Walking on Duval and we came across this place. Food and service were very good. Favorite was the whiskey bread pudding!

Service is good at the bar. Not great outside. Food served in a very hot plate was barely warm.

Came here for Thanksgiving diner. They had a traditional Thanksgiving offering as well as the regular menu. We were originally going to do the traditional... but we went with the regular menu.... Looked too good to not have. We had a beet salad (great) , conch fritters ( the best I've ever had) and we split the Grand Lobster / Ravioli GRAND LOBSTER PAN SEARED LOBSTER TAIL SAUTEED WITH CHERRY TOMATOES, CARAMELIZED SHALLOTS AND CILANTRO. the ads say happy hour ends at 7 We were there by 5:45 and they said it was over. Being August and the restaurant was EMPTY. They said they couldn't change it on their website which means it was FALSE Advertising and since we made an effort they should have made an exception. Waitress could not have cared less. She didn't smile and could have easily given us happy hour prices. Was snotty about our local discount too! And my friends lobster tail was bad she couldn't eat it. Our party of five enjoyed a nice dinner outdoors here. The service was very good, the food was fine but not memorable. Scallops well prepared, tuna was cooked just right and they were willing to work with a good allergy. They also split a salad for two since small salads not available. But we had a great experience We had : Cucumber martini Mojito Bruschetta Beef carpaccio Cheese plate Leche martini Old-fashioned (don't order) All met or exceeded expectation, except for the old-fashioned I would pass on that. Hi, unfortunately after a fair dinner I forgot to got my card (and forgot to ask for it). When I return to the restaurant (5min later) nobody found my credit card. I had a very poor service, maybe because is just one person serving the outside table (we never knows) and that was the reason to give just 10$ tip after 100$ dinner. Stongly not recommend waste your time in this business! Food is not even close the fancy atmosphere they created to justify. After losting my card in this business, even worst! read more

Love love this restaurant- we live in KW and came here with friends from Cudjoe Key-stopped for Happy Hour then decided we wanted to have dinner. Attempted to pay our bill then eat dinner using our Women's Club book- manager denied us staying for dinner. He said management would not allow us to have happy hour drinks - then use our book for dinner,!! We realize his hands are tied but never in 10 years has this happened at any restaurant in Key West. We said we were disappointed but no problem we moved to Mangoes and had a happy hour drink and dinner. The 10 of us probably spent over $500.00 total- we felt bad for the Grand waitress that was wonderful but missed out on a genius tip. Management needs to think about this policy. read more

We made dinner reservations for 5:30; however, after a full-day walking around Key West, we were running out of energy. We were able to get seated at 4:00. We opted to sit on the porch. A cold front came through, and they brought us blankets! We ordered the blackened mahi mahi. It was so delicious. The service was efficient and excellent. We were impressed! read more

The space is gorgeous, and it's one of the largest spaces on the island. We were able to get right in on a Saturday night, which is honestly the only reason we ended up here. It seemed like a mix of locals and tourists. The menu was pretty expensive, but it's more of a white tablecloth vibe, which was fine. The mojito I had was refreshing with fresh mint. The conch fritters were really delicious- kind of like a hush puppy with some chewy clams inside. The whole grilled fish I had was delicious. The surf and turf my son ordered was very mediocre. Walked in (off season) for dinner before some live music and the food was solid. I got the whole fried yellowtail snapper and girlfriend got the filet. Yellowtail was fresh. Creamed potatoes were great too. Great service and recommendations. read more

Not Grand in any sense. The so called "locals" are allowed to make racist jokes and talk about the crass things they do to one another. If you get offended? Too bad. They are locals. They'll send their grown children to curse at you. Even better? The "locals" grown children will come and harass you from another table. Management? They don't care because "they're locals" Couldn't even finish my meal. I would've had a better experience at a McDonald's drive-thru. This place doesn't deserve a single star. read more

Unfortunately this was not a good dining experience for my husband and I. It took the server a long time to get to our table (~10 mins) after we were seated, to take our drink order. Came back with our drinks and she was about to walk away and we had to tell her we were ready to order. She didn't even let us know if there were any specials. She came with our salads and quickly walked away. Bread was brought to the table was just dropped very quickly and he quickly walked away. After our entrees were brought to us, we did not see our waitress until we finished eating. I needed salt and pepper, which was not on the table (very odd), but we never got the chance to ask her. She never came to be sure our meals were satisfactory or if we needed anything. Food was par, at best. Beet spinach salad was not fresh (I eat a lot of spinach so I know when it's not fresh) and beets had very little taste. Scallops were not bad, but they should have need dry packed. The pan seared red snapper was dried out around the edges, in pieces and the cream sauce was bland with no taste. After the meal we had no interest in an after dinner drink or dessert. Atmosphere, music was too loud for comfortable conversation and the corner booth we sat in had a plastic type leather covering that was cracking from age and very uncomfortable to sit on when wearing a short skirt and skin was up against the upholstery. We did go on Christmas Eve so maybe it was an off night but it took hours to get our food and multiple tables were seated and finished before we received our meals. I was a bit nervous about eating at The Grand Cafe with its mixed Yelp reviews, but it's just across the street from the Red Barn Theater (separate review) where we were headed afterward so we gave it a try. Very glad we did as we were lucky enough to have a wonderful experience. It took a few minutes to get seated at an outside table near the street, but after that service by the lovely Jelena was prompt - except during a sudden windy downpour when most people hid inside. (We hunkered down under a large umbrella for the duration). Key Lime Martini to start was tart and potent. Bruschetta and conch fritters starters were excellent. The "Grand Lobster" special consisted of a large tail bathed in brandy cream sauce; kinda rich for my tastes but very good. Hubbie said his seafood pasta was very fresh and nicely spiced without being overpowered by the sauce. Tip: Make a reservation on Opentable and specify if you want an outside table as they're popular. In fact we saw an angry male tourist have a total meltdown and threaten the host because he didn't get his first choice of table. Didn't care for this place. The service was very subpar, waiter spilled oil from salad dressing on one of the people's pants and never apologized. He got soapy water only when we asked. Horrific experience!! Waited 11 minutes for water, put in request for appetizers- rubbery calamari came out with a bland sauce. Another 10 minutes bread arrived. Waitress actually commented that bread should have already arrived. I complained about the incredibly slow service and she was not fazed. She spent her time flirting with the host and behaved inappropriately. Food came 46 minutes later and I refused the food. We had an exchange of unpleasantries and I left. The menu seems good on first look. Atmosphere is good and a beautiful night to eat outside. Osso Bucco is one of my favorite dishes and was very excited about eating it. Unfortunately it tasted like someone dumped a can of spaghetti-os on top of that and the rice and called it a day. Our server was beyond drunk, almost incoherent.
