I had to leave a review on this one. MS. Nora runs a great cafe. We had breakfast and drinks this morning and it was so delicious. Her gravy is on point! We left and went to the river for the day and came back for dinner. Didn't disappoint. We ordered French dips! Definitely a place to stop. Be patient and enjoy your company. The food is well worth it! Love her staff as well. Thank you guys. We will be back on the next time we run through town. Even if we have to drive out of the way to stop. read more

Had a training in Colton that the instructor no-showed for and saw this across the street and thought "welp, maybe we'll have a decent breakfast". First off the owner tried to get a hold of someone to figure out why we were stood up. She and the server were so sweet and helpful, took server's recommendation and got the waffles that were studded with brown sugar, hubs totally freaked out he loved it so much. This was such a welcome surprise on what could've been a big bummer of a day to have driven all that way and our class didn't happen. Anywho people next to us chatted us up, everyone was super warm and awesome. I bring this up bc I'm a person of color and not always treated well in small towns. What a gem of a little place! We stopped for an early lunch on Sunday. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were great and such a wonderful menu. I got the chicken fried steak breakfast and my husband got a couple appetizers. Both were very good. You could tell that it was fresh, homemade food. The after church crowd started to come in right when we were leaving so they were about to get really busy. Had dinner with my wife and an in-law. I had a top sirloin and my wife had a roast beef sandwich. Both were very good... my steak was just the way I wanted it. Service was great, prices reasonable. The Colton Cafe is an excellent example of a small town cafe. Friendly and competent staff and excellent food. Having driven by the Colton Cafe countless times, my wife and I finally decided to give this place a try. We were both surprised by the comfortable ambience and music that was playing. In addition, the place was busy. Always a good sign! I went with the Fish and Chips. Fresh cod deep fried in a beer batter. Generally I'm not a fan of beer batter as there is often too much batter and it's greasy. This was a thin lay of beer batter that was perfectly fried. The fish was not over cooked and the thin layer of beer batter was nice and crispy and not greasy. The fries were fresh as well. My wife had the chicken strips, which tasted great. But what really stood out was their macaroni salad. This was clearly homemade and not just a pile of goop. The service here was outstanding as well. Everyone made us feel like we had been coming to the Colton Cafe for years. We'll certainly be back to try their breakfast and other items for dinner. If you find yourself in the Molalla or Colton area, or just wanting to take a drive, head to the Colton Cafe. Plus they have beer on draft and nice assortment of alcohol. read more

Nobody should ever leave here hungry! This place was hopping on a Sunday morning. We opted to seat at the bar, where we could watch the kitchen crew. (We had originally picked a table in the back, but it was less than 6 feet from the bathroom. Ugh.) The bar was fun because staff interaction was very interesting- it's true teamwork in action. Portions are huge, and the menu is extensive. I had the biscuits and gravy, with potatoes, eggs and sausage. Very good. My husband had the steak and eggs with potatoes and a pancake. The pancake was fluffy and light. Marionberry syrup was delightful. The steak was cooked great, but the texture was a little chewy and not seasoned to his liking. Loved the interactions between staff and patrons. Excellent service. Next time I'm going to try one of those loaded Bloody Marys! Great stop in spite of the little flaws. read more

Was wanting to try the Colton cafe for a while and gosh we are glad we did. Ordered fish and chips , chicken strips , a starter salad and an elephant ear for dessert. It was all so incredibly delicious! Fish was moist to the point it wanted to fall apart , chicken was incredibly juicy on the inside and crisp light breading on the outside. Both were obviously made in house , not frozen like a lot of places. Blue cheese dressing was really good on the starter salad. The $4 elephant ear is a MUST! It was fresh, hot and giant! Our young blonde waitress (wish I would have caught her name) was attentive and very friendly also! My family can not wait to go back and try some of their other options ! Was in from out of town and happened upon this place while waiting for my hosts to wake up. Great food, nice atmosphere, nice people. But the thing that makes this a destination is the Chicken Fried Steak. It is probably the best one Ive had in all my days wandering this pretty planet. Had lunch last week at this establishment for the first time. We both got cheeseburgers, hers with tator tots and mine with fries. We both loved our smash burgers and tators. Wife ordered a strawberry milkshake which she loved. Prices were very reasonable. Establishment was clean. What stuck out the most to us was the friendly people and great service we received. They truly seem to care. These days customer service is dead....Not here. We left with a piece of key lime pie to go. OMG it was delicious when we had it later that night. We live in Canby so the Colton Cafe is sixteen miles away. We are going to become regulars here. I can't wait to try their chicken fried steak for breakfast. This is a great local restaurant. If you're anywhere in the Colton or Estacada area I highly recommend making this a regular spot. If you're not local, then stop here if youre ever passing theough. They have great burgers, excellent sandwiches, and wonderful sides. According to my daughter they have the best onion rings (and she would know). They have really great potato salad, and good tater tots too. They have good coffee and refill it for you too. The prices are very reasonable, in fact they have awesome prices! I have not tried the desserts yet, but I'm certain I'll be back. So don't you worry. I'll make sure to report on that too. I love the people here too. Well, after my last review I decided that one employee did not quantify an employers full view of running that business. But after ordering a few more times, the food was alright, but today picking up an order the owner was upset and spoke to me about the review, not in a manner that would be as "apologetic" of a bad experience but to berate me for not coming to her with my experience or issue instead of leaving valuable feedback. 100% poor restaurant owner here. Should have taken the feedback and done what I have done on numerous occasions during my tenure as a business manager and apologized about a specific experience and not taken it out on the customer who was still providing patronage. Very very poor experience, but now its the owner and not the employees. Too bad. Will not be spending any more money here. Which we spent quite a bit. Hope she learns. Good luck. read more

My wife and i hoped to stop in for our first time today and have breakfast but missed it by 15 min. Bummer, but... the sandwiches we had were very tasty, perfectly toasted. I had tots,my wife curly fries. Not to worry on the breakfast we were so welcomed there the best service hands down, and the strawberry shake that our amazing waitress made for me, to go was perfect best ive had in a long time. We stopped here on a road trip and had such a great lunch. It's so cute and comfy in there. Family owned. Super friendly! We were in at an odd time, but were still able to be served. I had the tuna bacon melt and tots. Very crisp and yummy. My son had a burger and thought it was great. Service is excellent! Food was mediocre. We ordered a couple omelettes but they served them with kraft singles or something similar. Omelettes were cooked too fast making them brown on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Hash browns were dry. Steak and eggs were nice. Oatmeal was really good! Sweets are great there! Cinnamon rolls and the peach pie were yummy. I might be back if only for the mimosas and the root beer floats. Also you can tell this is a Christian owned restaurant by the "Amen" sticker quote on the wall. PS They don't offer plant based mills. read more
