We ate here twice in the weekend we were up visiting from southern Oregon. The burgers were delicious and the chicken fingers are amazing. I know I know, they're just frozen tenders. But these are the tenders I want and crave. Perfectly crispy and perfect for dipping. The fries are also delicious, but the onion rings are really where it's at. They were flavorful and crispy and the breading. Wasn't falling off. Service was friendly and fast. It's absolutely essential to the environment and should be given historical status even though I have no idea how long it's been around... I'd like to voucher this place that I've been going to for one day with my life and guarantee your joy of this as well... I didn't go for the gimmicky fancy burgers instead, I choose to have my burgers in quantitative amounts of bags. Therefore, on this trip, I acquired a bag of cheeseburgers along with a bag of corn dogs and a bag of fries, and they were kind enough to put all of these bag items into another bag, all of which were completely soaked through with delicious God's grease... I will say being that this is an original religious establishment. We've heard for years that the burgers here are really good. We were in the area so we made the stop to try it out. The drive thru seemed steadily busy but only a few other people were seated outside at the picnic tables near us. The friendly cashier inside appeared to still be getting familiar with things so didn't have answers to the couple of questions we had but that was ok. She was doing a great job & trying her best. We order 2 cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings and fries pickle spears. The burger was very unimpressive. Just a very thin beef patty with average toppings and a flat bun. The slice of cheese was so small I actually opened the burger to make sure they added it on. The fries & onion rings were very average, and the pickle spears were under-fried. I suppose had higher hopes for this little local diner. We scout out this type of place because typically these are the places we love. This time it just didn't live up to our hopes. read more

Portions were small, patty melt patties very small, fish sandwich only had one small strip of fish on it lots of bun.not what we we were used to. Flavor was ok just didn't seem the same. This is a great little spot in the Estacada area. It's got great little burgers it's got a cone for $1.05 for kids which is amazing and the Customer Service is outstanding. The milkshakes have fresh fruit and fresh ingredients and they are delicious. Used to really love this place... it has really gone down hill :( Ordered a burger, fries, and shake. Worst burger I've ever had, honestly almost spit it out. Fries were okay, but crazy salty. Milkshake was the only good thing here, I will say it was a damn good shake. To make sure it wasn't a fluke we actually went back, my boyfriend got the burger this time, and he couldn't believe had bad it was compared to a few years ago. He only ate about 2 bites before he tossed it. Service is hit or miss, sometimes they're nice, sometimes not so much. My family and I stopped in after a long drive back from camping. My brother and his wife ordered their food then we ordered ours. We sat outside and patiently waited. My brother and sister in law got their food, but not their shake. My sister mentioned to the kid that she didn't get her shake. He said I'm bringing it with the other shakes and Sunday. Which was weird because that was our order (a separate order). So they ate their food and we still haven't received ours. Another family shows up orders and sits by us. We continue to patiently wait because we know they're busy and the fryers are down. It's now been 45 minutes the other family gets their food. I ask the guy (same guy who took our order) and he says yes you have the 4 juniors. So now he's acknowledged our order twice. Now I'm pretty annoyed. I go inside and no one has any idea what I'm talking about or where my order is. I show him my receipt and he says very rudely, he doesn't know what happened. My husband comes in pretty pissed off and says "I want my money back!". The same kid is still very rude and says there's nothing he can do! My husband is very annoyed and walks out saying "Just give my wife my money back!". The kids still says No I can't do anything for you. Now I'm pretty annoyed because he is very rude and doesn't seem to care at all. I said I know you can give my money back because we just watched you give another lady her money back and I want to talk to the manager. He says no one can help you. I said give me the owners number he said he doesn't know it but I can come back tomorrow for a refund. I say no way I live in Milwaukie and I'm not coming back tomorrow. Finally after about 10 minutes he sends a lady out. She was very helpful and polite. She said they lost some orders and she understands how we feel and she would feel the same way. I said I'm sorry we know they were having problems but that kid didn't need to treat us that was. She refunded my money and we left. My kids are still hungry!! and 2 of our group of 6 got food! This was my favorite restaurant as a teen and young adult and my brother and I wanted to show my family the place we grew up with. So I love this place when the food is hot 4 stars when it is. I cannot give them 5 as it takes 30-40MIN in drive thru after ordering but that's ok when the food is fresh and hot. Today I ordered 3 piece strip basket with fries and a kids nugget and fries. We were 4th in line with maybe 2 people inside. It took almost an hour sitting in the car before we got our food. We get home which is 2 minutes away and the nuggets are