My 80 minute spa pedicure was hardly memorable. I wish I would have had a massage instead. Grapeseed spa is very pricey compared to other resort spas. We stayed at The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel after we checked out of the South Coast Winery and their Spa rates were about the same. I would have rather spent the money at The Ritz Carton. We visit South Coast Winery every year, next time I will get a massage. Hopefully I have a better experience. As for the amenities, jacuzzi, cucumber water, steam room, sauna, etc, ALL was Great!!! read more

What a beautiful place! Spent two days at the spa with services both days. The massage therapists are fantastic! Very relaxing. Robes and sandals are provides and the facility does have private quarters for men and women with sauna, jacuzzi, toiletries, etc. We spent a lot of time by the heated pool with a few drinks and snacks. The staff by the pool was also great! The facility is very clean, outside pool area as well. The fitness center has a decent amount of machines and some free weights to get a good workout in. read more

Came in for a couples massage early in the morning. Did not leave disappointed! It was nice that all the amenities like pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna were included with the package. We even got a glass of wine at the end of the massage! Our masseuses listened to all of our needs and focus areas and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. I'm giving 4 stars because I feel like the amenities, while great to be included when you're spending $300+ on massages, weren't all that great in value. The steam rooms/saunas are in the separate men/women locker rooms so there's a bit of a disconnect when you go with your SO. Also the main pool and jacuzzi are a bit basic in size and decoration, maybe not worth the $70 day pass. The bar and cafe can maybe do a little better going around and asking people if they want drinks and refills to give it a more hospitable feeling. Felt very self service and on your own at times. The only local merchant that sells Arcona beauty products. Pricing on the Arcona products was the same as on-line pricing with no wait. Staff was very friendly. When I called to inquire about the face wash, the gentleman who answered the phone was kind enough to hold it for me. I was greeted when I arrived and promptly rung up and on my way. I decided to get a massage on Black Friday instead of dealing with the stress and craziness in the stores. I ahad Krishna for my massage, as many others recommended, and she was great. I only wished I had done a 80 minute massage instead of 50 minutes. After the massage, I enjoyed my free glass of wine up on the balcony overlooking the pool, then hit the sauna and steam room. As my stress had melted away, I realized that I had made a very good decision for my Friday! Love this place. Just had a spa day with the girls. Very nice people.... All super duper friendly. I had a deep tissue massage and a mud wrap... Next time I'll pass on the wrap, the massage with bob was amazing. Awesome... The girls and I had a private hot tub for some naked time :-) lol.... And it was sprinkling which was extra nice. Loved the steam and dry sauna. I felt like a pampered princess... Did I mention the complimentary wine, and the delicious chicken and avocado BLT. I can't wait to come back here. My 5th wedding anniversary is this November... I'm def gonna bring hubby for a spa day, and we will stay in a room and have a lovers wine retreat. I can't wait. This place was awesome! The massage was excellent and very relaxing. The place was very clean and provided all the amenities needed to get ready (shower w/ shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, blowdryer, hair straightener, curling iron, body lotion, etc). It's a great place for a bridal party to have a pre-wedding relaxation day. The customer service was amazing! Someone was waiting for me when my massage was done to take me down to the cabana by the pool. Everyone was so nice and attentive and made me feel completely comfortable. The location is nestled right in the middle of all the wineries and has a gorgeous view of the mountains. I asked if we could have the wine earlier in the day since we would be driving home that evening. Spa was very accommodating. Some of the best massages I've had have been here at Grapeseed Spa. Even if you aren't booking a service, access to the pool, spas, steam rooms and saunas is available. Poolside drink and food service is quick, friendly and reasonably priced. The Tuscan cabana was a great decision. Private space with tables, couches, chairs, towels & a bottle of sparkling wine included. Wine purchased at the winery can be corked and enjoyed poolside as well. The locker room & showers were clean, fully stocked and attended. Admission includes a comfy robe for lounging around in as well. Overall excellent experience! read more

I was significantly disappointed with my recent visit to Grape Seed. My massage was so light, it just felt like someone lightly rubbed me. I asked the girl if she could use a firmer touch, she said "ok." I didn't notice a difference. Then as I flipped over, I asked her again. Her response was, "no, you didn't order a medium firm massage when you booked it." What???? That's crazy. I was completely shocked at her refusal. At the least, I would have expected her to give me what I was asking for and then tell me on the way out that next time I should book another type of massage. I'm a member of Massage Envy where for 1/2 the price, I have never been told "no, I can't do that." I read their massage menu and it says nothing about the level of firmness allowed. read more

