Amazing food, so friendly, and pretty cheap. Lots of parking which is really nice. They are always so welcoming and generous with fortune cookies. Definitely recommend. read more

Great meal Clean food Great service Always consistent Reliable and a good value Been there forever read more

THE WORST Chinese food I've ever had! Pork fried rice was tasteless. Pepper steak had very little flavor, and the peppers were barely cooked. Chicken General Tso's tasted like really bad and old oil. The sauce on the chicken tasted so artificial. read more

Smaller portions, something has changed as far as the food. Maybe a new chef. Just not as good as before. Good service, but prices are becoming unaffordable. Otherwise pretty good Chinese food. read more

It was just really not good honestly. No flavor at all. The egg roll was good but both of our main dishes were not. Would not go back.

Found this on Uber eats. Everything was really bland and even the sauce didn't help it. I ordered steamed dumplings, which were very doughy. The chicken rice soup had barely any broth in it, I also got a wonton soup but I haven't tried it yet. The only OK thing was the vegetable roll, it was nice and crispy. I don't think I would order from here again, but it wasn't terrible. read more

Love their food in a pinch. Everything is delicious. I recommend the eggplant and egg rolls.

really great food . I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the dish I ordered. great price as well!

have loved this place for years now! Always a great meal and portions are huge. The spare ribs are my favorite appetizer and Shrimp Egg Foo Young w/ mushrooms is my favorite entree. read more

Just ordered take out... rubbery chicken...fried rice tasted like a dirty wok. There are so many other places thar are so much better.

Great place to get takeout Chinese food! The owner is a great guy that always goes above and beyond!

Sub par food, terrible service!!! Dont even consider ordering a delivery! I finally cancelled after waiting 2 hours and never again for sure. read more

Ordered supper from here through Yelp app last week. Let me start with the positives. Food arrived, hot, fresh, on time, and followed all covid protocols. Now, the negatives, to give it the "ok" rating. The food was bland. I ordered the chicken wings appetizer and the Beef with Szechuan style veggies. I needed to doctor up the food with all the sauce packets that came with the order + extra soy sauce from my fridge and salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes and garlic powder. It was anything but a flavor bomb in my mouth. The chicken had a strange sweet consistency to it, I don't know if they dust it in sugar after coming out of the fryer. The beef was chewy and almost stringy as if they cut it with the grain. I probably will not order from here again. read more

I have had several occasions to get takeouts from Hunan Gardens. I had a hard time to find the place in my first visit because the place is located deep in the strip mall not visible from the street. So far, I haven't had a bad takeouts. Taste was consistently good, ingredients were fresh, the serving portion was generous, and the price was reasonable. I would rate this place to be outstanding compared with other Chinese takeout places, especially in Northern New Jersey. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful to answer any questions that you may have. I definitely will continue my patronage with this establishment. read more

This was the absolute worst Chinese food we have ever had. My child could have made a better meal. Where should I start, no flavor at all. Dry tasteless nasty rice, mei fun and beef and broccoli. The dumplings were hard, heavy, doughy and tasted like nothing. The shrimp toast was petrified and burn almost black, I spit it out. I cannot warn you enough to avoid this place. Truly dreadful. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight after deciding that the place walking distance from my house wasn't really that good. All I can say is WOW!!! SOOOOO good!! I got the Shrimp and Broccoli dinner combo and it came with an egg roll. The the shrimp were HUGE, the sauce was nice and light, the food was not salty at all, and the food tasted so fresh. I also ordered when I walked in and was in and out in 5 minutes. So super fast! This is my new go-to Chinese take-out place! I would definitely recommend it!!! read more

Order sweet and sour chicken. It was just meat and a vary tasteless sauce. Won't be going back.

Looking for a new place after Cathay closed down. This was our first shot and what a huge mistake! We ordered the beef with garlic sauce, it was undercooked, relatively bland, and, saving the best for last, had a huge strand of hair in it. Needless to say, don't do it! Find another place for Chinese... read more

Hunan Gardens - A hair in my beef with garlic sauce. - Chinese Near Me - Waldwick, New Jersey

I am reviewing Hunan Gardens from the standpoint of the mid-90s. What I would have said as a seven year old: I love Hunan Garden, it is extremely yummy. I like the egg drop soup. Also the shrimp that is fried. Also the thin pancakes with the stuff you put in them. I wish we could eat chinese food every night. I also like that the people behind the counter give me extra fortune cookies, duck sauce and chinese noodles. Note: Things may have changed since the mid-90s...I am not liable for any of those changes. read more

