhat concerned that they think this is worth more than Nordstrom Spa and Germaine Du Cappuccini. At least they know what they are doing. It seemed like a recent esthetics graduate performed a massage. And their massages are limited to certain techniques from what I understand. Maybe the massage therapists just didn't know proper technique. I am not quite sure what this county's minimum requirement for massage therapy is but now I am going to look it up because this was bare minimal. read more