I came here with my mother for a late Mother's Day celebration. Robin, who checked us in at the spa and kept up the saunas, jacuzzi, locker room and showers was great! Such fantastic service from her! However my massage was not great. First off, when I called and booked my reservation a month in advance I was told one of us would have a male massage therapist. That was fine. I would have the female and my mother was fine with a male. Well when we got there I was informed we'd both get males and I wasn't comfortable with that and told them. They said they were booked and they could t do anything. They must've told my therapist this because we even commented "sorry you couldn't get a female, but when you've been doing it as long as I have you don't get offended anymore". I felt like this comment from Gary was inappropriate and not necessary. Really made the session awkward and uncomfortable. I wish I walked out of the room the second he told me that. Another issues was he lifted the blankets while he was at the top of the table by my head, completely in sight of myself under the blanket. Any other therapist would lift the blanket from ear the bottom or middle of table so they can't see me under the blanket. I will never come here again if that's the way therapists treat their clients. Gary was completely inappropriate and made me feel uncomfortable. read more

We recently came for a little holiday getaway and stayed at the resort at South Coast Winery. The villas here are beautiful as are the grounds and the pool and the jacuzzi. If you find yourself in Temecula in need of a little facial or just a massage then come here! I booked and early morning appointment for a facial. Nothing better than rolling out of bed a quick shower and off to the spa. The girls at the receptionist desk were very friendly and the locker room attendant gave me a tour of the facilities. Take advantage of either the dry or regular sauna. Extra perk to it is that there is a women's and men's side. So you will not be in there with the guys and they also use a little eucalyptus in the saunas. Great for opening and clearing those sinus. Aww then comes the private jacuzzi. The resort does have a pool and jacuzzi available for it's guest but that's for both the men and the ladies to use. Then there is the private showers so you can freshen up. If you forgot a blow dryer and such they have a drawer here full of beauty tools for use. Down fall .. No flat iron.... I mentioned that upon my little tour.. The locker room attendant showed me to the locker room where you are given a locker which you can program your own code. I was told to change then taken upstairs to the portion of the spa where the facials and massages are preformed. I was assigned to the esthetician Valentina. Valentina lead me to a room that exuded tranquility. Valentina was so attentive, professional and obviously educated. We both had a few things in common for sure. The love of glycolic acid and the skin care line Kerstin Florian which the spa is using now but it will be available for retail as of August 1st. Her consultation was thorough as was her analysis of my skin. She also had beautiful flawless skin so I felt even more so comfortable being in her hands. Lets just say that she made me feel so relaxed. Her facial massage was also a perk. I asked her what she would recommend for my skin as in skin care. She wrote down a few things from Kerstin Florian's line that she felt would be good. Mind you Kerstin Florian's line is a little pricey but it is so worth it. Luckily the salon that I work at also uses this line of skin care for facials so I got a nice little discount. My skin feels amazing. It could also be that 38% of glycolic acid she used in my facial. Best part. When we were finished she offered me a glass of wine or champagne. Sigh.... What a relaxing day. I sat outside on the balcony over looking the resort and vineyards as I sipped on South Coast Winery's Merlot and nibbled on the fresh fruit they have there for you. If you don't care for the alcohol beverage then boo on you. They do have some of that great "spa water".. You know.. Sliced fruit in ice cold water.. Or they have a wide selection of tea's or coffee... Long review but I am still so impressed and can't wait to return. They do offer specials... I really wanted to love this place. Temecula does not really have much. It is very small town than I am use to so to be able to go to a spa and relax all day is what I was looking for. I made a reservation for a facial and massage. Arrive about 3-4 hours early to be able to use the amenities and when I check in they tell me I am not in the system. They look and look and nothing so then they decide to give me what ever available apt they have left for massage and facial. I specifically asked for a female misuse and they tell me all they have is male. Now I am getting aggravated and want to just go to glen ivy or some where else before my stress free day turns into a nightmare. They make the reservation for me to stay and inform me they will try to call a female misuse in. While they are putting in my name and info in the system he reads back my contact number to me. Well how did you get my contact information if I had never been here before?? Clearly some one really screwed up. Put all my information in the system and never put as a saved reservation. Instead of them admitting that one of their staff members screwed up and giving me my reservation with my request at the time I had booked for, I had different appointment times now and they had to call in someone because the people who were in their system had