There's also grills and picnic tables for people to enjoy a lunch outdoors. They have a decent size parking lot and plenty of street parking as well.

Because of the clear queue, there is always a very tidy line to play pickleball. What I love about the pickleball courts here is that there are two sides divided by skill level. If you're a pro pickleball player, the advanced side has a line of extremely skilled competitors. If you're just starting out, the beginner side has a good amount of new players to practice with. It does get very busy during certain times, like on weekends or after work. However, the queuing system prevents any confusion when the crowds get big. I absolutely love pickleballing at this park and highly recommend to beginners and more advanced players!

I had to call the rec center and someone came 30 minutes later to unlock it. That was annoying. The fine print says there's a ranger available every 30 minutes. No there isn't. And no one ever checked my permit or my alcohol permit. Do what you will with that information. Anyways, the area is nice. The ground is loose dirt though, my sneakers got covered in it but I was running around a lot. There's no harassing bugs and there's a sink right next to the grill (bring a small hand soap) and a ton of trash cans around. The grill is really big, so bring a lot of charcoal My bbq guests really liked the park.

To build confidence and emphasize skill, teamwork, strategy, sportsmanship, and fitness over winning. I explored options and found coach Mickey. Coach Mickey has been a wonderful influence for my son who is shy and on the smaller side with a more gentle demeanor. This is a small 2-on-2 setting for a half court scrimmage and the cohorts are matched by skill level to keep the games interesting. Truthfully, my son bans me from watching and he very much enjoys this safe space with coach Mickey - looks forward to every session. He started around 3rd grade and is now in middle school with strong fundamentals. At one point he complained the kids on the elementary playground didn't know how to play basketball during recess, and I said not everyone gets to have Coach Mickey! We'll see if my son transitions over to 5-on-5 competitive play, but as far as I'm concerned, he's having fun and mission accomplished! Thank you Coach Mickey! I look forward to starting my girl when she's ready.
