We just went here two weeks ago for lunch and the price & food were awesome. Delicious food, everything was very fresh that was out. loved it. The only problem was they had a lot of items that were not replenished properly. The staff seemed to be hanging out instead of tending to the buffet, so it got a little messy. This is probably the worst Chinese's buffet you can go too. Went today with my two friends, ended up not even eating and still getting charged 40$. The food was disgusting, they barely had any other variety of hot food and they had the same cold RICE just out there sitting. The only thing that was good was the ice cream and that's all we ate. I have been meeting my parents at Grand Buffet in Ramsey for years at least once a month. Then they stopped serving the all u can eat crab legs. But other food always consistently fresh. Apparently wholesale price of crab legs got too expensive. The owners didn't want to raise the overall buffet price. Then they closed for remodeling. Just reopened and same awesome food. Complimentary hot tea. Spare ribs are the best around. There is always good pepper steak and beef w broccoli or with chicken. Noodle dishes are plentiful. The sautéed string beans were crispy as was the Bok Choy, perhaps because they keep refilling (if not ask). My wife likes the sushi; they now have seaweed salad! And instead of the crab legs the chef sautéed us Shrimps! You pick the vegetables, meat, chicken and noodles, etc and have choices of ginger, garlic, lo mein or teriyaki sauce and it's cooked as you wait. So, there is plenty of food to eat... and then there are lots of fruits, some canned like peaches, most are fresh. Salad bar is present. So you can eat vegetarian or meat here. I am a pretty healthy eater being a sports medicine podiatrist...You can eat healthy, but watch those deserts...soft serve ice cream. Enjoy! read more

Mediocre food but we still went until they started charging $4 and change for 2 year olds! 2 year olds don't eat anything (especially our child) so we think it's outrageous they would charge for such a young age. I understand if you need to increase your prices but to charge for kids under 4 is ridiculous! read more

Very hit or miss buffet. Food will either taste great or be inedible, so try a tiny portion of everything before loading your plate up. Lunch is much more reasonable than dinner here. Catching the attention of the staff is tough, but that is to be expected of any buffet. read more

This place used to great. We went on a Tuesday they had no shrimp, 3 crab legs and $14 per person for the meal. They did not refill the food, I guess because it was a Tuesday night. Very rude, unprofessional, ILLEGAL treatment. Brought food to be weighed for purchase. The weight per pound was $5.99. When I got to my table, the price didn't add up, so I went back to question manager. He had arbitrarily added additional cost to purchase because I had a few shrimp and some sushi. He didn't weight anything separately and didn't tell me he was charging me more. He only told me what he did when I questioned him. Both he and his female sidekick were quite rude. I also saw the manager give a senior couple a hard time over a senior discount. This business must be hard up for cash. THEIR BEHAVIOR IS REALLY STUPID SINCE I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR YEARS I.E. My husband and I have been to just about every Chinese Buffet we've heard of including as far as Ocean County--we really enjoy eating here. Reasonably priced for this area, very clean, friendly, not rushed, hot food constantly replenished, quite good of a selection for anyone's diet needs--very good and fresh seafood...last week it was a treat to see crawl fish--my husband loved it! Just returned from Fathers Day buffet supposedly offering lobster (justifying the premium holiday price), but never discovered any lobster. Always told lobster is about to come out of kitchen but in the course of an hour and a half was never available. Management acted unconcerned and indifferent. This place has evolved into a rip off crap hole. We went here on St. Valentines Day and after we sat down and started getting something to eat we were then told that the price was almost double because they were serving " lobster ". Only problem was the " lobster " was not going to be put out for 10 or 15 minutes. We thought ok we will just try to eat slowly and wait for the " lobster ". While waiting we noticed that many of the trays were almost empty or had old food in them. The chicken on a stick was what my wife was wanting and it should have been called leather on a stick. The special scallops in a shell would have been nice if there were actually some scallops in the mix but no way, just a bunch of moosh. Well now out comes the " lobster " that we waited for and were charged another $10.00 each for. You guessed it, NOT LOBSTER! Some other kind of shell fish in a goopy sauce that really sucked. Out waiter on top of all this was sick and kept sucking snot loudly, disgusting pig to say the least. When we left and I paid our bill the pickle puss cashier never once said thank you or smiled. This restaurant has deteriorated badly in the three years my wife and I had been patronizing it regularly. In the beginning everything was great and the wide variety of dishes were hot and fresh. Then things began to go downhill. For no logical reason, they discontinued "Tripod Chicken" (which was my favorite) early in 2011 never to appear again. Then they discontinued Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. More recently, they discontinued barbeque chicken wings and salt & pepper shrimp. All of these were dishes I had looked forward to having. Then they suddenly forgot how to keep the food hot (or at least very warm). The last few times we ate there, practically everything was cold or lukewarm at best. This past saturday was the last straw, especially since my wife had a very bad stomach ache that evening. We will never eat there again. read more

I ate there for lunch yesterday (Sunday, October 20, 2012). I had mainly the salmon sushi, the creamy soup, a little of the noodles. I had not even started on dessert yet when I started getting stomach pains and cramps. I had to rush home to use the bathroom. I felt ill. I threw up and worse. It turned out that I had food poisoning. There are cooks or food handlers in that restaurant who are careless about cleanliness and proper hygiene. I will never go back obviously. read more