some sort of priority over my reservation I made but which they clearly never put in. On top me me having to work around what all they had left because I was not in their system when I arrived, the day was by far not relaxing at all. I get a "tour" I suppose of the womens area and the jacuzzi is broken the lady tells me but says they have another at the pool. I put all my stuff away in the locker room which is super tiny and when I was leaving at the end of the day it was filled with at least 5 women and I had to wait to even be able to get anywhere near my locker. The womens area is super small. The sauna and steam room only fit 2-3 people. The main pool is also for hotel guests so kids run around and there were a group of ladies who must of been celebrating something because there were so many of them, they all were downing wine and being extremely loud. I eventually got tired of the pool and went to go let off some steam in the gym and I am with my head phones in the yoga room they have and a lady and her husband are walking around the gym which is fine but then they walk in the yoga room and I am not paying much attention and she decides to interrupt me and I could not hear a thing so I take off my head phones and she asks if I am giving a class... Really lady you stop me to ask me if I am giving a class and I am the only person in the entire gym? What if I was giving a class thats gym etiquette 101. I shake my head and give her this weird face like really?? I can understand people wanting to see the place but if the staff is just going to let anyone walk around they should give a disclaimer letting people know this is a spa/gym w.e so if you could not disturb anyone. On top of that I left one of my gym gloves there. I called housekeeping and left a message. This was 2 days ago. I still have yet to receive a phone call back. I am just very disappointed in the lack of customer service and accommodations for there mishaps. Not an even I am sorry we made a mistake. All and all it was not a relaxing day. My mom got me a "travel zoo special" facial treatment as a gift for mothers day. I came in with my grandmother and my mom on a weekday. I am a local and this was my first visit to the Grape Seed Spa this day was supposed to be a special treat. I felt the front desk staff was less than attentive and it seemed as though once they heard we had the discount service ($85) we got even worse service. All of our treatments were just okay and my gram and mom are pretty easy to please. I on the other hand was an esthetician for 11 years and I felt my treatment was quite mediocre definitly not worth the discount price of $85 it felt like she was just going through the motions with no special care or attention to what my skin needed. I was also annoyed that they kept calling our treatments the "travel zoo facial" once again making me feel like we were being treated differently. I thought they run these specials to bring in new clientele and keep them!? I definitely recommend Glen Ivy over this place any day. I will not be back. Okay so I'm not a total negative Nancy here are a few pros about the spa. Pros: The locker room attendant was through and delightful! The locker room while small was well stocked. They do carry some nice facial product lines but were out of the one I wanted to purchase and did not offer anything as a back up or anyway to order it. I booked a spa day for myself and 2 friends through Travel Zoo and 2 more friends wanted to join us after the "deal" had ended... Grapeseed was gracious enough to offer a very similar deal at about the same price so all 5 of us could have a nice day together. The receptionists were very accommodating and making the reservation was very easy, as was checking in. Corey at the front desk and Elizabeth were friendly, welcoming and well informed, handled our charges...(paid gratuity for the staff at check in..so no need to carry $ or cc around while lounging). The service was exceptional every step of the way...lots of clean fluffy towels for pool, spa, showers etc...locker room attendants were all about "yes" very helpful.... nice facilities in the gym and locker room area. We ordered our lunch at check in and it was served pool side, on time and it was fabulous! The pool attendant was probably the weakest link of the day... he was difficult to find after the food came out, and then not nearly as friendly or accommodating as EVERYONE else we met on the staff, collecting up our robes and Zendals(which I loved) without a word.... I had to chase after him to get the sandals back.. didn't know which of the robes in his arms had been mine so I wrapped a towel around my suit to return to the locker room at the end of our day. Maybe he had a date waiting or somewhere to hurry off to after work... We all had massages and agreed they were nice, but not spectacular... next time(and there will be a next time) I will purchase a longer, more focused massage...but it WAS a $99 deal for massage, lunch and facilities for a day! so I've no complaint..The massage therapists could not have been nicer and the relaxation deck above the pool, before and after our treatments, was lovely. We had a fun mud mask which I recommend they offer as an option to be added to their "packages"...We enjoyed a bottle of wine poolside with lunch... took a Jacuzzi, sauna.... wonderful shower and off to watch the sunset as we headed back to San Diego.... fabulous day! I had the best massage of my life today with Bonnie. I have chronically tight shoulders that give me a lot of trouble so I get frequent massages. I always have to warn the therapist that I will probably want more pressure with the