perfectly cooked and hot. All of the fries were cold and hard. I get that there can be a rush coming in somedays but it's common sense to make the fries last. I don't know if they are training them that way or what but waiting almost an hour to get your food then it's cold pissed me off. He said no they are closed. Like we were in there and even said you told us you close at 6. He said he wanted to leave early. Then he hung up On two people who called in. I get it your closing early from 8pm to 6pm because it's New Year's Eve but now you want to close at 5:40 and then be rude? Takes one minute to serve a cone. He was the one working drive thru and cash register not the cashier. We came into Granny's about 15 to 20 minutes before closing after a softball game. the cashier was very sweet and he informed us they were closing soon and we would have to take our food to go, which was fine by us. A little league baseball team showed up after us for ice cream cones. That's where everything went downhill. This lady in the back came out and yelled at everybody to get out and wait outside!! Ron and I went to visit Estacada Public Library (which will be getting a review soon) in some more sleuthing on his family history. We decided to stop here for lunch. We decided on burgers for lunch. We also had luscious, old-fashioned milkshakes almost too thick to get up through a straw. The restaurant is also a drive-through. Saturday was so beautiful that we decided to sit outside and both ended up with red faces due to the sun. There was plenty of parking available. The restaurant is so well maintained, and they had a charming child-sized replica of an old 19th century wood-burning cook stove that brought all my love of such things right out. We ordered from the youthful crew and were impressed with their skills and service. The burgers were so excellent as were the dreamy milkshakes. Stopped by here to see their menu, and I was blown away by the sheer number of options! I did not expect such a small looking diner to have such a large menu! I ended up having curly fries and a shake, which were so so delicious and filling. I will definitely be back to try the granny's fried combo with onion rings, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, etc. They even have seafood options, and a garden burger which I was not expecting to see. But the highlight for me was the shake, I won't be able to stay away for long from trying more flavors! Customer service is definitely interesting. I would define attitudes towards work more as an obligation than something the workers want to do. Both my boyfriend and I asked for very simple modifications to our burgers (one with no sauce and no pickles, and one with cheese and ketchup only) both burgers came out as "plain" which was no sauce, nothing on them. When I asked them to fix the one that was simply supposed to be meat, cheese, and ketchup, I was handed a burger with a cold piece of cheese and still no ketchup and an eye roll. After sitting down to eat, I was glancing around and also noticed that in the kitchen there was very little hand washing while making the milkshakes and one worker constantly touched her face while handling a banana to put into a shake, also with no gloves. Local to the area - I've tried and tried to give Granny's a chance to make good food. It's simply gross, tonight I got a melted sundae and cookies that tasted disgusting. We had finished a good day of hiking out past town, and decided to stop in for a burger. We found Granny's on a town food page and gave the drive-in a shot. We were greeted enthusiastically by the gal working (10:15am on 28-Jun) and she answered all of our questions (some, admittedly, tedious) with a friendly voice. We drove around and were greeted in the same positive way. The food came out quickly, exactly as ordered, and delicious! The Farm Burger is solid - the fried egg and bacon done just as I love them. And crinkle cut fries! These are my guilty pleasure (see Zip's in Spokane) and they were salted just enough to where I could enjoy them without soaking them in any ketchup. If you order a milkshake and food expect it to be flavored milk by the time you get it since they seem to make the shakes first so they can sit and melt on the counter for 20 mins. Every small town needs a burger and ice cream shack, and it is a tragedy that Granny's is such a terrible version of one. It's actually faster to drive to Dairy Queen in Sandy than it is to go for ice cream here. We waited 45,MINUTES for TWO ICE CREAM CONES a few weeks ago! They were busy-ish but not overly so. They will make excuses about it not being fast food, but that's such a lame excuse for bad management. Every other little indie burger shack manages to get people their food in a reasonable amount of time. If you get in their drive thru line, you can end up spending an hour or more. I hoped whoever bought it might fix the issues but it's only gotten worse. The outdoor tables last time we were there were so filthy with dried ketchup, peeling paint, and splintering wood that we sat on the ground and waited for our cones. It's also expensive and pretty bland. The owner needs to slash about half the menu items, figure out how to do the basics really well, and hire some really good, adult managers. read more

I've had more than a few issues with my food as far as quality and I've come here more than 15 times as it's one of two burger joints in Estacada. Well, never again. Going to get pizza now. Tried to go back for shakes. Dissatisfied. Got the cherry shake special. It was soupy, nearly $7, and full of huge chocolate chips like the kind you put in cookies, hard to chew once partly frozen.