Our new favorites are hot and sour soup and sweet and sour chicken. The hot and sour soup has the perfect balance of spiciness and soy sauce / vinegar - perfect for a cold night. Combined with sweet and sour chicken - it's the perfect combination for a night in. Yup this is my guilty pleasure. read more

After moving to jersey, I've tried many Chinese food places. This place is seriously comparable to nyc! It's fast, reasonable, and the most importantly, the food is HOT. Wonton egg drop soup is my favorite. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu。 read more

I couldn't decide between a 1 or a 2 rating. We had been ordering from here for probably around 15 years, but stopped about 2 years ago when they dropped off in quality. I heard they recently changed hands so I thought we would try again. BIG mistake. The Wantons in the wanton soup were terrible. The spring rolls were average at best. The fantail shrimp were taken out of a freezer, defrosted in a microwave before frying, the best I can say is they were ok. The General Tso's chicken wasn't edible, the chicken was so over cooked it took a serrated knife to cut through. The pork fried rice was just a yellow colored rice with little if any pork, no egg, no peas, but I did find a slice of onion. The only thing that was somewhat edible was the chicken with green beans. What a shame. They will probably be changing hands again soon, or closing down. read more

Have been going for years and can rely on Hunan Gardens for great food. We usually go for the same 3-4 dishes, but just tried the Jumbo Shrimp in spicy sauce and it was phenomenal. Friendly and quick too. read more

One of the better local Chinese food spots in the area. Nice sized shrimp in the shrimp and broccoli. Boneless spare-ribs are good. Everything I had thus far has been on point. Delivery is on-time. read more

Fast, friendly. Beef and broccoli is my favorite rice dish but nothing compares to their fried chicken. It is the best I ever have eaten in my 52 year life having lived in New York City (Chinatown), Los Angeles and dozen other cities I have visited. If you want something hot, crispy and filling, go for the beef and broccoli and fried chicken. read more

This is my childhood Chinese takeout place, so I'm tempted to give it a higher than 3 star rating. But basically, it's just reliable - nothing sensational. I've always had good stuff here and will continue to visit when in the area. read more

This is my family's favorite Chinese place. We come all the way from Franklin Lakes to get Chinese here and it never disappoints. What I love more about this place is if you want something substituted or spiced up, they are all on board. Love them. Great service and so polite. Keep up the great work guys! See you next week for Chinese night! read more

I was craving Wonton Soup, so we stopped by here. The wontons were doughy and had no flavor. The soup was pretty bland. The bean curd was so fried that you could barely tell the original consistency. The sauce was watery. Not a place I'd come back to again. read more

Just started working in the area and was craving Chinese so I went on Yelp and this place had pretty decent reviews. We got chicken fried rice with chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. Omg it was so good. Especially the fried rice it tasted so fresh like it could be healthy lol. Also had the boneless spare ribs yum! Perfectly balanced not too saucy or greasy. It was a little pricey. read more

Have been going here since I was little. Best fried chicken wings ever. All the food is great but the they need to maybe put some spices in the wonton soup, it's a little plain. I usually put some mustard in it to make it taste more flavorful. Besides that it's amazing. I recommend this place! read more

Delivery took twice as long as I was quoted, and the food was very bland. At least it wasn't expensive.

Where to begin, we ordered here for the first time in more than 10 years. The fried rice was crunchy (undercooked rice), not a good start. The egg rolls were soggy with no flavor. Same with the beef with broccoli and lo mein; no flavor. There wasn't enough soy sauce to salvage this meal. We won't be back. We're still looking for a good take out place after Cathay closed. Message me if you know of one. read more

was a bit hesitant based on past reviews, but this place definitely has cleaned up whatever problems. Yummy food with nice staff. Not much seating but its mostly take-out. Place was clean and all th old issues they must have fixed. read more

Friendly Family owned best Chinese food take out establishment in the neighborhood. Best chicken wings ever!

Love there food, the owners are soooo nice. They always bring my son lollipops when we get food delivered.

One of the slightly above average Chinese food establishments I've been to in my life. What's very underrated is that this place has like really really good wings which one wouldn't figure they had. standard pricing, dinner special combo is a little over $8. The egg drop soup here is phenomenal but the wonton soup is sadly par. The Lo mein here is very good. Quick service and overall a decent place. read more