massage. Bonnie was amazing! I felt so relaxed after her session. I am a Grapeseed Spa member and love the deal that I have with them. For $75 a month, I get to use the spa facilities (fitness room, spa amenities and pool). Spa members get one "free" spa treatment ranging from facials, body scrubs, and massages. Thereafter, members get 20% off any additional treatments after their "free" monthly treatment. We get a complimentary glass of wine after each treatment and once a month on a Thursday, Grapeseed members are invited to a special event, such as Yoga and wine night or jazz and wine night... I heard membership is closed and their is a pretty long waiting list. I've tried many different treatments and the warm stone massage is still hands down my favorite. The best massage therapist I've had is a friendly lady named Krishna. She is new to the facility but I've heard great things about her from the friendly staff. She was so amazing I tipped her $50 which is double my usual tip. I hate to throw anyone under the bus, but I had the worse massage ever the other night. I am petite and weak, so I don't like a lot of pressure, so imagine when I got... uhh, still don't want to throw her under the bus, but I don't want you to have a bad experience either. She was really nice...but I couldn't feel a thing. I could barely feel her hands, it didn't feel like a massage at all. It was like someone was running their hands up and down my back. My kids give better massages then her :( okay, so don't ask for Carol... sorry. The facility is clean, its small compared to chains like Burke Williams. The locker area is small, they don't have vanities and chairs to sit down and get ready. They do have blow dryers, brushes, combs, etc but they are in the dresser across from the locker room. You'll have to use the mirrors in the restroom. They don't have body lotion, just spray deodorants and hair spray. There are 3 showers, a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. No quiet room or "rest" rooms like some day spas have so you can just go lay down and veg. I guess you can do that at the pool or under a cabana. I still prefer Burke Wililiams even though it's a chain day spa but I like the big facilities like Las Vegas Day Spas, but if you are a local or if you're visiting Wine country, Grapeseed spa is the BEST day spa in the area. Normally, to be honest, I wouldn't have purchased something like this, but given that it was a deal that was too hard to pass up, I figured it was about time to spoil myself. The package I purchased included: two 50-minute massages, wine, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, and full-access to the spa's amenities (including sauna, steam room, pool, and jacuzzi) for a six-hour period. Upon arrival, while I was given a tour of the women's facilities, my boyfriend said that there was no one attending to him in the men's locker room, and was disappointed that he was not given the same treatment as myself when we got there. But after the SPLENDID and AMAZING 50-minute massage, he quickly forgot that he was neglected, and began to quickly enjoy the amenities until our departure. All of the staff is welcoming. They encourage you to stay and enjoy the facility including the pool. It is a bit of a challenge to find the first time. You need to enter off Anza. Grapeseed Salon only [I love the Spa so should return to write a separate review since there is no dedicated Yelp page for the Salon only] Nail salon: I get a fancy manicure/pedicure about once a year and the end result of the one I got at the Grapeseed Spa Salon made me regret even doing that, especially for the price. I politely asked a couple of times trying to correct several things that seemed to be producing the nail version of a train wreck, to no avail. I'm not even sure she buffed any of my nails at all; this is the first pedicure I've paid for that left my toes still with ridges visible through the polish. Half of my nails were crooked and looked just chopped, and a couple had sloppy polish applications such that you could see a good bit of my nail on the side of the polish line. I was seated in a massage chair that stopped every two minutes, but when I asked the manicurist how to work the (possibly broken) remote control she had unceremoniously handed me, she actually shrugged and simply said she had no idea. Um, sorry I brought you my business? Are you frightened and nervous because I asked you to make my nails short? Are you suffering because you don't remember how you ended up here today working as a manicurist and you think you are losing your mind? That I could understand since my nails looked like they were done by a crazy person who possibly used to once be a manicurist. Thanks for the free glass of wine, I needed it. Especially when the receptionist responded to my request to leave a (generous) 15% tip with, "Okay...sorry, what was that, 20%?" So yes my friends, I bumped it up to 20%. Why? I do love the Grapeseed Spa in general, and the receptionist in question had actually helped me out with a couple of things; not sure she saw any of that absurdly generous tip, however. Bottom line: I love the spa, but nothing could get me back into the nail salon ever again. This place was pretty great. Looks kind of small on the outside, like you don't really know what you're walking into. Until you step inside. Huge! Beautiful. Food to order, alcohol to order, pool/ jacuzzi, showers, lockers, hair salon, nail techs and of course massage rooms (which were a little small. I felt bad for the therapist who tripped on stuff trying to maneuver her way around the table during the massage lol!). It was pretty expensive, so