I called to order, left the driver a tip on my card, and no one mentioned there was a surcharge for delivery. Not thrilled about a hidden fee. Solid Chinese takeout restaurant. Food quality is above average with real protein ingredients. No questionable meats like most other takeout spots. This house Mei fun was really good and I would order it again and again. Shrimp are good size (half dollar) and vegetables taste fresh. It's not greasy, and not too salty or full of too much MSG. Flavors are well balanced. Delivery has been pretty timely and efficient the 2 times that I've ordered. I'd say this is a highly respectable Chinese takeout spot. Stumbled across this hidden gem and went for lunch. It is a very small intimate location, the food was great and the lunch special is 10$ which let's be honest we don't see too often anymore. Probably the best General Tso's Chicken I've had. It was cooked perfectly with the batter not being hard or too soft, and the sauce stood out by having somewhat of slightly fruity taste to it. I wouldn't be surprised if the chefs at Asian Grill have a secret ingredient that gives the sauce a slightly fruity enhancement, and it makes it so much more delicious than the usual kind from other places. However, the white rice unfortunately was not very good. The best way I can describe it is that it tasted like something that's been left in the freezer for six months. I wish the rice was better because that is the only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars. read more

So this is a place I had eaten at many times as a kid and had no memories one way or another but after seeing amazing reviews on a delivery app, I placed and order wow what a pleasant surprise. Food was across the boards excellent. All of it arrived by delivery fast and it was hot and fresh. Highlights included the Chicken and Lettuce Wraps and the little bite-sized Dumplings. We also really liked the Chow Fun which was perfectly cooked and a big portion. If I had to find any complaint at all, perhaps there was a little too much sauce on the Sesame Chicken as it was a tad big soggy (a common issue with Chinese takeout) but it was delicious nonetheless. I found this restaurant from Grub-hub! As a serious Chinese food lover from New York City, it does not disappoint. The shrimp with walnuts in a coconut style sauce was delicious!! It was made with the right amount of sauce over the shrimp. The vegetable lo-mien was fresh and well made. I have yet to eat at the restaurant located in Ridgewood but plans are in the works. Solid Asian fare for take out. We enjoy the Walnut Shrimp with lightly steamed broccoli & brown rice. Cold sesame noodles are good, as is the wonton egg drop soup. Wonton skins are thin & delicate with a savory pork filling. The soup could do with some minced scallions, but is nicely seasoned and is very satisfying. Good Chinese food, decent price, nice service. The food we order is crispy boneless duck, grilled salmon, shrimp and walnut, and fried rice. Overall, food was good and after eating I realized I should have taken some pics. Sorry yelpers, next time! On weekdays, they have about 15 dishes on the lunch special menu for $8 and it includes soup or salad and egg/spring rolls. They also have dim sum but only early hours on weekends. There is an open sushi bar. They do take outs as well. Service is nice and fast but then again my family and I were there off peak hours so I don't know how it is during lunch and dinner hours. Because it is located in a stripped center, there is parking lot available. I totally recommend this place and am definitely coming back. read more

I've been coming here since I was about 12 years old, and as a Ridgewood resident, this has always been my go-to. On New Year's Eve, my girlfriend and I ordered in, and stashed our leftovers in the fridge for a later day. On Wednesday, the 2nd, we took out our leftovers to enjoy for lunch, when my girlfriend said "There's a bug in my food". Naturally, I walk over expecting to see some sort of gnat, or tiny fly, that may have incidentally ended up in the food. Instead, I see a dead roach (not a full blown cockroach, but a roach none the less) in the bottom of the dish. As disgusting as this was, I immediately went to Asian Grill to settle this issue. I showed them the roach, and videotaped the entire encounter in case there should be any incident. I demanded and got my money back for the entirety of my order, and gave them back their roach-filled platter. Despite this, the health department will still be getting a report once I get around to it later today. When I did go in, the first thing I was offered was for them to cook me a new dish. Needless to say, this was the last thing I wanted. When I asked for my money back for the entirety of my order, they made me wait for a few minutes while they dug through the computer archives to confirm that it was $36 as I had told them. Sadly, there are people who try to profit off a situation like this, but I was not one of them and do not feel as if they cared too much about calming my displeasure with the filth of the situation, rather they just wanted me out of there and to dispose of the "evidence", so to say. Although, as many pointed out to me on social media, this "could happen anywhere", it is still absolutely despicable and quite possibly the worst possible outcome of ordering food. Also, I'm not an expert, but I do not believe roaches exist in solitude, begging the question of what else is going on in that restaurant. I am sad to never be going to my favorite Chinese food establishment in Ridgewood ever again, but I hope that others read this and perhaps prevent themselves from encountering a similar experience. I'm sitting here eating dim sum that tastes absolutely foul and wondering how long it takes before the diarrhea kicks in. This restaurant has a whole lot of balls boasting a menu containing korean, chinese, Japanese, and vietnamese items?!?!?!?! Might as well add american, french Spanish and Italian to the menu while your at it. Dissapointing is the nicest word I can use for this place. Asian Grill will always have a special place in my heart. We loved this place as high schoolers and I still get it from time to time. Some of my friends theorize that their portions have gotten smaller over the years, and I do believe there was a stretch when that was true, but I got delivery this past weekend and was stuffed after my General Tso's meal. And of course their cream cheese wontons are delicious. Be sure to use the soy sauce they give you on the side, because it is really good. If you've never eaten here before, Asian Grill sits at a spot that is slightly less dirty than your usual dirty Chinese food. The fried rice is a little bit different (not your usual yellow rice with red pork), and the General Tso's is less crispy/breaded, but good nonetheless. read more

However, the Wonton Eggdrop Soup was good, and the Wonton wrappers were superb, making for a light and tasty wonton, not too doughy. However, the crunchy noodles that go in the soup were stale. There wasn't really a waitress, just an airhead student who didn't know what was going on, or why she was there. Not a dine in place, which my husband and I found out the first time we went. But we were pleasantly surprised by the food. Hot & sour soup had depth and flavor, the broccoli & chicken had a great flavor...you could taste the garlic, ginger and soy. The sauce wasn't that thick, corn-starchy sauce you get at other places. The chicken was all white meat check with generous portions. We watched as the owner and her daughter handmade each and every crab puff from scratch. This is one of the better Asian take-out places in the area. The hot-sour soup was tasty, but a little on the mild side. The won ton soup has nice thin won tons and ginger tasting filling. The Mongolian Shrimp was great, with grilled onions, scallions and mushrooms then stir fried in a hearty sauce. The Szechuan Firecracker chicken was way too mild to be called Szechuan, but the chicken tender and moist. This has become out number one take out place. read more