not sure I'll go back anytime soon. But my massage was nice. The ladies at the front weren't too inviting. I had to say hello first. And when it was my time to leave, they just seemed like they were at a job they didn't care for. It showed. But my therapist was EXTREMELY nice and welcoming. Very warm vibe. Even the ladies who were there to clean were nice and smiled and had good vibes about them. This was my third trip to the Grapeseed Spa at South Coast Winery. It was a surprise birthday present from my family. I was told my appointment was with Krishna and she was a favorite at the Spa. When it was time for my appointment she walked into the waiting room and it turned out to be the same person I had on my very first visit to the Spa. Oh happy day because she is AMAZING! I got the Deep Relief Back Treatment and it was fantastic. You get a deep tissue massage with the use of heated bamboo sticks, with a mud and mint back mask, followed by plenty of warm towels to seal it all in. On top of that you get a foot massage. This massage is perfect if you spend a lot of time on your feet or have back problems. Now back to Krishna, in addition to being a excellent masseuse, she is complete sweetheart. Very friendly and warm. Takes the time to explain the treatment, what products are being used and asks if you have any allergies before she applies anything to your skin. Fourth visit for massage. Front desk attitudes were lax. Massage was mediocre at best. Service has gone down hill. The sink area in ladies room was messy. The spa worker came to clean it, removed trash but did not wipe down sink area or replace hand towels. Rented cabana for half day. Our cabana rental was supposed to start at 1:00. The cabana had not been cleaned when I arrived at 1:15. Once inside, the cabana service was good and we enjoyed our time there. However, I was very disappointed in this visit. read more

The Good: The massages were great, my wife requested a male masseuse for me since I like a lot of pressure, but I still got a lady.. who did a great job with great pressure! I'm a fan of the hot stone massage! The facilities were all nice as well. Staff inside the lockers and Spa were excellent. The Bad: Service out at the pool was SLOW and discombobulated. With the package there were certain things that we should get and we constantly had to ask for them, such as the wine with our lunch. I don't completely blame the pool attendants, I think there needs to be better communication between the staff that checks you in and the pool attendants as to what needs to be done. The lunch took forever to get to us.. about 40 min.. everything on that lunch menu takes 5 min to throw together, MAX. No idea why it would take so long, and no, it was not that busy since it was an overcast colder day. Finally, when were were getting the massage, it seemed like they just booked a bunch of people at the start of the hour. As a result the waiting area (right before you go into the massage room) which is usually a place to sit and relax with some water was crowded. We escaped to the balcony outside where there were a lot of people as well. I'm not sure if they stagger the appointment times, but I think that would help out a lot. I visited here in May with an offer from TravelZoo, given to me by a friend. My sister-in-law and I enjoyed massages, sparkling wine, truffles and lunch while using the sauna, jacuzzi and pool. The amenities are very nice. As other people have stated, the locker room is small but I've seen smaller (Mandara Spa @ Disneyland). Luckily we went on a weekday and the whole facility was pretty empty which only increased our enjoyment. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Cory at the front desk is top notch, very personable and welcoming. Saundra was very helpful and thorough in her tour and explanations of the amenities of the facility. Shari, my masseuse was very good and I left feeling very relaxed. The price is very expensive and I wouldn't come here without a type of deal but with a deal, it is very much worth it. The grounds are beautiful, the heated pool (salt water) was great, very comfortable. Lunch on the veranda was delicious and picturesque. I waited to write my review because of one thing. I was supposed to get a complimentary bottle of wine and a voucher for $20 off a future treatment (all part of the TravelZoo deal). I realized on the way home that I didn't get those items and called a couple days later to inquire. The girl who answered the phone was kind, took my address and said she would get those items shipped to me. I waited...and waited...and waited. Thinking 6 weeks was more than enough time, I sent an email ex planing my situation and the same day I received a message back from Cory asking me to call so they could fix the situation. I called and sure enough, Cory took care of it and I received my items a few days later. So, other than that little blip, I would definitely recommend this place (go on a weekday for the most enjoyment) and will go back when another deal presents itself. read more

Lovely spa. I was there on 4/2. I had an awesome massage,but the spa desperately needs more room and a dressing area. The food ordered on the spa menu was horrible. I ordered a chicken wrap, it took over 1 1/2 to get and when I received it, it was falling apart. There were other copuples there complaining about the food also. read more

Wonderful day. My daughter and I got the Grapeseed massages. Both were excellent. Staff is exceptional. My masseuse, Faye, was outstanding. Locker room attendants were very attentive. Front desk was professional. Poolside lunch was terrific. Definitely will be back. read more
